Summary: Great Fun Movie!
Review: I rented this movie for a 3yr old and a 6yr old, expecting an updated retelling of the Grimm Fairytale. It was a whole lot better. The movie had some new characters and fun twists! The movie visually entertained my 3yr old, and my 6yr old loved the story and I loved the fun quirks and joke references. In a world where precious little is simply plain fun entertainment - this movie rocks! We will be purchasing this DVD and probably giving a few as gifts!

Summary: Great Movie!!
Review: I saw this movie in a magazine and had wanted it for awhile. Finally I got it. I LOVED it. It is really funny and is a good movie. It's a little scary for younger kids though. I think the actors were great and some of the modern twists in it were two cool, the jokes were funny and it wasn't boring like the regular story is. I really recomend this movie!! My cousin watched 10 times in a week!!!

Summary: A great scary movie for all kids
Review: My 3 year old son has always liked the Hansel & Gretel story and when he saw this movie advertised on TV he had to have. Although the movie is much different from the story it is alot of fun. It has monsters and an evil stepmom. Since we got the movie it has been watched over and over. I would be very suprised if this movie does not become a big seller by word of mouth.

Summary: Not for Adults
Review: My husband and I often enjoy fairy tales and the like. This was an exception. I will admit that 5-11 year olds probably love this, but why suffer thru it with them. If you like this lame movie you'll probably like The Magic of the Leprechauns too. If you want some clever script-writing, adult laughs, and decent acting in the genre, get Jack and the Beanstalk (The Real Story), Tenth Kingdom, or Snow White: The Fairest of them All.

Summary: One of the worst movies I've seen
Review: My husband and I watched it with our 6 and 3 year old. We ALL thought this movie was hilarious! Keep in mind though that it is silly and pretty corny but I think that's what makes it so funny. Beware there are is lot of gaseous humor. :) My kids watched this about four times in two days! It has the classic Hansel and Gretel story with a bit of a Halloween touch. We all thought it was great and we will definatly be adding this to our collection.

Summary: One of the worst movies I've seen
Review: My wife and I watched this with our two children. What a stinking pile of something that stinks and sits in a pile. I can't even begin to tell about the bad things, because it's ALL bad. I can't think of one redeaming thing about this movie. Oh wait, yes I can: Lynn Redgrave. Her performance was outstanding. Everyone else was wasted. Howie Mandel (who I really like), was weak. Bobcat's voice sounded like he was tired (or bored) with the whole thing.

Ug.

Bad screen-play, bad acting, bad music = bad bad bad bad bad. I think the Cat in the Hat is the only movie I've seen recently that stunk more.

Summary: Stupid. Boring Plot but my 3 year old loves it.
Review: The characters are grating...the writing feels like its trying WAY TOO HARD (ie...forcing in current cultural jokes that fall flat). The best word I can find to describe this movie is annoying....no Stupid. No silly. I'm not sure which but its really hard to sit through as an adult. That said my 3 year old thinks its great and requests to watch it again and again.

Summary: Hansel and Gretel
Review: This is a great satire on the traditional version of Hansel and Gretel! My grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed viewing this video together. He enjoyed the unique characters and I enjoyed the subtle humor of the dialogue. Delta Burke was the perfect evil step-mother and what a witch Vanessa Redgrave made! The closing line delivered by Delta Burke was priceless. All the actors did a fantastic job in making this version of Hansel and Gretel a movie to add to your collection.
