Summary: One Scene Made This Cartoon
Review: When a little child opened his present and a puppy climbed out and licked his face, I thought I would die!!!!!!!!!!
It showed someone's genius! The movie is worth every penny for that scene alone.
My only gripe is with that obnoxious singing by the towns people. Why don't they take singing lessons?

Summary: A Christmas Classic !
Review: Honestly, how can anyone get tired of watching this? HTGSC comes on every year and every year I shall continue to watch it. I have always liked reading books as a kid from Dr. Seuss and the Grinch is definately one of his best along with Cat in the Hat. Parents, this DVD is a good Christmas gift for your children no matter what age they are.

Summary: 1966 VERSION IMPROVES UPON ORIGINAL 1957 VERSION
Review: This 1966 version of "The Grinch" with Boris Karloff is even better than the original 1957 poem due to EXTRA POEM LINES which the 1957 edition lacks. What is more, this 1966 version adds a wonderful EPILOGUE entitled "WELCOME CHRISTMAS" which is completely absent from the original 1957 poem. It is just a pity that one cannot receive the 1966 version of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" in any printed form whatsoever.

Review: Very disappointing. Color is way off, my grinch is yellow not the green that he should be. Numerous black segments that seem to be where commericals were removed. A real rip off.

Review: This dvd is gr8. Although, I liked the Jim Carrey version better (Although I h8 every Jim Carrey movie except for "The Grinch". There was more to the story in that version. This is a classic. For any1 who celebrates Christmas, you must own this and the Jim Carrey version.

Review: I love this movie! This is such a classic. A must have for anyone with kids! The DVD is great. Even has the effect of watching an old film strip, with minor defects flashing on the screen (from what I read it is was digitally remastered- but it didn't get rid of all the defects). As I said- I think it adds to the charm. What a great movie!

Review: The Grinch is super! I just love the Grinch. The Grinch is a heart warming Christmas show. I just love the song "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch." I have seen this show tons of times and I am not board with it yet. I even watch it after the Christmas season. The Grinch is perfect for children to watch. It teaches them the true meaning of Christmas.

Review: Forget Jim Carrey when you come to this animated tale, and forget that it was put out years earlier. The animation by Chuck Jones is classic, as the narration by Boris Karloff, and the Grinch who steals your heart in this film, not to mention his little dog, too, is one of the kindest, and this transformation of character is one which can be sat down with your children, without fear of the double-entendres which Carrey brought to his portrayal.Forget Carrey's Grinch, and go to the source of where it all began. This is story-telling, and the music is marvelous. You'll be singing "You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch" for days and days. Superbly recommended!!!

Summary: Love me some Grinch!
Review: I should begin by saying, after reading other reviews where people complain about the color of the Grinch: I don't see the problem. The Grinch on the box is bright green, but *that* was the thing that didn't seem quite right to me. The color of the Grinch in the program itself was just fine. I assumed they whipped up some fancy artwork for the DVD cover. I had actually taped the Grinch off a local TV channel shortly before receiving this DVD for Christmas, so I played them both and compared the colors. Again, no problems. Moving on to the actual content...what a treat this DVD is! Not one but two features about the Grinch: TNT's 1994 special with the late and sorely missed Phil Hartman, and another also featuring interviews with composer Albert Hague and singer Thurl Ravenscroft (who always tells delightful stories about being involved in the project). You can also skip directly to any of the songs, and there's a cute little trivia game for the kids. Just for fun, I turned on the subtitles to see how they'd handle all the strange Seuss words. The accuracy of the whole program is weak in spots (the Grinch is a "crooked dirty trockey"? I think you mean "jockey"), and the Whos' songs ("Welcome Christmas" and "Trim Up the Tree") are not captioned at all, which is kind of a shame. On the whole, though, this is a DVD that everyone will enjoy having in their holiday collection.
