Summary: A great movie!
Review: This movie was great. The actors were great. Everything was so realistic. It was like you were standing right there in the middle of everything. Dobby looked so real. This movie is filled with adventure and action. People of all ages will love it, I'm telling you. There's not one boring part in it. Once one exciting thing is over, another exciting adventure begins. If you want a movie with numerous adventures in it, realistic creatures, magic, suspense, wonder, and action in it, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is the movie to get.

Summary: Return of the innocent boy gone franchise!
Review: I thought Warner Bros would fix the problems Sorcerer's Stone had but it didn't. The beginning of the movie has an emotional photograph moment- though it didn't re-introduce Harry was an orphan. It looked like he was living with a foster family wishing he was back with his parents. We then have a rushed talk with Dobby and we never really see Harry is locked in his bedroom. The Weasleys were not as inviting and kind as in the books. We rush to Diagon Alley and meet Lockhart and again we meet the problem that there is no real reason that Harry is famous except again that he is a franchise in the muggle world! By half an hour into the film classes start though it seems like an hour. The classes run through all the facts about mandrakes but who cares; the HP fans already know mandrakes are fatal! We have to run through the facts throughout the film though we already know them. A lot of time that could be used to demonstrate emotion is wasted. Emotion in this film is a little stronger but not by a lot. This film is, if possible, is boringer then the first. I wonder how Warner Bros turned magic packed books into a long boring drawl. And why did they take the cool spells of the dueling class and turned them into Olympic acrobatic stunts? If the spells were as those in the books the movie would be a lot less boring. The odd behavior of Ginny is never introduced except twice (wait, she's only sitting and writing in the diary. Steve Kloves!). When Tom Riddle explains stuff in the climax it is rushed so fast even people who have read Chamber of Secrets 10 times were met with confusion. After a cheesy (and in my opinion, juvenile) ending, you get a stale taste in your mouth as when you eat something dry. Warner Bros. still created a bunch of kiddy toys for this one. Really! Would a twelve year old boy want all that junk about him for sale? I have good authority in saying a whole new boat of kid's junk will be released along with Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry is thirteen! He is in adolescence! Five-year-old kid toys and a thirteen year old boy is not a good pair. Beware Warner Bros., the franchise will collapse very, very soon and the only way to avoid that is getting rid of all that stupid merchandise by Prisoner of Azkaban (and if it actually continues on with Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix collapse is obviously imminent). Warner Bros. just needs to realize Harry Potter IS NOT A KID FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

Summary: Middle-age fan
Review: Unlike the fans of Middle Earth, I am on earth and middle-aged, and this Harry Potter movie has me hooked.Darker than the first film, with more mature characters and a less "golly gee" scripts, this film is more intelligent, more exciting, and better-paced than most adult-oriented action/adventure films. This movie inspired me to read the books, and I must say, I am impressed with the filmmaker's ability to stay faithful to the story while still presenting an entertaining film.

Summary: Better than the first!
Review: Okay, I'll admit, I wasn't too crazy over the first Harry Potter movie. Sure, it was pretty nice when it first came out, but it isn't one of those movies that I'll watch over and over again. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets definitely is a movie I could watch over and over again. The acting is brilliant. It doesn't look fake; it looks very realistic, as if this were a real life scene and not a movie. The spell effects are awesome. Not once does the movie get boring. Each scene kept me staying on my seat to see what happened next when I first saw the movie. Moaning Myrtle (sp?) was adorable. I like her a lot. The basilisk is definitely the coolest creature ever! The giant spider Aragon (Sorry, can't spell for my life) is very neat too. Actually, that whole scene in the forest is awesome. All in all, I found this a great movie with plenty of action, a dash of mystery, great actors and actresses who make the movie seem real, and neat special effects that don't look phony.

Review: With the first movie I was not please with how much it was unlike the book, this one is different, it's like following the book word by word, letter by letter, till it's not hard to enjoy!!!

Summary: All you expect...
Review: Movie fans have come to expect a lot of extras on the DVD release of movies and this edition of the Harry Potter series provides them. In addition to an extended version of the movie (the usual extra scenes) you get background interviews with the actors, some DVD fun activities such as exploring the Hogwarts environs and some (Windows based) PC extras that kids will appreciate. The picture and sound quality are good though the DVD menu might be a little hard for younger kids to traverse at first.

Summary: Wonderfully done, but...
Review: I am one of those people who will always like books better, no matter what. I believe the book draws you into the story more, really portrays the fear Harry is feeling. This is most likely quite difficult to do for a novice actor, but maybe something could have been incorporated into the script. Also, one of my favorite scenes in the book, Nearly Headless Nick's deathday party was not included. It would have been great to see more of John Cleese... can you guess I'm a Monty Python fan? The movie was surely much darker than the book seemed. If this is the second book, I can't imagine the movie for the fourth (though I hear it isn't going to be made). Maybe it is just the castle, or the fact that there's a snake going through the plumbing, I don't know. I do love the Weasleys' house, and Diagon Alley especially. I think Hagrid played a bigger role in the book, however, as did Professor Lockhart (who is my favorite character in the books, aside from Lupin, and all the Weasleys). It would have been great to see more of the signed picture thing... I really loved that. But aside from these points, this was a great movie. Hope the third is just as good, or better, seeing how it is my favorite.

Summary: Great movie, but chopped up.
Review: I'll see the Harry Potter movies no matter how chopped up they are. This movie, they cut out the way Ginny was acting strangely, they cut out the part where they found out Percy has a girlfriend, and they cut out the part where Harry has to do all that work. It is still a wonderful movie. I can't wait to see Azkaban.

Summary: First film was way better but...
Review: The first harry potter film was way better but the same can be said for the books in my opinion. The 2nd book chamber of secrets was my least favorite so i should have figured the film wouldn't be great since the book kinda [stunk] compared to the others. They did a good job on alot of the CGI were the film did lack in SS.

Summary: My young kids love the movie
Review: Harry Potter is such a classic. It still amazes me when people of all ages enjoy the movies all the same. My two kids of 3 and 5 begged me to show them HP2 last night after they had finished watching the first HP on DVD. I was afraid that they were too young, but they told me monsters are not real. After their confirmations that they were not afraid of snake and nothing would possibly leave the screen, I played the DVD for them. They were too young to understand of Harry's parents' murder, but they knew of Harry's bravery and friendship. "Harry is not afraid of anything", they said. "He is so brave". That was the message they got after finished viewing the movie along with the laughter after seeing Hermione with tail. Watch it if you have not already and let your kids watch it too. This movie is truly for people of all ages.
