Summary: Best movie ever
Review: This movie is great. Me by bein a 10 years old I said this that all the peoples that said that all the movies of Miyazaki are for adult. !That is not true!!!!! because kikki's delivery service is G and dosen't go bad stuff and castel in the sky is PG and it almost dos'n got anything ugly. And now this is true spirited away is not for kids from 3-7 because it got a lot bad stuff for kids from those years you are all right but real wrong because Hayao Miyazaki only make a violent movie."Princes mononoke" in that movie they burn a boar they cut hands and a lot of blood. "That's the only movie that he made violent" None of this movies are violent for kids. Kiki's delivery service, Castel in the sky and the most of all Spirited away. So remember that there is more movies that he made for kids. Now I give more then ten stars to these movie because it got cool parts. Is a copy of princes mononoke. Because the girl was in love whit the boy and the princes was in love whit the man. And they brake the seal spell and they brake the boar spell so thats princes mononoke in kids way so remember these other movies are for kids also.

Summary: So far the best DVD release of the year!
Review: Spirited Away looks and sounds amazing on this new DVD from Disney. What do you know, Disney is holding to its promise to keep Miyazaki's movies in order and perfect. Here are individual reviews on the technical aspects of the DVD:

VIDEO: A+
The video is presented in its original 2.01:1 aspect ratio and is enhanced for 16x9 tvs. The picture quality is much better than I remember it in theaters. The picture is crystal clear and looks fantastic.

AUDIO: A++
The sound is really fantastic. There are 3 audio tracks on this disc: English Dub (the one used in the theatrical release, thank God) and original Japanese dialogue both in 5.1 Dolby Digital (WHY NOT DTS?!) and a French audio track presented in 2.0 Dolby Surround. Anyway, I did not hear the original Japanese dub, but let me tell you that the audio on the English version is amazing. The bass is always bumping whenever a spirit is on screen. The surrounds are very active with surround sound and dialogue is well heard.

That is my take on the first disc. I have not had a chance to view all of the special features but the ones that I did see were good. Get this movie immediately when it is released!

Summary: Miyazaki's Legacy for Children of 10 Now and Always
Review: I adore Hayao Miyazaki. His artistry, his story, he is one of the most influential storytellers of our time. This gentle masterpiece of self-identity and tradition and change will entrance children and there parents. The currently the highest grossing film in Japan of all time (Miyazaki's film Princess Mononoke is in 3rd) can be watched as a beautiful fantasy, but also a deeply profound allogory. It is recommended highly to anyone and everyone. The one sad thing is that Miyazaki-sensei has announced his retirment after the film. But this was an incrediblly touching way to make his final encore. Doumo Arigatou Gozaimasu, Sensei.

Summary: Weird But Amazing
Review: This film is amazing. At first I thought it was too weird to be good with all the spirity stuff, but as the story unfolded it turned to have a rich and creative story. The animation was beautiful and colorful. There was also lots of fast action. Although people might find humans turning into pigs and giant slimy spirits taking baths strange they will still see that this was the best animated film made in years.

Summary: One of the Best
Review: This movie was very well made. I didn't I think I was into this kind of stuff so I only went to it because it was an assignment for the class but it turned out to one of the best movies I've seen.
The colors were very well chosen. The plot was amazing. I think that the plot of this movie could be understood by people of many ages. It was so easy to identify with the characters. And it let your imagination run wild.

I would definitely recomment this movie to anyone.

Summary: Great movie
Review: The story of this movie makes me think, slightly, of Alice in Wonderland, with the girl having to struggle in a world she stumbled into. It's very original and kept surprising me around each corner. Definitely a must see.

Summary: Simply Magical!
Review: I went to watch this movie out of curiosity as it won Year 2003 Academy Award for being the best animation. In terms of its animation, it was splendid. But what made "Spirited Away" so good was its storyline & the ability of the movie to convey its meaning & extracted the emotions out of us. These days, it's so difficult to get emotional out of movies made & acted by humans, let alone an animation movie. But after the end credit rolled, quite a few audience including myself simply wouldn't budge but sat there listening to the theme song & then, we pondered upon the fantasy trip that we just took. Unknowingly, we got teary eyes. The movie started easily enough with the main character, "Sen" -meaning "one thousand" moving to a new city with her new parents. Along the way, they came across an abandoned amusement park. That's where the fun began. Akin to Cinderella, when the morning became evening, the spirits came out & visited the bath house meant to rejuvenate the spirits. Sen was assisted by this mysterious boy called "Haku" to remain in the bath house until the time came for her to rescue her parents & left the place. Along the way, she came across many characters but the "Baba" -meaning granny in Japanese word, the witch that ran the bath house reminded you of the witch from "Wizard of Oz" or even the "Queen" from Cinderella. Unknowing to herself, she helped many spirits along the way & she captivated their hearts. Whilst everybody there was corrupted by greed when a character called "No face" showed up at the bath house, Sen was the one who stood her ground & eventually, saved the day. To cut the story short, from my perspective, this movie reminded us of our beautiful innocence, love conquers all, the phase of growing up & self-belief. I do believe that the Director also tries to preach the message about being kind to our environment for our present state of pollution has destroyed Mother Nature. A magical 2 hours spent and for once, I really thought that I was in another world. Highly recommended.

Summary: Fell in love.
Review: I have never cared for animation since I was a child. Took my granddaughter to this after I read a fabulous review. It was the most creative story and beautiful art work I've seen in a movie. Far superior than your run of the mill Disney. I can understand why they wanted their name on it. Bring us more of these wonderful Japanese productions.

Summary: Classic
Review: "Spirited Away" is a movie showing the power of love and sometimes the trials we endure to achieve true love. The adventure of Chichiro in the land of the spirits builds her self confidence and independence. This is an excellent movie that teaches many lessons for childern and adults alike.

Summary: Oscar winning...and it deserves it
Review: Spirited Away is my fave Miyazaki film right along with Nausicaa Valley of the Wind... there I've said it ^_^ Although not everybody agrees with me, no one can dispute that any Miyazaki film is indeed a work of art.

And obviously the Academy thought so awarding it an Oscar (but to bad no one was there to accept it it was the first of the night as well)

Its a magical tale of a girl (Chihiro) who starts by wallowing in her own problems but through a series of friendships and experiences at a magical bath house, learns to come into her own. This is probably the most I can tell before it turns into a spoiler ^_~

Just to qoute Jonathan Ross (a british film critic) to Elliot Gould: I urge you to go see it, in fact I will take you myself.

Cant think of a better promotion than that ^_^
