Rating: Summary: Sad Movie Review: My Dog Skip is a great movie that I enjoyed. Even though at the end it was a little touchy and we all shed some tears, it was an enjoyable flick for all kids to see.

Rating: Summary: A GREAT MOVIE FROM THE HEART! Review: A very touching film for all ages. Great story telling and wonderful acting brings this wonderful tale to life. A story every one can relate to. From a town hero, who runs away when he was afraid, to a lonely boy who just needs a friend. My Dog Skip has everything you every wanted and more. The picture on the DVD was prefect. Sound was great. I love the deleted scenes (even more heart warming scenes, including one by 'Forest Gump' author Winston Groom.) This movie is a sure bet!
Rating: Summary: Good movie for kids................ Review: This was, a good kids movie Kevin Bacon doesn't play those kind of, roles well, it is based on, a true story sad too of course, some swear words....Well kids will, love this so will adults.
Rating: Summary: A Touching Film to Identify With... Review: To be honest, the only reason i started to see this film was because the dog reminded me of one from my own life that had passed away (Yoyo)...however, many viewers will find much to identify with, dog lover or not... the film immediatley drew my whole family in with it's nostalgic look at youth and the lessons learned...and the narration in the film brings wisdom, which will echo many of our own thoughts as we grow older and will strike multiple emotional chords...the deep bond between the dog and the boy is merely a vehicle in which to display the passing of childhood and the lessons learned...I agree with a previous commment that this a film to own, because it is one that captures many moments that most of us can identify with...it will surley become a classic of it's genre...and I think it even transcends it's genre...it's truly American cinema at it's best...and should prove to be a film that will grow richer with repeated viewings...
Rating: Summary: Heartwarming Family Entertainment. Review: I don't think that anyone who has seen this film, can say a bad thing about it. The story involves a young boy (Malcolm in the Middle's Frankie Muniz) and his friendship with his dog Skip. He doesn't have many friends, so he becomes best friends with his new dog. The story takes place in a Mississippi suburb during WW2. His friendship with his dog teaches him many things along the way. It's a comming of age story about growing up as a kid and having one true friend, then looking back at your childhood. This story is very touching, and anyone sensitive will definately need some kleenex because it is an uplifting teer jerker. It's good to see that a movie doesn't need sex, violence, or language to be genuinely good (although the movie has a couple of mild words, and stuff that may scare children under 5). On the DVD, there are 2 nice commentaries. One by Frankie Muniz and the dog trainer, and another by the director. Very informitive and it increaces the replay value of the movie. If you're looking for a good, uplifting, innocent story: buy this movie, you won't be dissapointed. Highly reccomended.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This is one of my favorite movies from the past year. I think Frankie Muniz should get an Oscar nom for his performance. The director really lucked out in getting this kid, and right before he hit it big with MALCOLM! They just don't make movies like this anymore --the shot with Muniz and the dog running through a field, silhouetted against a glorious sky, reminded me of THE YEARLING. The scene where the grown up Willie gets on the bus for college, mom and dad wave as the bus pulls away, then they turn and walk off, and we see the little dog sitting on the sidewalk watching the bus disappear down the road ---I lose it right about there! And I mean lose it BIG TIME! This is one of those movies you don't rent, you BUY IT because you are going to want to watch it again and again!
Rating: Summary: IGNORE MIKE PHILLIPS!THIS FILM IS EXCELLENT! Review: "My Dog Skip" is a very touching film based on a true story.Willie Morris(Frankie Muniz:Malcolm In The Middle)receives a Jack Russell Terrier by the name of Skip for his ninth birthday. The film gives you a glimpse into life during World War 2.But that's beside the point. It's hard to make a movie that brings tears to my eyes. This one did that and alot more. Not everything in this movie was realistic.BIG WHOOP!Was Star Wars realistic? I DON'T THINK SO! No doubt someone complained about that not being realistic, but since when do movies have to be realistic? Mike Phillips,it's people like yourself that ruin a good movie like "My Dog Skip" for all those people who have not seen the movie yet.I bought this movie at Wal-Mart without bothering to rent it first or see it at the theater.I read the review on the back and I knew I had picked out a winner.I'm not going to give away the ending seeing how an editorial reviewer already did that.I will tell you, however, that this movie will send you through all of your emotions from extreme happiness to some of the worst heartache you will ever experience from watching a movie.I recommend this movie to anyone who can watch a movie and forget about what fictional events were in the movie.Your rating system does not allow me to give this movie the number of stars it deserves.THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!
