Summary: Dissapointed??? VERY!!!!!
Review: The movie is hardly ever as good as the book... however, it can be done. i am a really big harry potter fan (like millions of others) and i was very unhappy with it. if i could give this movie half a star , i would...the casting was pretty good (harry had dark brown hair not black and blue eyes not green, ron was shorter instead of tall and more gangly, while the twins were tall and gangly instead of shorter) draco and snape were by far the best. the scenery was alright... a bit of it was kinda fake looking. but, they completely butchered the story. they didnt develop any of the characters (except for draco and snape), they never even mention quite a few names of characters(including hedwig, dean thomas, and peeves who was left out completely), too much time was spent on watching harry in the window or hedwig fly above hogwarts, they changed things that werent worth changing (when hagrid talks about fluffy he says he got him from an irish fellow instead of a greek chapie), they took out snapes potion obstacle in the end when hagrid makes it very clear that snape is haelpping to guard the stone, and lots more. another thing is that in the movie, voldemort said he would bring back harrys parents back to life if harry joined him... that is stupid. voldemort killed harrys parents for a reason, he is not going to bring them back (even if he could, magic cant ressurect people) why would he? harry isnt stupid... he knows this. that was useless. dont get me wrong, i dont think that the movie should be exactly like the book. but, they could have done a lot better job with it. there is a special feeling that goes with the harry potter books... they are fun, comical, mysterious, daring, and adventureous... that whole feeling that makes the books sooo wonderful was lost completely in the movie. i about cried when i saw it. lets hope they do a better job with the second one.

Summary: Fantastic movie!!
Review: Harry Potter was a wonderful book and the movie really does it justice! When I read a book, I have a mental image of what all the characters and places look like. This movie actually seemed to pull them all from my imagination! Phenomenal! Well acted and visually stimulating! I felt like I was 10 also, sitting beside my 10 year old in the theatre.

Summary: Pretty good retelling of the book
Review: I saw this movie three times and each time i discovered something new. One thing i missed were some of the deleted scenes, but that's only because i have read and re-read the harry potter books lots of times. I thought this was a pretty good version, and i assume the DVD will have some of the scene's i missed. I highly suggest buying the DVD, i know i am

Summary: What was the point?
Review: I'm not sure just how long this movie was even though I looked at my watch about 40 times during the film. The story didn't seem to go anywhere or interest me at all. It seems as though there are large sections of the move where the characters forget about the plot (you have to kind of come up with one for them) and just wander around aimlessly. You could have told the same story in a 21 minute tv show, but instead you end up with loooong drawn out scenes that go nowhere and do not contribute to the story whatsoever. In short:

Harry is an abused little boy that gets trust into the magical drivers seat. He goes to magician's school. He is the chosen one (who cares?) but doesn't seem to do anything that proves this. There is a stone that they need to save from some evil guy, but they stray down long boring sequences that only seem to prove that the famed Harry can't do magic after all and always relys on his friends that do to bail him out. They drive the chosen one thing into your head a few more times, then Harry saves the day without realy doing anything....

Summary: Not as good as the book
Review: This Movie had great special effects and all, but it did not do the book justice. It cut out way too many scenes. Still, It was a good movie as far as movies go, but nowhere near as good as the book. The worst part about it is that they had to cutout so much of the book. Overall great book, good movie.

Summary: Good, yet dependant
Review: This movie was very good, with excellent acting and outstanding special effects, but perhaps a bit too dependant on the movie. The movie doesn't quite follow the book, and the book is undoubtably better, however the movie had some wonderful points. The much refered to Quidditch scene and 5 star cast continues to amaze me - i went and saw the movie again after the first time, and am planning to buy the movie when it comes out. I would definitely recommend this movie to others. Just make sure you read the book first!!!!

Summary: Cheesy, dull, unmagical. Read the book-- or play outside
Review: Thuddingly literal adaptation which races so hard to get every famous incident into the movie that it has no time for characterization, magic, humor, any of the qualities that made the books charming. The kids are relatively colorless and adults who seem perfectly cast (from Alan Rickman to John Cleese) are given next to nothing to do. A more joyless example of how British wit can be turned into expensive American product can hardly be imagined-- this is the kind of movie that, given a choice between showing us a magnificently designed set for Gringott's Bank or a pile of phony gold, encourages us to ooh and ahh over the pile. Well, don't add to this movie's pile.
