Summary: Bad transfer ruined this one for me
Review: Classic movie, but non-widescreen transfer that suffers from "wavy-ness" and other odd defects really ruined it for me. Also mono sound! Argh

Summary: Very disappointing holiday film
Review: I just watched "A Christmas Story" and was very disturbed by it. It takes place in the 1940s (I think), but it is not at all like "Miracle on 34th Street", which was made in the 1940s. There is a lot of violence in this film (hitting, beating, slapping) and worst of all, profanity. The boy in the movie has a fantasy of getting an air rifle and killing crooks. In this age of gun violence, this is the last thing that kids or adults need to see. I would not recommend this movie to anyone. And if this movie is about Christmas, I certainly couldn't tell.

Summary: Cute, hilarious, realistic
Review: I advise that anyone who was ever a child.A truly sweet comedy which realistically portrays a real family Christmas. This is not a sappy movie either; you'll be glad to know that, unlike most family movies, it does not make you puke. This movie has the makings of a classic!

Summary: Great Movie, OK DVD
Review: This is a holiday clasic! Hilariously funny look back at one Indiana boy's Christmas in the 1950's.

I would have liked to see this in widescreen format.

Summary: A Christmas Story
Review: Peter Billingsley and his family are not just figments of Jean Shephard's imagination. They are real; they are understanding, kind, vulnerable, and very funny. This is one of our favorite videos--for all seasons. Told by a master story teller.

Summary: A Christmas Story
Review: Growing up as a child this movie was a family tradition. It is a great family movie which is totally hysterical without being crude or offensive. From Flick sticking his tongue to the flagpole to the leg lamp this movie is a classic in my mind and you will laugh from start to finish.

Summary: Where is the widescreen release?
Review: I am surprised that they re-released this film on DVD and did not offer a widescreen presentation. I'll wait if and when that ever happens.

Summary: The funniest christmas movie I've seen
Review: This is the funniest christmas movie I've seen. For anyone who has received the worst gift ever, they can relate. For anyone who had a younger sibling and fearless friends. To anticipation of the "gift" and childhood dreams.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Essential Christmas Comedy!
Review: Along with It's a Wonderful Life and The Charlie brown Christmas Special, this one is a classic Christmas movie. After I get back from college for Xmas vacation, my sisters and I follow the tradition of watching it every day up until Christmas. It's that good!

Summary: Yellow Eyes
Review: My family has been watching this movie during the Thanksgiving and Chrsitmas holidays for many years. We have seen it numerous times and it gets funnier every time we view it. I can't remember a year when we didn't see it at least 10 times during the holidays. The narraration of the film is what makes this film so enjoyable. Their are so many great scens in themovue, the Ovaltine scene, the soap eating scene, the tongue on the pole scene. There are too many to mention. Everyone should see this movie at least once, it is a wonderful feel good Sunday afternoon type of movie.
