Summary: A stunning "MIDRASH"
Review: In keeping with the Jewish tradition of interpreting Torah stories [known as Midrash], Dreamworks takes us on a fabulous journey that brings the characters alive with passion. Some viewers may object to the "demotion" of Aaron, but the elevation of Miriam to her rightful place in the story more than makes up for that. My kids loved it. I loved it too, since it gave us an opportunity to discuss one of the most dramatic stories from Jewish history...the scene where the children leaving Egypt sing "Mi Chamocha" sent chills down my back...to hear such a beautiful Hebrew tune in a major motion picture was thrilling. And Israeli singer Ofra Haza graces the soundtrack several times...a real simcha {joy}. Bruce Birnberg

Summary: One of the best movies of the decade
Review: This is animation and storytelling at it's best. Certainly one of the best films this year, if not this decade. Incredible music, and beautiful background and character design. Amazing.

Summary: this is a neat one
Review: I think this is a great story. It's about a women who has a child and abandons him because the king wanted to find slaves and the women didn't want the king to find out she had a baby son because if he did he would be killed so she put him in a basket and lets it float down the river. Then the queen found it and told the king and the adoped him for there son and then, well you'll see what happens. It's a sad story.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This is a wonderful movie! Unlike most Biblical movies of our day, it is very true to the real story and the great original message isn't lost from it. But the movie ends before Moses' journey does...... or is there a sequal planned? ;-)

Summary: Chill bumping!!!
Review: I had tears in my eyes, I had chills, I was happy, sometimes even all at the same time. My kids (6,9,10) and I each took home something different from The Prince of Egypt. We all understood it in our own ways. We came home and re-read our Children's bible and it came so close to it. I would suggest this to anyone and everyone. The music is so wonderful! :)

Summary: Exciting, Moving, Inspiring
Review: This movie is a true wonder. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical. Most biblical adaptations in Hollywood are obscenely untrue. I was most pleasantly surprised by how close Dreamworks adhered to the actual scriptures. They also put a new spin on the story of Moses. I personally never thought of his relationship with Ramesses, until I saw this movie. The writers did a great job of expressing the pain Moses and Ramesses experienced. A great movie for the entire family. My children loved it. We are all impatiently awaiting the release to DVD of The Prince of Egypt.

Summary: Good Biblical interpretation, possibly not for young kids
Review: I felt that the interpretation of the story of Moses was done very well, but I may disagree with some who say this is a great "family" movie. Just because it is a Biblical story does not make it good for kids. It does deal with issues such as slavery and murder which could be scary for many young children. The animation may not be incredible but I choose a good story over animation any day!

Summary: Better than ANYTHING Disney has done
Review: Unlike Disney movies, this is an excellent cinematic effort - it stands on its own not as just an animated film, but as a feature length film with believable characters and narrative. The best animation, acting, and background design I've ever seen in a movie - and not a single talking animal.......
