Rating: Summary: Imagination Review: I agree with that reviewer. Imagination was the catch phrase of Disney and should be the motivation behind every disney movie to inspire or capture our imaginations. No disney sequel listed bellow has ever done that. Lion King II Return of Jafar Little Mermaid II return to the Sea Pocahontas 2. What's next Snow White 2.
Rating: Summary: A Movie Full Of Laughs!! Review: Next To My Favorite Disney Character's Movies, THIS IS THE BEST DISNEY MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN!! I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who believes in fairytales and happily ever afters. All the mice are excited because the Fairy Godmother is at the castle to read the mice the story of Cinderella. But Jaq & Gus were late only to hear the words "the end". So, Gus wants to make another book about Cinderella. The movie is divided up into the three stories in the mice's book. In the first story, The Prince & Cinderella are just coming home from their honeymoon. The King told the royal advisor, Prudence that she needs to teach Cinderella how to be a princess. As a result, Cinderella thinks that she is a complete failure as one. But Cinderella finds that if she can just be herself, she can be her own cheerful self, too. In the second story, Jaq is eager to help Cinderella like he did before Cinderella became a princess. But he thinks that since he's so small, he's no help at all. So, he wished he were human. The Fairy Godmother heard Jaq's wish, And granted it. But when an elephant was loose at the spring festival that night, he wished he were a mouse again, so he could stop the elephant. And when he turned back into a mouse, the elephant was so frightened that it stopped. Jaq had saved the festival!! And so he learned that even if you're small, you can still be a BIG help!! In the third story, Cinderella is throwing a ball. Now, Lady Tremain wants her daughters to marry men of wealth and nobility. She wants them to marry those kinds of people because she wants more money. Anastasia & Drizzella Want to marry those kinds of people because they want to get famous. When they went to town to buy new dresses, Anastasia fell in love with the baker. After an unfortunate accident, Cinderella took Anastasia back to the castle to clean and give a whole new look. The next day, Anastasia went to the baker's shop but when she saw him giving a wreath of roses to another girl, she thought that that girl was going to the ball with him. But really, the baker was just showing them to a friend. She ran of crying and then went to a fountain that had hearts on it and cried. Meanwhile, the baker was looking all over for Anastasia. Then he gave up and sat down at the same fountain that Anastasia had been crying, not knowing that. They find each other after a goat ate the baker's wreath of flowers. Then their happy day was spoiled when Lady Tremain & Drizzella found them. What happened next is too hard to put into words so I'll have to let you buy the movie to see that. But in the end, Anastasia and the baker lived happily ever after. At the end of the movie, the mice present Cinderella with the book they Made. Then they all sit down to read the book and that's where we leave The castle. Brook Allison sings all of the songs in Cinderella 2. She says that if a song is a happy one, it immediately puts you in a good mood. She also says that even though She is not portraying the voice of anyone in the movie, when your singing you have to make the characters voice yours. Now the bonus features are great!! Now, let me see. There's Cinderella's Enchanted Castle Game, a DVD Storybook called A Little Misunderstanding, Musical Magic featurette, Cinderella's Dollhouse DVD-ROM preview, and, Brook Allison music video: Put It Together. Well that's it. I hope that this review has helped you and that it encourages you to get this DVD.
Rating: Summary: Delightful Entertainment; Good Lessons Review: The format is three independent stories, tied by an overlay (or interstitial) with the following characteristics: 1. Each story is entertaining, especially for kids, told with imagination and humor. 2. Each story carries a separate message that is good for children to hear. 3. The animation and music are delightful. My grandchildren have watched it twice in two days and love it!
Rating: Summary: GREAT MOVIE Review: Wonderful movie! The best Disney movie sequel I've seen in years. It's NOT an action packed never ending series of fights. This movie is a superb example of what Disney CAN do for children's entertainment when it's not worried about being politically correct. I thoroughly enjoyed not having to explain a point every two minutes to our five year old, you can actually just sit and watch this movie and not worry about anything i.e. violence, language...... A must buy for any Disney collection.
Rating: Summary: Okay for very young children Review: I think children over the age of 7 or 8 would be bored. As [others] have noted, it is really three short stories on one DVD; the link between the stories is the premise that the mice are putting together a storybook of Cinderella and the castle. Two things could have been better: Cinderella wanders around the castle and in town in her old workdresses (a little longer than knee-length, apron, hair tied back). I would have liked it better if Cinderella had worn prettier gowns, though not dressed up as ornately as the palace staff would have it. The second thing is that the movie ridicules people "of size." For example, there is one fat woman in the story where Jac is upset because he can't help Cinderella because he's just a mouse. The fat woman is shown as being stupid, insensitive to others (couldn't discern that a human Jac was not attracted to her -- was actually repulsed by her), and hysterical (in her reaction to seeing a mouse). In the first story, the fat lady-in-waiting is a giggling not-bright mess. Her reaction to Cinderella cooking breakfast was the typical "fat person" reaction to food -- enraptured and obsessed (implied). Fat people are one of the few groups of people that are openly ridiculed in our society, in print, movies, and television. I know Disney is just playing off a stereotype of "fat equals lazy, stupid, insensitive, etc." I just wish Disney would have backed off on this one.
Rating: Summary: BIG MISTAKE IF YOU BUY IT!!!! Review: I got the DVD, I went home to wacht it with my daughters, after 10 minutes one of my daughters (7 years old) start asking when the real movie is going to start!. This is an amazing comment from a 7 year old girl who almost every cartoon or animated movie can impress her. I agree with my daughter it is a such horrible DVD. It looks like chapters of a TV series, better you put your money on the garbage or better take your kids for lunch it is better way to spend that money.
Rating: Summary: Touching, but nothing to write home about....... Review: For those with children who loved Cinderella, its' probably a must-have for the video collection. But, even then, i think it's a bit of a let down. Wasn't at all what I expected. However, It was still heartwarming. It's Disney, so how could it not be cute, how could it not be at least heartwarming. I did enjoy watching it, but wasn't as excited over it as I thought i would be. My son and daugther did both enjoy watching it as well.
Rating: Summary: Cinderella(Garry Hixon)on Cinderella Review: Hi Kids, Parents, and Adults who refuse to grow up! I am Cinderella(Garry Hixon) and this is a really good movie! Some of the reviewers don't like it because I think they expect it to make all of their dreams come true forever! It will for an hour, but I think people expect a 73 minute Video to answer all their questions about the Universe, and Walt Disney Incorporated. I happen to have just sent Michael Eisner an autograph request, and personally know the nephew of Tom Shumaker,(head of Walt Disney Animation) so I think I know what I'm talking about! Yes, they have really hyped this movie, but that's good! Little kids need something to see when they go to the grocery store or video store with their parents! I think this movie will lead to other Disney classics, and I'm so glad she has blonde hair in this one, since it is more beleivable! What's truly incredible is in the original she has red hair, I guess they realize they made a mistake, and changed it posthaste! Thank you so much Walt Disney for everything you are doing for poor Cinderella, you have truly made her a star in her own right. This is truly the best video/movie Walt Disney has ever done, and the best and biggest publicity campaign for Cinderella and her children of the world that has ever happened! Amen to everyone in the world in 2002, and especially to poor Cinderella, an honorable woman in an honorable time! Thank you my fans and enjoy!-Love to children everywhere!-Love Cinderella Brown(Garry Hixon)!
Rating: Summary: my review Review: wasn't really a movie, just a couple short stories. i just wasn't impressed
Rating: Summary: The WORST Disney sequel I have bought Review: Ok, I love Disney movies. And the original Cinderella was a romantic, timeless classic. As a little girl, I secretly yearned for my own Prince Charming to live in a grand castle with. That is how absorbing and wonderful Cinderella was to me. So I figured while the sequel would not be excellence in film making, I thought it would at least be good. After all, the original was fantastic, and this is Disney! Boy, was I wrong! As the other reviewers stated, this is actually 3 stories in one, rather than one long story. That said, the first two stories were awful, and the last was mediocre. The singing...UGHHHHHH!! What were they thinking. I have to say, in the first story, after Cinderella decides to do everything "her own way," the high notes sung in the subsequent scenes were enough to make little dogs cringe in pain. Sorry Disney. I really expected much more out of this and was sorely disappointed. All other Disney sequels were not THIS bad and I hope Disney does not plan on releasing similiar bad sequels. As it is, I want my money back on this one! Now I am just looking forward to purchasing Beauty and the Beast sometime this November. If Disney decides to produce any more sequels of this quality, I certainly will stop buying.
