Rating: Summary: The Lion King 2 is rockin' ;o) Review: I saw this movie when it first came out. My heart was captured from the first one but what was left of my heart was taken by the 2nd one. This is an excellent movie of pride, action, and love. It is a real inspirerer that has earned its fame and is worthy of the first one. Therefore it is THE movie for you to get. e-mail me at tassadar_187@hotmail.com so I can make a mailing list of the Lion King Express and put you on it. Oh by the way, my name is Matt Bartek (aka. Simba). I am 14 if you want to know. Rent Simba"s Pride and be captured by this compelling epic story. Have a blast!
Rating: Summary: Movie too dark for the children Disney targets Review: I purchased the movie for my young children and was so disappointed, I returned it with my complaints. My children were frightened by the weird characters and loud conflicts. Plus the storyline was not redeeming; children can learn these "lessons" without being frightened. Regardless of Disney's marketing on TV during preschool shows, parents of young children should beware--I think there are much wiser selections.
Rating: Summary: Lion King II Review: This is an excellent movie... I have a 2 1/2 year old and an 1 year old and my children watch it at least twice a day and I feel its much better than anything on TV
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the first one. Review: The movie was definately captivating to younger children. My younger brothers and sisters really enjoyed it. I myself though being 14 thought it was boring. After seeing the first movie all sequals are dumb. You can always predict what is going to happen. Now if Simba had a son instead of a daughter it might have been better!!
Rating: Summary: Story line and talent is a lame knock off of the orignal. Review: If you liked the talent, story and sheer majesty of the original "Lion King", you will wince at this lame, opportunistic knock off of the original formula. Although Disney has mastered the art of taking one story line and respinning it through the years into countless permutations, Lion King II takes this approach to a new low. Visual production values are fine, and young children won't know the difference, but you will be disapointed.
Rating: Summary: Follows well in the Original's paw-prints Review: I'll admit I'm a big Lion King fan, so naturally I /had/ to have this video, and I enjoyed it greatly, and not Just because I'm a fan. *smile* It's true that the basic tone throughout is dark, but since Zira is filled power-lust and revenge, the 'darkness' fits in. I felt that this story proved a basic tenet of life 'No matter who you are, where you're from, what you've learned...You can change" Kovu was taught to hate, and instead he learned love. Simba banished the Outsiders, but learned to accept them. Yes, there was an undertone of violence and anger, but its center was Zira. She lived the hate, nourished the hate, and in the end, died because of her hate, and her unwillingness to change. Good triumphed, Evil sabotaged itself and all's right with the world. I give this video an enthusiastic two paws up :).
Rating: Summary: It's almost as good as the original... Review: The one part I didn't like however, was the overly-long "Upendi" love-song scene. It was just too silly, long, and boring. Ugh. Other than that it's OK. It is somewhat dark, but that's just an observation, not a compliant. (They need half stars in the review rating system. 3 1/2)
Rating: Summary: Not even close to the first one. Review: This movie was not anywhere as good as the first one. It is not very accurate. Also, the songs were kind of boring and the characters were not as funny.
Rating: Summary: I THOUght it was an excellent movie Review: i have a 2&4 year old and they loved it. it was just as good as the first one although they could of had zera join the others at the end.otherwise it was a great movie.
Rating: Summary: Excitement Galore Review: I like Kiara the best new character in the movie. Nala is cool too because she fights the bad lions. Simba is a really good daddy to his daughter. Poombah and Simon put in great preformance and provide comic relief.(review as told by Jaycee age 4 to her Father)
