Summary: Another great film of my childhood!
Review: This is another film I remember vividly. The hero's quest to save his world is seen through the eyes of the reader of a fantasy book, in this case, young Bastian. He skips school in favor of reading this 'neverending story,' and eventually finds himself so much in the book that fantasy and reality collide. Visually, this film is beyond words. All of the creatures and characters that occupy the world of Fantasia have to be seen to be believed. The story is timeless, and the film is great. But don't see the sequels. They are beyond awful.

Summary: Imagination, Dreams, & Adventure all tied in one.
Review: I thought the movie was great. I had the movie for so long and when ever I watch it it still gets to me. If you're not much of a dreamer this movie will make you one. It's about a young child (Barret Oliver) who steals a book from a book store and hides in the school attic and reads the book. Has he's reading the book he meets a warrior (Noah Hathaway) who was sent out to save the world Fantasia and the young child emperess. On the jorney he pulls the young child into the book. Then @ the end the young child saves fantasia and the young child emperess. It's a great movie. I loved it. Noah Hathaway was great actor.

Summary: This is the perfect movie for imaginative people!
Review: I recommend this movie for people who love stories like the Chronicles of Narnia. This has been one of my all-time favorite movies since the first day I saw it when I was 3 years old. It is the perfect movie for the people who like to put themselves in the "character's shoes", or who love magical worlds filled with dragons and unicorns and all the mystical creatures anyone has ever thought of. If you loved "The Last Unicorn" or any other kind of movie like that, you need to see this movie. The odds are great that you'll enjoy this. And those that don't like this movie because they think that it is too childish for them have missed the whole message and enjoyment of this movie. Watching this movie lets the inner child in you feel a sence of deep happiness that I always feel when I see this.

Summary: A dreamy tale about young boy facing great challenges
Review: I first saw this glittering fantasy tale on the silver screen with my family when I was a young teenager. I truly love the mystic world full of such whimsical creatures such as multi-faced courtiers, a gigantic swamp tortoise, a rock-eating giant, an eldery elfin couple, and so on forth. Especially the flying white dragon that greatly resembles a big, friendly puppy dog! In this film, a brave young boy being chased by school bullies and having to put up with an indifferent dad secretly smuggles a unusual-looking book out of an musty old bookstore. Then he hides in a school closet to read all about "himself" as the hero setting out on a great quest to save the dying world from the unseen evil. Imagine a young child becoming quite enthralled by a real storybook, especially the part where he cries over the death of the hero's horse deep in the depths of a treacherous swampland. And there are also frightening parts in this imaginative yarn as well, yet it is still quite a welcome change for young people being raised in the age of really gross and scary movies like "The Gremlins" and "The Blade Runner". However, the sad thing about "The Neverending Story" is that it is eventually reduced to direct-to-video kiddie fodder those days.

Summary: A gem of a movie
Review: When this movie first came out, I was 4 years old. My parents rented it for us kids on video about two years later. At the time I was absolutely enthralled by the story; as it progressed I was frightened, saddened, excited, and joyful in turns. I don't think I've ever been as involved with a story as I was then. I just watched it again this evening, after over a decade, and I have to say that even at the age of 19 I am still impressed by this movie. There is a lot in the Never-Ending Story that would be wasted on children. Much of it is very profound, for example; the empire of Fantasia being reduced to a single grain of sand, which becomes the seed for its rebirth - a universe of potential in a grain of sand. The two boys, Atreju and Sebastian, who at first appear to be complete opposites, as one is a warrior and the other a bookish dreamer are revealed to be strikingly similar. Bastion discovers that his courage- the courage to dream- is just as powerful, if not more, than the bravery of warriors like Atreju. The writer's thoughts on the nature of hope and its relationship with tyranny were enlightened. A people without hope are easy to control. Only adults would see the real world implications of this. The special effects have also withstood the test of time, simply because the effects used complemented the story and not the other way around. By today's standards the sfx in this movie are still amazing, and even with inevitable technological improvements in the years to come I doubt this movie will ever be obsolete. I would continue on and gush about the magnificent music, fantastic scenery, and colourful characters but other reviewers seem to have beaten me to it. Overall, this was a very profound and yet enjoyable movie, it will challenge children and adults alike.

Summary: Treasured Memory of the 80's Kid
Review: If you grew up in the 80's, this film was undoubtedly one of your fondest memories. It was so incredibly original and featured special effects before the boring computer graphics age. Every aspect of this film, from the plot to the background music, made this one of my all time favorites...as well as many other 80's kids.

Review: SO I'm watching it and thinking, 'It must be looped or something, How else could it be Never Ending'. Next thing I know BAM, it over. What a rip off...

Summary: Awsome Movie
Review: This movie is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. Not only does it have a great story line, an awsome message, but the soundtrack is something to die for. The music sets the mood for this excellent story. I'm 18, and the movie still almost makes me cry with tears of joy. I definintly recommend this movie to EVERYBODY. If you haven't ever seen this movie...watch it, it's great!

Summary: cool
Review: I don't usually like fantasy films or books, but this is too good to miss. I saw this when I was about 6, now I'm 17 and it's still one of my favourite films. It was on TV yesterday which made me think I should review it. It's a wonderful story; scary, sad and humourous with good special effects for the time. The backdrop is spectacular and the theme tune is great! I would reccommend this film to anyone from 4-144!
