Summary: Does the Book Justice
Review: In this adaptation of J.K. Rowling's acclaimed "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone," Chris Colombus put together a great movie that any fan of the books will love. I was a bit skeptical about seeing this film because I thought that the movie would be done poorly and that I wouldn't end up liking it. I ended up enjoying a lot. Chris Colombus stayed right with the book and didn't change a thing. Never have I seen a director that was making a film out of a book keep the film so real to the original novel. Colombus had some skill to do this movie with such beauty.

The actors chosen for this film were great. I had imagined every character from Harry himself to Hermione all the way to Albus Dumbledore. Each of the actors did such a great job that I am sadenned to see that this film was not nominated for many Academy Awards. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were adroable and no other kids could have done as good as a job as they did. The castle chosen as Hogwarts was great and presented the witchcraft and wizardry school very well.

This movie serves the book very well and most Harry Potter fans will be very pleased with this. I recommend that you pre-order this DVD so you will be able to watch it when it comes out. Everything in this film was done very well and it seemed like the movie was being played off of Rowling's book. Check this movie out; you'll enjoy it!!!

Happy Viewing!!!

Summary: High Flying Action
Review: This was an extremely well done movie. The music composed by John Williams added an incredible amount to the the movie and the mood was well portrayed. The movie had great special effects that left the viewer looking forward to the next movie. I can't wait for this DVD to be released.

Summary: Made money. Sacrificed the best and lost it all
Review: I agree with some of the peeps who gave a review of harry potter already. The movie is nothing as good as the books. I liked the Harry Potter books, myself. When it was time the movie came out, I didn't want to see it. Once my family made me see it, I complained a lot, like most 14 year old kids do...I was right about everything I had said about this movie. It was mainly a violent movie for kids. The movie made me think about something: Why the heck do they care about what their school does? I would mind my own buisness if there were dogs as tall as the empire state building gaurding a stupid stone! I think most people would!

Worse than that, the acting was horrible. The kids were obviously not that experienced, they forshadowed way too much, and some very cheesy and terrible attempts of humor.

Believe me. This is a kid's movie. Don't get this. This series will be successful, but only because dumb younger kids will drag their parents to the theatres to see the 4 eyes british boy save the world (including the "muggles"). Don't get it!

Summary: Entertaining, but the book is better
Review: The Harry Potter movie is not as good as the book. Daniel Radcliffe plays a good Harry Potter, but he's too cute to be as dorky as Harry Potter is supposed to be! Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) is well-played and she suits the part. Rupert Grint does an amazing job as Ron Weasley, looking and acting the part perfectly. Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid) also looks and acts the part well. Most of the characters are well-played, but the book is something else and the movie is something else. You just can't get the magic of the book with the movie. My advice is see it once at the movie theatre, but don't buy the DVD. Watch it for Harry's sake only.

Summary: Nice try.....
Review: I loved the books, but this movie totally ruined them. While I liked the plot and characters, the acting was horrible! It looked like they just picked any kid off the street and offered them a job....no doubt they actually did that. I went to the movie opening day and paid... to see it, what a mistake!...

Summary: They get points
Review: While I will grant you that the movie seemed a little rushed I thought they did a great job on it. The children were cast perfectly. I saw it twice in theatres and I liked the movie better the second time. It's very difficult to translate a movie into a book but I thought they did an excellent job. While I wish it were longer, what can you do. I just hoping for a director's cut to come out on DVD... The quidditch match was SO COOL!!!!!
Harry Potter rocks.

Summary: Ugh
Review: ...Okay, the books were good. Then came the merchandise... Then came the movie. I went, as most people did, but unlike most people I hated it. The movie was poorly done. I felt like I was in a rollercoaster flying past fake dead bodies, but before I could get a good look I was moved on to the next. By the end of the movie I felt rushed and agitated. It wasn't fun sitting there and trying to figure out exactly what new scene was coming up, because they skipped so many that I got confused about where we were! When movies are done on books that were extremally successful then I think they should put themselves in for a long movie, however long it needs be. If Harry Potter had been an hour longer I think it would have been a better movie. As it is I wouldn't suggest this movie to anyone but hardcore Harry Potter fans. The kind that got their room re-painted with little snitches everywhere. And only own pencils that are 'Harry Potter' pencils. I pray there's no one out there so addicted but *shrugs* who knows.

Summary: As Good As It Gets
Review: <> I have read the first four HP books three times. Love them. I also love the movie. And I also agree with a lot of the "LOW STAR REVIEWS" here on Amazon. BUT, you have to realize that if it were to go JUST LIKE THE BOOK... the movie would have been at least 6 hours long. I don't want to see a movie that long. I also don't want to see three movies that cover the first book. This movie was catered to HP fans. I went to see the movie with two people who never read any HP stuff. I enjoyed it more than they did. I know that the reason I liked it better is the fact that I was familiar with HP's world. You just can't put ALL THAT DETAIL in a movie without making it too long. This is as good as it gets. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because Dudley was not as fat as I had imagined.

Summary: As Ron, me and my friend would say...BLOODY BRILLANT! :-)
Review: Oh my word! This is, without a doubt...the BEST movie i have evr seen! It was sooo great!I really liked how it showed that it is easy to make people feel welcome, especially the 1st years when the older students greeted them when they came in. I thought the two BEST parts in the movie were when Ron says "That was bloody brillant!"....my friend and i LOVE that saying now!...and the part where the troll attacks....(To my friend...We love u troll....lol!) ...even though it must have been awful for poor Hermione! My favourite characters are troll, fluffy, Harry, Ron, and Hermione! In general...this was the most BLOODY BRILLANT movie I have ever seen! ***** all the way! GO TROLL!....LOL!

~Hermione (my nickname! Hehe!)
