Rating: Summary: Excellent tool for your toileteer-to-be! Review: We bought this video for our son (now 2 1/2) and, besides the fact that he loves Bear anyway, he really "gets" this video. The characters explain the whole potty process (including accidents) in a very calm and accessible way that actually means something to little ones while at the same time being very entertaining. When my son uses the potty succesfully, he now lets everyone know he is a "toileteer!"
Rating: Summary: Good content but not motivating to potty Review: I thought this was a cute video---my 2 year old daughter really enjoyed it. However, that's it. She wasn't really motivated to use the potty. This video reinforces all the toddler books we've been reading to her. I'm looking for something to give her a little bit more push (being careful to not let it be me) in that direction. We'll continue to watch the video b/c any reinforcment is better than none at all.
Rating: Summary: Too cute for words Review: My son loves Bear and this video did just the trick to get him intrested in the potty...seeing one of his favorite characters 'show' him the basics got him all excited! The songs are catchy and I dont have to worry about it being too 'adult' in the teachings. I love the fact that there are 3 different episodes all dealing along the same lines of practice makes perfect and not to give up even if you have an accident being with the potty or otherwise. I am a happy mom and I know I have a happy son when he asks to watch it more than once!
Rating: Summary: cute, but doesn't really teach anything Review: It's cute, I suppose, and useful to introduce your toddler to the concept of the potty and the fact that everyone uses it, but beyond that, it just really isn't all that helpful to the potty training process. It's a useful door-opener perhaps to parents who may be too uptight to broach the subject to their toddler, but that's about it.
Rating: Summary: Introduces the Concept of the Toilet Review: Bear and his friends sing and dance to introduce the concept of going to the toilet (or potty). They tell how to know you need to go, and explain that sometimes there are accidents, but that it is worth it to wear underwear instead of diapers. There are some real children who talk about how they love going to the toilet. And a very strange shadow puppet rap showing that people all over the world go to the toilet. Don't know about results yet, but at least it is an entertaining video.
Rating: Summary: Finally! A show that doesn't patronize! Review: Like any parent aware of the pandering mindlessness that is the pre-school television landscape, I approached this show with sincere trepidation. A giant bear who owns property and sings? I know, it sounds unlikely. But unlikely as it may sound, this Bear in the Big Blue House is more than a simple parable about home financing. It clearly [and often cleverly] depicts struggles running the gamut from managing increasing home loan interest rates to finding an estate manager you can really, truly trust. Songs like "Laughing all the way to the bank" and "Mortgage, Schmortgage!" both enthralled and inspired my 4 year old Kevin; and set him on his way to his first private leasing. Thanks Bear! Sincerely Clark
Rating: Summary: Highly recommended Review: My son's 3rd B-day was coming up fast and I have tried everything in my aresenal to potty train him. Stickers, other videos, books, etc.. Nothing was working!!! He loves "Bear in the Big Blue House", and I could not believe that they had a potty -training video that I did not hear about. The video is great: wonderful songs, great motos such as "accidents can happen", "even when u r playing, take time to go". My favorite section is what do you do if you have to go potty in a stange place!!! My son loves it. Combined with all the other techniques, this video is great. I lend it to my neighbor and her son loves it. I consider it a great investment for my soon-to- arrive second child.
Rating: Summary: The Potty way to go... Review: My son is 3 years old and is sort of getting this whole potty thing. He loves this video. He dances to the songs and watches the whole thing over and over again. I think it will help him link "potty" to a fun thing someone else (Bear) does and eventually he will go on his own. I feel very good about purchasing this video as a potty aid.
Rating: Summary: Bear in the Big Blue House - Potty Time with Bear Review: My son is 18m and very active i bought this dvd it has got 3 episodes but potty training scence are only in 1 episode and only two scence,my son even dont like watching it.
