Rating: Summary: Special movie Review: When my husband and I first met we watched this movie with some friends. The next day flowers arrived for me and all the card said was "As You Wish". It was so sweet! It was after that we started dating.. I love this movie!
Rating: Summary: You haven't seen this? Inconceivable! Review: Truly a classic. The cast members were perfectly suited for their respective roles. The witty remarks scattered throughout the movie will keep you smiling for weeks to come. Billy Crystal's part is great ("Have fun stormin' the castle!"), Fezzik and Inigo's rhymes, although annoying to Vezzini, are entertaining to say the least. Watching this movie will have you wishing to feel sharp steel in your hand, a Brute at your back, and an albino in your wheelbarrow.Yes, the book really does exist -- I got the 25th anniversary of the abridged William Goldman edition (right here, as a matter of fact) -- and it follows the story line very closely. Goldman includes his own opinions on the story, which are helpful but sometimes a bit imposing. But it's worth reading for the true lovers of this film!
Rating: Summary: Greatest Comedy and Romance I Have Ever Seen............ Review: This has got to be the best comedy romance mixture film I have ever seen. The obstacles Westley, Cary Elwes, goes through to save Buttercup are romantic but yet at the same time very hilarious. If you have not seen this movie I do say it is "a must see!"
Rating: Summary: Want to see a great movie? As you wish ... Review: This movie is one of the best I've ever seen. The cast is superb, particularly Cary Elwes as Westley. One of the most quotable movies made, the script is well-written and funny. The story captures the essence of the fairy tale, purporting to make fun of it, but in the end, glorifying it. An absolute must-see.
Rating: Summary: The Princess Bride Review: The Princess Bride is the very sort of movie that appeals to the imagination and humor of both adults and children. It is a romance and a fantasy, but is it also a social critique and a cynical view on the predictable morals found in most other fairy tales? A quick internet search reveals that not only has the movie attracted a massive cult following, but there is also a popular drinking game based on the movie's now famous dialogue! Silly people dressed in silly clothes doing silly things, and yet there is a dignity to the soft-spoken Westley as he proclaims his love for Buttercup. The noble Spaniard and the bumbling giant are heartwarming and amusing in their friendship, and never before have two screen buddies fit together so well. Meanwhile, the background and scenery in the movie is breathtaking, and the musical score with its childlike dramatical stylings bring this fantasy to life in a way that will make you want to watch it over and over again. I heartily recommend this movie to everybody, as it is one of my favorites.
Rating: Summary: MY FAVORITE MOVIE! Review: My college roomates hated me because I forced them to watch this movie about twice a week. It is my all-time favorite movie! This adult fairy tale is a beautiful love story as well as an action-adventure comedy. Having a bit of everything, you will not be bored for one second. And each time I watch it, I notice something new. I will never tire of watching this amazing film. WATCH IT!
