Summary: How can anyone not like this film?
Review: My wife and I loved this film when it was released and have watched it many times since. Not long ago, I recommended it to a co-worker who had never heard of it and lent her my copy. She kept it for a month, and after a couple of weeks told me she was half-way through it (bad sign). When she finally returned it, all she said was "Interesting" -- plainly implying that she didn't like it. Again I ask -- how can anyone not like this film? My faith in humanity was shaken by her reaction to this wonderful movie.

Summary: Never seen this movie??!? Inconceivable!
Review: Excellent fairy tale. A very humorous movies but can't really call it a comedy. A lusiously produced fantasy done with tongue-in-cheek and a knowing wink at the audience. If you liked "A Knights Tale" then check this out.

Summary: The Princess Bride
Review: This is one of my top ten all-time favorites! I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. The book is also excellent. It's got everything packed into it--romance, action, comedy--and everyone from young to old will enjoy it. Even with new movies coming and going, this one remains within the top ten! I recommend it to everyone--you won't be disappointed!

Review: The book is ten times better. At least.

Summary: My all time best ever film
Review: This is a film that everyone should have in their collection...Its the last of the true fairytale 'feel good'films. I've read the book (both the original best seller and the more entertaining adapted version) and this is one of the few films that do the books justice. Watch the film and for years to come you'll be in a situation and think "what would the man in Black do now?"..."what would Indigo Montoya say???" Just watch the film and return to childhood dreams..

Summary: LEGENDARY!
Review: This is a must-see for everyone! I have been a fan of PRINCESS BRIDE since I was a little girl back in the late 1980s. This film has everything from love and romance to comedy and laughter. Now as an adult, watching this film as an added value. I can enjoy the sceneary, the script-writing, the actors' portrays and of course the great irony!

I remember the first time I watched Forrest Gump, I couldn't help but feel like I recognized the actress who played Jenny (Mandy Patinkin). That's when I remembered! She played Buttercup in PRINCESS BRIDE. That's what made me go out and buy this DVD. I highly recommend this film . . . you will be reciting the one-liners for a long time. This is one of those films you will re-watch and discover new things everytime you watch it.

Summary: How it should have been done the first time
Review: This isn't the first time the Princess Bride has been released on dvd and if you're browsing around you might see the original still on sale. DO NOT BUY THE ORIGINAL. This Special Edition DVD is superior in almost every way. If you own a widescreen you'll especially appreciate the anamorphic transfer and there's plenty of other features to justify it for 4:3 owners too.

Summary: Intelligent Fun
Review: Cary Ewles has my deepest admiration for this. All the actors in this movie do. Driven by an incredibly intelligent and tight script, this movie leaves you laughing as it demands your attention and respect for it's wit and occasional subtle seriousness. If it were poorly done it would be ridiculous. The sets are purposely set-like, the costumes mundane, and the various obsticles stereotypically "once upon a time", but together they make happy magic. Every line is superbly delivered and the zing of fun never leaves. You KNOW it's a fairy tale, it SAYS it's a fairy tale, but what it really is is a never-tiring comedy that works for all ages, and will probably make you laugh and sigh. It works like it's hero, with "wit, steel, and speed".

Summary: "A Hot Fairy Tale"
Review: Just as said in the "Good Parts" version book by William Goldman, it has fencing, fighting, torture, poison, true love, hate, revenge, giants, hunters, bad men, and so much more. For those of you who like fairy tales, this is a great movie. I first saw it while flipping through the channels, and when I came upon it, I had no clue what it was called, but I started watching it, and I guess I really got into it. It is the perfect fairy tale for people of all ages.
