Summary: Simple, short and sweet
Review: I am not the type of guy that often watch animated movies. I enjoy movies like "The Shawshank Redemption," "Gladiator," "The Matrix," "The Lord of The Rings," to name a few. After I watched "The Lion King" I was surprised and was in awe about the story, soundtrack, and the overall feel of the movie. I could not believe that for the first time I enjoyed watching an animated movie. This movie is the epitome of family entertainment captured in a DVD disk. It's one of the many reasons that make a weekend movie viewing with the rest of the people you love worthwhile. It's a phonomenal movie. Two thumbs up.

Summary: The Lion King -- Absolutely Wonderful!!!
Review: This movie is probably one of my very favorite. The animation and beautiful colors are wonderful throughout the whole movie. I know that I sat with my oldest granddaughter through this movie 30 times, and now that my youngest grandson is born... we sit and watch it another 30 times and love it each and every time!!!

Summary: Word's can not explain...
Review: I don't know how someone could make and create a movie this extraudinary. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. Not the normal Disney movie. I surprise myself. I know every single word and scene there is to this movie. Someone could ask me about something happening in a certain scene and I would know it exactly on the top of my head. I don't actually try to memorize the movie but what would you expect for a girl who has been watching this movie since the age of 3. If you haven't seen The Lion King, I advise you to see it, I can promise you, you won't be disappointed. I have not gone a year without watching this movie at least 20 times. This has been my favorite movie for 9 years and will forever more be.

Summary: This movies gets a lot of praise, but it is still disturbing
Review: You have to love the gift of music that Elton John has bestowed upon this movie. You have to love the vivid characters and the striking animated scenery. It has all of the Disney trademarks both good and bad.

In many cases the more recent Disney flicks are more upbeat than the older ones. However, this one seems to harken back to the darkest elements of Snow White - family members experiencing murderous rage due to jealousy. It seems that, although the good guys win, there is still a strong undercurrent of hatred and fear that I think kids and adults can do without when they want to watch a movie with the entire family.

Summary: A must see movie!
Review: I saw a lot of animated movies in theaters when I was little, but the one that stands out the most is "The Lion King." This is my favorite Disney movie, and it's definitely on the list of one of my favorite movies ever. It has a wonderful story and wonderful music. You'll be singing Hakuna Mutata in your head long after the movie ends. All I can say is, if you haven't seen this Disney masterpeice, where have you been??? See it now!!

Summary: Lion King on DVD; It's about time!
Review: Obviously one of Disney's greatest animated films was not to be taken lightly when released on DVD. This movie is a specticle of story, animation and music. Heart wrenching, glorious, terrifying and fun this movie can get under the skin of anyone. I won't rehash the story, because most everyone knows it. In short, it's about growing up and taking responsibility for what you are responsible for. Maturing angst and hard decisions make this a suitable parable for adults as well as children.

The animation is superb, the voices well cast. There are instense moments and some violence but it's vital to the story.
Highly, highly recommended.

Summary: Excellent
Review: This has to be the most inspirational animation. It teaches many lessons for life: have fun with life, believe in yourself, and most importantly, remember who you are. It is a great experience just to watch it. If you have not seen it yet, you are missing out on a lot. Forget all those trips you have planned, because the most important thing right now is that you watch The Lion King. I think everyone should have this experience and the knowledge that there is always someone out there who cares.

Summary: This is the Best family friendly movie ever made!
Review: I recently asked my family for their favorite Disney movie ever. With a family of seven, several answers were offered and discussed. Lion King won.

The story is simple and yet universal, the Circle Of Life -COL- explains so much for a secular world about life and its passing. And yet, for those who have a religious explaination, the COL does not collide with those beliefs.

The music is wonderful. The characters that were created are lovable and enduring. The bad guy is a real good bad guy, the hero - relunctant. Honor, responsibility and duty are praised, instead of the opposite idea of doing what feels good.

Summary: For animated films, there's Lion King, then everyhing "else"
Review: This movie truly was Disney's paramount achievement. The Lion King was a culmination of years of tweaking and mastering the formula for animated films, and I think the result really blew people away. For this movie, Disney literally used all the tricks to produce a masterpiece that transcended the genre. The greatest compliment we can give to this film is that it's not only known as the greatest animated movie of all time, it's one of the best to ever hit the big screens.

Are there flaws to this movie? After four viewings, I'm convinced that the answer is "no" (unless you think the subliminal "SEX" that appears in the dirt and leaves when Simba plops onto the ground under the stars somehow diminishes the movie's quality... hey, it was kinky and, in retrospect, foolish, but it takes nothing away from the movie).

If you haven't seen The Lion King, you've sadly deprived yourself of an unforgettable experience. Truly funny, touching, inspiring, gripping, and triumphant, it's a real tribute to Disney, especially since in the nineties, this was a company known for its mediocre or embarrassingly bad flicks.

The Lion King shines head and shoulders above the crowd... this movie was so good, it changed the animation scene... not until Toy Story did an animated film produced in the U.S. (one could say the Japanese animation Princess Mononoke was as good, if not better, than TLK) come even close to the bar of excellence TLK set. The fact that we still remember it, nine years later, as a classic that must be rewatched speaks volumes for its lasting legacy.

Summary: King Forever
Review: The Lion King never gets old, and will stay in the hearts of all forever. The lively animation, and thrilling, suspensful enjoyment brought to young kids is enough for me to keep watching it.
