Summary: Absolutely one of the funniest "true" movies I've seen.
Review: Not only did I grow up in the area of Cleveland, OH (not Indiana) where this was filmed, but I was also about the same age at about this same time. Jean Shepard has consistantly captured the feeling and and real flavor of a by-gone era. Bob Clark, Darin McGavin, Malinda Dillon have all done a marvelous job of bringing the past to life. This is a funny, funny movie that will forever be a classic as long as my generation is around. Everything from the local bully to the winter icicles rings with truth. Hurray for the Bumpuses dogs!

Review: Once in a great while a movie comes along that pleasantly surprises us, and this is one of them. I first saw this movie at a friend's family's house (who always had videos playing) during the holidays, and have seen it popping up more and more every year. It deserves the overdue recognition. This is the kind of movie where it doesn't matter where you come in, you'll watch until it's over. Highly recommended.

Summary: The best Christmas movie ever!
Review: From the first time I watched this movie I was in love. Ralphie and his obsession with a Red Ryder BB gun is classic. I think that everyone can relate to Ralphie's Old Man and his mother. Randy the little brother is a hoot to. I watch this movie all year round. I laugh ever time I watch it. I think that everybody should have this movie it makes a very good Christmas present

Review: As long as I can remember, I have waited each year for the many good christmas classics that are shown on television during the season. A Christmas Story, however, simply surpasses all the rest with its offbeat jokes, and down to earth humor. I have never been able to sit through It's A Wonderful Life, but I could watch a Christmas Story 1,000 times.

Summary: A Definite Christmas Tradition
Review: This classic has become a Christmas tradition in our house. Not to be viewed until the day after Thanksgiving, we look forward to our last bites of turkey ans stuffing. The 24-hour marathon last Christmas Eve kept us company while we wrapped gifts well into the night. Except for a few swear words (the movie would NOT be the same without them), I recommend this movie for the entire family. It should be a part of your permanent video collection.

Review: The best Christmas comedy ever made. Set in the 40s, those of us growing up in the 60s could easily identify with the themes of "A Christmas Story". This film should be required Christmas viewing.

Summary: This is THE Christmas classic!
Review: I cannot recall the first time I saw this video, but for as long as I CAN recall, it has been my absolute favorite holiday movie. Move over Rudolph and the Grinch. This one is hysterical. Warped? Yes, and twisted, but so funny that you can't help laughing until you cry. If you've never seen this, then you MUST get it. Kids laugh at alot of it, but it's definitely one that the adults will fall over laughing at. I triple dog dare you to watch it and not laugh. <g>

Summary: The Age of Innocence
Review: ... with this movie, you go back to the good old days when Peter's biggest concern (as Ralphie, the character he played in the film) was getting "an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle" for Christmas, despite everyone (even a department-store Santa) telling him he'd put his eye out.It's a flight of fancy, incredibly funny, and a movie with which anyone who was ever a little boy can identify. Definitely one of those movies that needs to be pulled out and viewed every Christmas along with classics like "It's a Wonderful Life".
