Rating: Summary: Something For Everyone Review: This is seriously the best movie ever made (who cares about Citizen Kane? just kidding). I have not yet met someone who did not like this movie the first few times they saw it. This would be WHY there are 175 reviews with an AVERAGE of 5 stars each. This is a great family movie, even 6 year old boys will like it(attn, babysitters)! I first saw it at 7 or 8 and now own a very worn out copy. This is the best movie for everyone, and I will now join the Princess Bride praising club!
Rating: Summary: Inconceivably wonderful Review: I saw this film in high school and fell instantly in love. Besides the hysterical farce, on top of the lovely scenery, way beyond the memorable lines... was Westley. :) Man, is Cary Elwes gorgeous. LOL. One of my all time favorite films. It's never stale. I can watch it again and again and still come away with a huge smile on my face. Buy it, watch it, love it. Or the Dread Pirate Roberts will come for your soul!
Rating: Summary: The best movie of all time! Review: How can you fault a movie with a great cast, excellent dialogue, action, romance, Andre the Giant as, well, a Giant, Cary Elwes, Billy Crystal, Inigo Montoya, "Inconceivable", the cliffs of Insanity, Buttercup, Mawaige, and the end all be all classic death challenge from the Spaniard, "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die." When I watch the film (for the 100th time)I witness a great film, and glimpse the sheer comic brilliance of William Goldman's script, compounded with the excellent cast to bring about an unending string of hilarious scenes that end giving me the feeling Andre was jipped out of an Oscar. Just him saying the rhymes with Inigo should have been enough. You will be able to incorporate the classic lines, especially those by Vizzini, Westley, Inigo, and, well, everybody into your everyday speech and keep yourself if not everybody else in stitches.
Rating: Summary: As You Wished, A Perfect Film Review: This movie gets better with each repeated viewing, as it shows how well-executed this movie is, in terms of storyline, characters, humor, and action. No matter with whom you watch this movie - from your niece to your boss - you'll never be embarrassed but only end up inconceivably entertained.
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: What a great movie. I first saw this movie in '91' and it took till '98' to find it. Great for the young and old. Another movie on the same line is Robin Hood,Men in tights.
Rating: Summary: The best film ever!!! Review: I must say that I think that this is the greatest movie ever to be made. Ever. Who can't when you've got Princess Buttercup who's in love with the Dread Pirate Roberts? A truly splendid movie, and if you don't like it, well, that's your problem. You'll laugh, cry, and probably kiss three bucks goodbye if you go out and rent it. It's got everything: Action, adventure, revenge, true love, miracles, good men, bad men, lots of swell escapes, lots of swell captures, and generally everything that makes a movie good.
Rating: Summary: A decent flick, but the book was MUCH better! Review: About ten years ago, I used to watch this movie CONSTANTLY. Then I promptly forgot about it. About two years ago, I bought William Goldman's abridged version of the book, and loved it to death. I still read it at least once a week. What I'd like to know is WHY did they take out all of the good parts of the book when they decided to make the movie? There are so many deliciously great parts of the book that were totally cut from the movie, or even just a few lines missing. I understand that they need to make the book fit into a couple of hours, but come on! This is one of the greatest movies ever...if you haven't read the book.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: This is my favorite movie. I am a guy, but I think it appeals to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Rob Reiners best yet! Review: This movie is a hot-shot ho-dum ringer! the scenery is dazzling and the acting is superb!
Rating: Summary: A wonderful fairy tale for all ages. Review: This is my all time favorite movie. The movie closely follows the book (great reading) and brings the characters alive. It is a classic where good triumphs over evil, magic wins over logic and love never dies.
