Rating: Summary: My Favorite Movie Review: Escape to Witch Mountain is one of my favorite films of all time. It differs quite a bit from the book it's based on ("Escape to Witch Mountain" by Alexander Key), but they each have their own charm...unlike the most recent remake. Tia and Tony are two of my favorite characters, an I am glad to finally see this movie available on DVD. [Return to Witch Mountain is much more faithful to the book of the same name by Alexander Key. Now if only that movie will come to DVD...]
Rating: Summary: A Very Cute Movie! Review: Escape to Witch Mountain is one of my favorite live action Disney movies. I saw it back when it was playing in theaters when I was about nine or ten years old and I really enjoyed watching it. Kim Richards who some fans may remember as Prudence from the TV show Nanny and the Professor played Tia and Ike Eisenmann played Tony, they are a sister and her brother and are living in an orphanage. Tony and Tia have magical powers and can do things like predict the future, communicate with animals, etc, and it is trouble for them when this man named Lucas Deranian played by Donald Pleasence from the Halloween movies sees them using their powers and he and his boss a wealthy and powerful tycoon named Aristotle Bolt played by Ray Milland who starred in The Lost Weekend come up with a plan to pretend that Deranian is Tony and Tia's Uncle because the evil Mr. Bolt wants to use them to predict the future for him so he can make even more money and become more powerful and when Tony and Tia find out about this they escape and meet a man named Jason O'Day played by Eddie Albert from Green Acres who reluctantly helps them escape. This is a very cute movie and I highly recommend this DVD and it is very nice to see this movie in it's widescreen format again instead of edited the pan & scan format of TV and video tapes!
Rating: Summary: Escape to Witch Mountain: All Time Favorite Review: Escape to Witch Mountain is the all time favorite. It's just really good. I especially like Tony, just as well as Tia. But, the book has to be better, even though I haven't read it yet. This movie was especially queer, like the part when Tony beats up this bully guy with no hands. That's one of his tricks. He and his sister, Tia, are supernatural beings who are trying to find out their mysterious past. I really like supernatural stuff, so this movie was particularly good.
Rating: Summary: This Movie Rocks! Please Put it On DVD! (Widescreen) Review: Escape to Witch Mountain rocks, Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann are so good in this movie and so is Eddie Albert! Please put this awesome movie on a widescreen DVD!

Rating: Summary: The Bolt Mansion in Carmel Review: For anyone interested, the Mansion Disney used for Mr Bolt is located on the famous "17 Mile Driveing tour of Carmel homes, in Monterey Cal.
Rating: Summary: For Kim Richards' Fans- a Must on Dvd Review: Great action-comedy-adventure-fantasy-science fiction movie that has quality stars, made by Walt Disney, early special effects & stars a 10 year old Kim Richards. It's a great dvd to enjoy-especially with the extra features which have one flaw in the extras as facts which is not true- Kim Richards doesn't have an identical or twin sister at all- she has a younger sister named Kyle Richards ( on television's "Little House on the Prairie" ) who is in the film as her character playing Kim as a 3 year old in the in the flashback scenes.Kim Richards starred in the movies:Escape" (1989- with her sister Kyle-action-mystery ),"No Deposit,No Return"( 1976 with Don Knotts ),"Meatballs 2 " ( 1983-comedy sequel by Columbia Pictures ),"Tuff Turf ( 1984 with James Spader ),"Return from Witch Mountain" ( 1978 with her "No Deposit,No Return" co-star as one of the gang- along with her "Escape to witch mountain" co-star Ike Eisenmann ),etc.Kim Richards appeared on a memorable episode of "Little House on the Prairie" as a friend of Laura's who had one leg shorter than the other so her father made a special shoe for her so she could walk & run without limping & her parents were opposed to it,on the hit show "James at 15" ( later re-named "James at 16" the 2nd year w/Lance Kerwin who is also in the movie for a few lines on the schoolbus after the 1st premonition coming back from the movie to the orphanage & on the baseball field at the orphanage ) and also as a tennis player on a Tom Selleck hit show in the 1980's & other tv.guest appearances but her most recent appearances are an article in People magazine in 2002 and another time-a photo of her on a date with Donald Trump in 2003. This glorious movie is finally on dvd for all ages to enjoy although some people may be cautioned that men with guns will be chasing 2 children throughout this movie-as most Walt Disney films- there is no bad language or excessive violence & in the car wrecks- no one actually gets hurt or dies which is why this is a fantasy. The musical scoring of this movie makes the film soar. A must for Kim Richards' fans. The opening sequence alone will captivate as the silhouettes of a little boy & a little girl running with the sounds of barking dogs behind them give you a hint of the action fantasy and urgency that fills this delightful story based on Alexander Key's novel of 2 alien children with special powers. The music matches the eerie out-of-this-world feeling. Eddie Albert is wonderful as a lonely traveling man they stowaway with. Ray Milland and Donald Pleasance as the money-hungry men after the kids for profit. There's a cameo of actor Lance Kerwin ( one of the first casualties in the movie: "Outbreak" ) who later played Kim Richards older brother in a television series: "James at 15" ( 1977 ). There is a black cat ( Winky ) who helps them throughout the story (which is why they may be witches). The little girl communicates with her brother telepathically & also talks with animals- a bear & a horse also help them when they ask. This movie is just as great in 2003 as it was new at the theaters in 1975- I saw this as a 7 year old & still enjoy it at 36- especially on dvd.If only we had the special powers to know what is really good ! With "Escape to Witch Mountain"- you don't need to have special powers to know you aren't wasting time or money when you experience this 97 minutes of pure joy.
