Summary: Quite simply a really nice film
Review: Great story, great characters and an overall great family film.

Basically a love story/fantasy adventure. Presented cleverly as a story read by a grandfather to his grandson (though I think I could cope with the film just on it's own)

Ex-wrestler "Andre The Giant", who strangely plays the giant, is particularly fantasic and should be in more films in my opinion!!

Conclusion: Great film though can be a bit too nice in parts.

Summary: Movie and DVD Review.
Review: "The Princess Bride" is one of the best 80's movies ever made! Robin Wright and Cary Elwes are wonderful together! The movie is a classic fairy tale, with a beautiful and lovely princess, giants, swordplay, an evil king, and of course, some kissing. The story was read by the grandfather in the movie played by Peter Falk. The Special Edition DVD is amazing! The picture and sound quality are wonderful! The extras are awesome including the 2 1987 featurettes, the "As You Wish" Documentary, the video diary by Cary Elwes, and the trailers and TV spots. "The Princess Bride" is a movie for all ages to watch and enjoy! Excellent!

Summary: Swearing TOTALLY unnecessary
Review: It's not that the movie doesn't have redeeming moments, and it's mostly a fun watch, however, right near the end one character said "you s.o.b" (except without the initials). I found that line of dialog ruinous. For me, a PG movie with no warning of foul language should nave none. Though I realize we are not in Disneyland, to me it was extraneous and totally unnecessary. Yes, I'd have kept the DVD for our family library, were it not for that flaw. To me, it was a fatal one.

Otherwise, or if you have a higher tolerance for foul language than I, the movie is a rip-snorting laugh-fest.

Summary: Unique and wonderful
Review: The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorites. It is a somewhat mixed up fairytale with humor, action, and romance - all of the ingrediants required to make it a favorite of guys and girls alike. The script is chock full of quotable lines, and the characters are original and memorable. A wonderful movie!

Summary: A gem of a movie
Review: One of the few movies I've ever seen that I loved enough to own and watch again and again...and again! All the charm of a fairytale, with enough of an edge to keep it from being sappy. Billy Crystal's hilarious cameo as "Miracle Max" is classic! This is probably my Favorite Movie of All Time.

Summary: A little bit of everything!
Review: If you've read the book this film is based on, you'll notice some pretty stark differences. Honestly I think the differences are for the better because the film doesn't spend dozens of pages are rather useless descriptions. When I think of Rob Reiner I still see him "meathead" but his work as a director is excellent. This movie has everything -- adventure, romance, monsters, wicked plots, intellectual and physical humor, great music and beautiful customs and backgrounds. Sadly the two principle stars of the film have never quite "made it big" in holiday.

Summary: Hilarious romantic comedy!
Review: This is a great movie in the Monty Python-ish style of humor and in some ways it's even superior to Monty Python. There are moments of true drama interlaced in this movie, and although the movie pokes fun at a lot of things, it particularly belittles the evil guys.

Conversely, the heros take life seriously and treat concepts like love and friendship and justice with the utmost respect.

Very refreshing.

Summary: When you want to be young at heart.
Review: Have you ever tried to recapture how you felt when your heard a great story for the first time...you know, the wide-eyed amazement you fell as sounds and pictures flow through your head. You can't wait to hear it again and again. This movie does that for me. Whenever I want to feel young and innocent I watch it. It has everything a good fairy tale should have...adventure, mystery, comedy, and of course, happily ever after.

Children young and old can appreciated the magic and mystery behind the story. I can't wait to share it with my kids someday.

Summary: Classic Fairytale w/ a twist
Review: Not to be taken seriously.... great movie, lots of giggles and lots of fun to watch.
