Summary: Terrific movie making for any age
Review: When I was eight years old, I saw The Little Mermaid in the theater. I was completely taken in by the animation, the songs, and the fun characters. I rented that movie about twenty times the following summer, but after that, I forgot about it, and didn't see it all the way through until I was seventeen. I watched it with my best friends, and we all enjoyed it just as much as we ever had. The mark of a truly good animated movie is one that adults love just as much as children, and The Little Mermaid can still move me. I still get chills when Ursula sings about poor unfortunate souls, and it brings back that feeling of being a child, without feeling immature. I always say, you are never too old for Disney.

Summary: This is My All-Time Favorite Movie
Review: All right, I will refrain from saying anything bad about people who do not like this movie, hey you're entitled to your opinion. But this has to be my all time favorite animated Disney movie! I have seen it millions of times and it just gets better! I would recommend it to anyone with a young child, though maybe boys woun't like it as much. My 5 yr old brother loves it but he may be in the minority

Summary: This is one of the best Disney animated films!
Review: Other than flying, swimming and actually "living" underwater is another dream so many of us enjoy. This is a wholesome and sweet, happy ending American film, definitely a feel good show! From my three year old to my 33 year old husband, we all sing and enjoy ALL the songs from the totally fantastic soundtrack - it is incredible! My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to be on DVD yet! When it does, I am there!

Summary: Disney's done it again!
Review: About all the hype of "Mulan" being a "children's" film, it's funny to me that it doesn't even come CLOSE to being as juvenile and romantic as "Little Mermaid" (...and the music and animation are much better too!) The Little Mermaid has been one of my favorites since I was a young kid and now I'm growing up on to Mulan! I read somewhere the scene on the two-minute storm took a year to finish, can you believe it!?!

Summary: Walt Disney runs out of steam.
Review: Out of all the modern Disney Classics, this one is definitely the worst (although "Aladdin" and "Beauty and the Beast" run close second). Weak songs, weak story. It will make you a pirate for their days of glory in "The Lion King" and "Hercules."

Summary: Fine animated flick for somewhat older kids
Review: Great animation but parents beware. Some of the scenes are downright frightening for small childern. Furthermore, my wife and I (liberal Democrats at that) were shocked at some of the content. Lines like "you want her" and Ursula referring to Ariel as a "little tramp" made us uncomfortable with having our 3 year old daughter watch. We know kids have to learn about this stuff, but I would prefer not to have to deal with it in a Disney film! We have shelved it for the time being in favor of "The Aristocats"

Summary: A beautiful story with heartfelt memories.
Review: "The Little Mermaid" is quite simply the best movie ever made. Some people may rave about "Aladdin", "Beauty and the Beast", "Mulan", and the others, but this is the winner, no questions about it. It is THE best movie, cartoon, show, etc., ever. Ariel is charmingly sweet and innocent; she has a sense of humor, and is optimistic, intellegent, and stubborn. She believes that the world is basically a good place---which it is. Ursula is the most malovolent, frightening-ly funny Disney villian ever. The crab Sebastian is, well, crabby, but he's a "soft shell" underneath it all. Prince Eric is fairly one-dimensional, like all Disney princes, but he has something none of the others seemed to have had: a sense of humor. Flounder is afraid of his own shadow but will encounter anything for his best friend Ariel. The dog Max is goofy and lovable; the same can be said about the seagull Scuttle. And then there's King Triton. Stern and strict, he obviously loves his little girl Ariel and tries to be a good father to her. Even by helping her to reach her dream, as all good parents do. ----- Don't be mistaken into thinking this is a romance movie. Ariel doesn't want to be human just because she loves Eric; she is also fasinated by the human world and has always dreamed of being human. It's underlying message is: "Reach for your goals, and you CAN be a part of the world that you want to be a part of. Dreams can come true, through hard work." And Ariel DOES have to work for her dreams! ----- I have loved this movie since it first came out when I was seven. I saw it at the theater 6 times (and once more when it was re-released last year), and saw the video well over a hundred times. I just watched it again last night! I have many special memories from this film . . . including the night when my Dad came home from work, very late, because he had spent two or three hours coaming all of Philadelphia to find me a Little Mermaid doll. I was SO happy to see "Ariel" herself at home, with my father grinning all the while. I can still see the scene in my memory. My Dad passed away this year, and I miss him horribly. But I know that he'll always be with me, just like Triton will always be "with" Ariel. And I still have that Little Mermaid doll. ------ See this movie. You'll never forget the music, the humor, and the magic "Under the sea"!

Summary: A Little Girl's Ongoing Classic
Review: The first time I saw this movie was when I was eight years old. I can remember being in Disney World and seeing a preview for it in one of the stores and trying deperately to remember the words to Part of Your World. Now I'm eighteen and just watched it again last weekend. It's a great film and one I know that both boys and girls enjoy. I highly recommend this Disney Classic.

Summary: Disney's Best
Review: I think that the The Little Mermaid is Disney's best movie. I love all of the Disney movies but none as much as The Little Mermaid. Any one who has not seen this movie by now come to earth because is is the best classic you will ever see.

Summary: Greatest Cartoon Ever!
