Summary: Great movie - DTS is superbe
Review: The story is simply great. Regarding the sound, this was my first DTS DVD and I was really astonished by the quality delivered by this disc. Every single detail of the soundtrack can be heard (I.e the buzz of the electronic components in the LEM module can be heard), transitions between all the speakers are smooth and powerful. Much much better than the AC-3 soundtrack. I recommend DTS to everybody. The bad point: there are not enough title yet in DVD.

Summary: dts -- WOW!
Review: This movie is a must own for any movie collector and what better way to have it than on the most incredible audio format for the home I've heard yet! dts yields more depth and clarity and is truely amazing. The only thing Dolby Digital has on dts is the selection.

Summary: Excellent movie, the sound and story are great.
Review: You won't be wasting your money on this one. Tom Hanks, as usual, puts in an excellent performance. The story is about as true as you get to everyday life - not all things can be planned for, and bad things happen to good people. The movie is well written, produced, and directed. It is a classic in my book. The Right Stuff and Top Gun are not as good as this movie. You will watch it time and time again.

Summary: Excellent use of the DVD format, shows what you can do.
Review: They have created a piece of history here. The DVD not only has the movie on it, but it also includes an hour long featurette, voice overs by Ron Howard and Jim Lovell and his wife and lots of other facinating info.

Summary: Great Movie made even better with the addition of DTS
Review: One of my favourite movies ... seen it in both Dolby Digital 5.1 ... waited for the DTS version ... and it certainly was worth the waiting for !!! Not to be missed addition to your slowly growing library of DTS DVD's.

Summary: Extraordinary!
Review: I loved this movie. It was very moving, special and an amazing tribute to a lot of very brave men and women. It was extremely compelling to see it from the astronaut's point of view even though in the real world all we heard on Earth were their barely audible voices.

I cry every time I watch this movie (which has been many times)...I never get tired of it. The movie is a tribute to teamwork not often seen.

Summary: Great video and sound quality, great story!
Review: This movie already attract me a long time ago! I had brought this movie's LD and DVD. Finally, it launch the dts version DVD! I can tell you the video and sound quality are really shock me. The good SF make this movie is very reality, and the actor's are the best choice to present the characters.

If you do have dts theater audio equipment, you can not miss this one! the dts version will present you more sound detail, and best environment effect that you ever hear.

Summary: Great movie, Disappointing disc
Review: I assume you've seen the movie, so I'll confine my comments to the disc. Picture is good, but not quite the best I've seen on a DVD. The DTS sound quality is great, but there's disappointingly little info to the surrounds. Mostly silence or some background music, even in scenes where you would clearly expect something. (For example, in the missle hanger scene where Hanks is conducting a tour, a section is lowered onto the rocket, producing a loud boom. There is nothing of the boom in the surrounds, even though such a sound would obviously reverberate throughout the building.) Absolutely no extras, not even a threatrical trailer. I'm not at all convinced that any improvement in the sound quality is worth giving all of the extras on the other version of this DVD.
