Summary: Review: Toy Story 2
Review: One of the best movies I have ever seen is the Toy Story Trilogy. I do say, that TS is better than TS2, but TS2 is very good.

As the title says, this movie is the sequal of Toy Story. In this movie, Woody is stolen by a collector, and now it is up to the Toy gang to get him back.

I give this movie a 10/10. It is a very good movie, and great for all ages.

Summary: the films 2 year olds love!
Review: We were given the origianl Toy Story video when our eldest son turned 3. His younger brother (14 months at the time) watched this movie almost EVERY day for at least a year and became obsessed with Buzz Lightyear. When our third son came along, we tried him out on Toy Story when he got to the same age, and he also became a firm fan! I know the dialogue from both movies front and back, and yet I can STILL watch them and enjoy them. They are fantastic movies. We decided to replace the videos with longer lasting DVDs, as we have a daughter who is 14 months and rather taken with Buzz too. The second movie is just as good, if not better, than the first. They are classic movies that the whole family can enjoy over and over again. Highly recommend them to anyone with young kids, particularly because they have good morals and minimal violence, and because they appeal to adults as much as kids.

Summary: An OK Movie
Review: This movie was had at best a decent story line and had a few funny scenes here and there. But even the funny scenes were boring and almost lame. Overall, this movie did absolutely nothing for me.

Summary: Perfect!!!
Review: Before anything else is said, how often do sequels rate equal merit with their predecessor? How many are even half as good? Now, how many are better? Well, here's one that accomplishes that unique feat.
This film features all the originals fromt the first film, plus some new ones, for example Buster the family pet, Jessie the yoddling cowgirl, and Stinky Pete the prospector. Again, the voice cast is superb. The plot is well-thought-out, and the pacing is wonderful. There's enough sentimentality to get you attached to certain charactors, without wallowing in it. That's a finer line than most people think, as too much sentimentality can be painful.
The picture transfered to DVD beautifully, the colors are bright and well-defined, and the sound is wonderful. Please get this film and enjoy it. There's a wonderful lesson about friendship to be learned here, as well as loyalty. Absolutely wonderful!

Summary: An excellent collector's edition for Disney fans
Review: The collector's editions of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 plus bonus material in the Ultimate Toy Box set make this a great value for all Disney collectors. It's worth the extra money to upgrade to this edition.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A sequel that's as good as the original
Review: There is much to like about Toy Story 2. In fact, the only thing I dislike about the movie is its built-in commercial element, which I will discuss later.

The story continues the adventures of Buzz Lightyear, Woody and their friends, all of whom are toys which come to life when people aren't around. It's the perfect child's fantasy. Buzz is an astronaut, and Woody is a cowboy. When the kid they belong to goes off to camp, his mother decides to have a yard sale. Looking in the boy's room, she finds a toy penguin whose 'voice' no longer works. She puts it in the sale, much to the horror of the other toys. Soon, Woody, aided by the family dog, is off to the rescue. He is spied by a ruthless toy store owner who realizes Woody is a highly prized collectible and is worth a great deal of money. The man promptly steals him, and now it is Woody who must be rescued by the other toys.

The story is charming, but the magic is in the animation. This is Disney's third collaboration with Pixar Studios, which mainly uses state of the art computers and skilled technicians to create and animate its characters. In this case, we see the computer at its finest. Animation has been taken to the next level. The colors, the delineation and the attention to detail are all marvels to behold. This marriage of the computer generated and the hand drawn is nearly perfect. I imagine Walt himself would have approved.

The commercial drawback I mentioned is due more to modern marketing than to the movie itself. We are all painfully familiar with promotional tie-ins, all the toy sales that are generated by this type of movie. In this case, everything is almost too perfectly in place for Disney. The items created from the two Toy Story movies are literally toys based on toys. This makes it all seem a bit too calcualated on the company's part. Today, the price of a child's ticket to an animated movie is often but a small fraction of the money you wind up paying. It's all gravy for Disney and for the kids, but it makes some of us adults feel a bit used. I wonder if the real toys inspired by these movies wind up being as beloved as the ones in the movie are. Somehow I doubt it.

Summary: Toy Story 2
Review: As good as the first, my son loves Woody, Buzz and the whole Toy Story gang. A video I actually don't mind watching with him. And of course he watches it over and over again, good one, we love it.
