Summary: I don't know what people are complaining about
Review: It really wasn't that bad. Yes it wasn't at all like the origional film, but the origional king and I (Before Yul Brener), Tuptim and Lun-ta were burned at the stake. In the Yul Brener version, Lun-ta dies as does the king. I mean, everyone is complaining about the guy loosing his teeth...look at all the deaths in the origional. This is meant to cater to kids. And like Disney who change Sad endings to happily ever after (Like Hunchback of NotreDamme) Or change the story completely like Pocahontas...They made this into something kids could like. There is more violence in disney movies, and so what if it didn't follow the same storyline? It was a cute show to intruduce kids to musicals. It had a happy ending, big deal? What are you complaining about just because it has a happy ending? Haven't you ever wanted to go back in time and redo something differently that didn't work out in your life the first time? Well each character got the chance to do that this time. You all expected too much out of a kiddie cartoon. Just sit back and enjoy it for crying out loud. It was good

Summary: FANTASTIC!
Review: My daughter was three when she first watched this and she enjoyed it so much that I plan to buy it very soon. You say the story was rushed? How long do you think a child's attention span is? It was great and I truly hope that Warner Brothers continues to make these type of movies. Especially great for any children who love to sing and dance like mine.

Summary: Please, teeth don't fall out!
Review: One of the most celebrated Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals of all time is now a magically animated musical adventure certain to have the entire family "Whistling A Happy Tune!" Travelling to the exotic kingdom of Siam to instruct the Royal children, English schoolteacher Anna Leonowens soon discovers that her most difficult challenge is the stubborn, imperious king himself. But even as a wondrous friendship grows between Anna and the arrogant monarch, an evil sorcerer is conjuring up a plot to steal the throne! Sparkling with playful new characters kids will love, it's an enchantingly animated tale of royal romance, courtly intrigue and timeless musical favorites!

Summary: A WONDERFUL ANIMATED FILM!
Review: Simply Wonderful! I loved the storylines, the characters, the songs and everything! It will delight children of all ages! The only problem was that it was a bit too fast-paced and the story rushed like a whirlwind, but I still enjoyed it *very* much! I've always been a fan of the King and I movie starring Yul Brynner too, and I love this one too! The songs are the same, but the storylines have a wonderful and most imaginative twist! The Kralahome made an excellnt, strong villain! Each scene will teach everyone a very good lesson, specially the love affair between the prince and the slave Tuptim. It is quite different compared to Disney Films, and I'm quite proud of Warner Brothers for being able to create such a masterpiece! It will always be one of my favourite animated cartoon-films despite all its ups and downs!

Summary: Disappointing
Review: The ads made this seem like a wonderful movie, but when my child and I saw it we both felt let down. The story line was mediocre, the characters lacked depth, the animation was so-so. We will never have any desire to see it again. This is the first time I've been tempted to return a movie I bought simply because I didn't like it.

Summary: Great movie especially the music
Review: This definitely has some of the best songs in a cartoon movie. I happen to like the storyline. Heh a few parts in this remind me of the sound of music but o well that's not a bad thing anyways. I happened to like all the voice actors as well especially the King's and the villian's little henchman. The only problem I had with this movie was they didn't have a truly great villian. They didn't really try 2 develop him as a character much. That's the only reason this didn't get a full 5. This movie is really good for a few light-hearted laughs too! It's definitely worth the money to get this movie or even rent it.

Summary: Really Swell for Kids!
Review: This movie was really cute! I honestly don't know what other people are complaining about when they say the makers shortened the cartoon from two hours. This movie was made for children, right? Now tell me, WHAT CHILD WOULD SIT FOR TWO HOURS? some can't even sit still for 2 seconds, so of course they had to shorten the movie. The art work in this movie is really nice. Sometimes the artwork rarely becomes cheesy, like in some cartoons. As for the cheesy Siamese accents that another person said they all have, they really exsaggerated. Only one person had a really fake accent... MASTER LITTLE! (He's the bad guy's sidekick.) he says funny things. As for the bad guy, he's not scary, he just needs a hobby.I liked the movie so I hope that you see it soon and enjoy it as well. 'Bye!

Summary: Musical Theater 101
Review: This version of "The King And I" seems to have gotten a bad rap!
Sure, much of the original story has been altered to make this "Family Viewing" but, the true heart remains! And those wonderful songs by R & H beautifully performed by Martin Vidnovik (The King) and Christiaine Noll (Singing Anna) are pure joy!
WB threw their hat into the animated feature film ring and created something as impressive as Disney/Pixar or Dreamworks ever could! However, this film did not achieve Disney or Dreamworks box office success! This film is a great introduction for children and adults to a classic american musical. I would love to have seen a new trend of animated classic musicals begin such as "Flower Drum Song", "Anything Goes", "Annie Get Your Gun", "Into The Woods", "Fiddler On The Roof" "Hello, Dolly!" or even "Gypsy" now wouldn't that be interesting! The animated TK&I has alot going for it gorgeous animation, great voices (speaking and singing), a great story and a timeless musical score! The running time is just under 90 minutes. Some of the songs were cut from the film but included in the closing credits performed by Barbara Streisand. The DVD has many cool features like a couple of "Making Of" featurettes. Cast & Character Bios and a sing-a-long! A DVD essential for any musical theater fan! Although, I'm sure many musical theater fans would strongly disagree with me!
Also see: "Anna And The King Of Siam (1948), "The King And I" (1956) and "Anna And The King" (1999) or read many of the books written about the life of Anna Leonowens and The King Of Siam.

Summary: Terrible Film. Don't waste your money.
Review: This was a dreadful film and I wouldn't consider buying it. Why does it have an average rating of five stars when two of the three previous reviews agreed it was awful?

Summary: Beauthiful and entertaining family movie
Review: This was one of the most beautiful animated movies I have ever seen. The colors were fresh and vibrant. The music was wonderful and captured the entire essence of the film. The movie maker did an excllent job of captivating the attention of all ages. My three year old has watched it over and over at a friends house, who just recently bought the new release. I am ordering a copy today!!!
