Summary: great movie
Review: I saw the movie on the first night (in Pasadena) and the audience was clearly caught up by the excitement of the discovery, as protrayed in the movie. The crowd cheered when it was revealed that a second alien device was built and Ellie gets to go on it.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This movie is totally outstanding. Finally, a movie that makes some sort of sense when science is involved. Unlike, armageddon which made me sick becuase it was totally unbelieveable.

Summary: A Masterpiece that makes religion and science CONTACT
Review: Contact was one of the best movies that I have ever seen in my life. It is not just a thrilling science fiction movie. It extends beyond the limits of science fiction making the audience think about the human nature and the relationship between science and religion. Contact features an interesting relation between an astronomer and a "priest". In the end, it shows how these two opposite sides can easily contact. The audio commentaries by Jodie Foster and Rob Zemeckis are also very interesting since you get an insight on the background of the movie. I highly recommend this movie and I'm sure you'll never get bored watching it.

Summary: Disappointing ending
Review: The previews hyped this film so much. I had so many expectations trying to imagine what it would be once contact was established. This ending is all they came up with? What a waste!

Summary: Awesome, intriguing, fantastic!
Review: This went on my list for my favorite movies of all time. I liked how they left things up to the viewers interpretation, as no one knows what happens when we die anyway. The scene on the beach was the most beautiful cinematic vision I think I've ever seen.

Summary: One of the most underrated films of the decade.
Review: First off, I love this film. It made me think, which very few 90's films can do, and it was a great story as well. I think that because this film was directed by Robert Zemekis (a hollywood hitmaker) and had such great special effects, that this film was treated lightly. I think that Contact is a phenomenal film that explores a philosophy other than love, and that makes it unique. Since no one else has mentioned them, I want to send kudos to David Morse (Ellie's father) and James Woods (that jerk security adviser) for great performances. Morse is maybe a little sweet, but does a great job, and Woods gives probably his best performance. These two great supporting characters add a lot to Contact.

Summary: Wow!
Review: Fans of Carl Sagan, rejoice! You can practically hear the man's voice througout Contact. I've read all of his books (including reading Contact literally eight times), so I'm a bit biased towards enjoying this movie, but it presents such a wonderful combination of sci-fi, drama, action, and every other genre ever made... It's simply an incredible film.

Summary: Foster is fantastic but.........
Review: Even though the concept of the movie is evident from the start, the acting superb, there is only one thing that bothers me. in most of her movies (Fosters) she is protrayed as strong willed, forcefull, capable of any challenge but here she seems almost to timid in the way she approaches her character. Skeritt who was just as good as the character you don't like, runs roughshod all over from the start of the movie to the end. I was just a little disappointed in that. Otherwise it rates as a "top shelf" movie in my collection.
