Summary: Sick of Disney? Need MORE ACTION? Transformers The Movie
Review: Those old enough will remember Transformers, MASK, TMHT,and Power Rangers. In my view, as each of these has gone on, the formula for kid's movies has been watered down, taking out the violence and the grit and the action. All the best elements in my view. As this is the earliest of the above list, it's still got all the good stuff(action) left in the formula.

The plot, a giant planet called Unicron eating other planets and the only force that can stop it is the Transformers. Trouble is, they've been at war for four million years with no hope of peace. If they can just take a pot shot at Unicron between their own fights they might just get by...

The Actors, aren't the usual crop of ham wholesalers. The overacting is kept to a minimum with such stars as Leonard Nimoy, Orson Welles and Eric Idle. Oh, and a bunch of people I've never heard of but they're dead good...

This film was the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one. Unfortunately, it was the beginning of the end for the Transformers series. The movie of a kid's TV series is often the death knell for the show and then they try to relaunch the characters and the toys. However Transformers did survive longer than most after the movie, and I've probably said it already, but I haven't seen anything to top this since. Not even from Disney.

Some parental guidance required for violent content.

Summary: A Classic In Kids Heart
Review: I don't care what anyone says this movie a classic to those who remember the TV in the 80's. The movie just caps off everything and is perfect. With the new Transformers (Beasties and Beast Machines) they don't come close to the action that was seen in this movie. Sure you old people out there that hate everything kids liked back then will hate it, but anyone who grew up with this will tell you otherwise. You can't go wrong with this one.

Summary: Transformers: An Old Classic Re-visited
Review: If you were a child in the 1980s, chances are you heard of Transformers, if not a fan of them. Who wasn't? One of the largest toylines, best animated cartoon series, not to mention one of the best cartoon-made-to-movie series out there.

In 1986, the movie was seen as a "long toy-commercial." In 1999 and 2000, because of incidents dealing with school shootings and so forth, it is still seen as a "violent 18 and older" movie.

If review critics got off their high horses to actually look at what makes a movie a movie(storyline, character development, etc), you'll see that Transformers: The Movie has it all. From Hot Rod 'growing up' to the death of Optimus Prime, it touches everyone in some way. The weak points? Too many new characters introduced without development on some. And I guess the death of 15 or so characters can be thrown into that pile too.

Overall, a great animated movie to relive your childhood. If rumor holds true, we may see an updated CGI movie of the Transformers(yes, the 1980 Transformers), soon!

Summary: Transformers: The Movie
Review: With all due respect to Mr.Leonard Maltin, I have to say that I really enjoyed this movie. The soundtrack is excellent-Dare To Be Stupid and Nothin's Going To Stand In Our Way are my favorites, but all of them are good- and fit in well with the particular scene in which they appear. Also, the characters were great! Everyone remember Hot Rod? I was a Transformers fan when I was a kid, and always will be, but even if you aren't you still have to see this movie.

Summary: One Great Movie
Review: I think this is one of the best movies i've seen. It gives a realism that friends can be killed un-like some cartoons now which try to hide the fact that people die. The soundtrack is perfectly placed in the movie. The song "The Touch" is placed right where it belongs and it adds to the effects. Anyone who loves Tranformers if they don't already have it needs this movie.

Summary: The past is alive
Review: During my five-year college career, I found myself moving from apartment to apartment a lot. During my third year I was once again moving into a different apartment, while I was moving I stumbled upon a bunch of old movies of mine. One of them was TRANSFORMERS the movie. I forgot what wonderful memories I have of the transformer storyline and the toys. This movie was one of the best depictions of virtue and goodness battling the forces of darkness and oppression in a traditional mythic and epic sense. The storyline of the zen autobots and the chaotic decepticons takes a drastic evotutionary turn in this feature. After a violent and bloody onslaught by the decepticons on the autobots in the beginning of this feature, these two factions are faced with an intelligent, devious, planetary-sized entity that has turned its attention towards these factions as a threat to its reign of terror and galactic conquest. So with limited resources and a lot of wit our small assembly of heros seek to battle this new foe. A lot of "professional" critics (if there is such a thing) proved once again that they cannot see a good storyline outside of their generation gap. Many critics lost the feel of the energy and essense that this movie did a great job of symbolizing. To my fellow Gen-Xers out there, this movie is a keeper. I would love to own this movie on disc with all the deleted scenes and trailers and so on. I also would love to know that you all received the simple pleasure of re-living this old childhood memory. It should never be forgotton.

Summary: I DON"T CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU HEAR,,,JUST BUY IT
Review: I have loved every aspect of every TRANSFOMERS episode I have ever seen in my life. I got this tape and saw this movie for the first time last year...I loved it,it had lovable charecters (like the DINOBOTS)& unlike almost any saturday/weekday kids show I see, this shows one thing that they don't show,,,, the good guys getting slagged.I know some people got mad to see some die like Prime, but,it helps target a better audience for the older guys.

The soundtrack is great,"Touch" is put exactly where it should be, and "Get" is at good sequences too (in my opinion).I loved "Dare to be Stupid" by Weird Al,this sparked another intrest of mine making the movie even better (if that's possible).

This movie just made me forget my problems and I just see it,,say,,,EVERY DAY now.

If you want a good film.

THIS IS FOR YOU

Summary: Important Notice Cartoon Fans
Review: I grew up in the era of G.I.Joe, Thudercats, Voltron, and The Transformers. Now they've got Pokemon, and Barney. Sissy cartoons- with no real storyline. Do your kids a favor, buy this movie. Vote for it to be formatted to DVD. This movie has a great storyline, theme, and plot. The animation is crisp & flowing. I own the soundtrack as well and let me tell you, it rocks, and it's perfectly mixed into the movie. My friends- this is a breakthrough movie!
