Summary: "Darn! That's the end!"
Review: Like others who reviewed this generously packaged DVD set, Schoolhouse Rock helped me learn my multiplication tables, the Preamble, conjunctions ("Conjunction Junction, What's Your Function"), interjections ("Interjections!" is where I got the title I used!), how a bill becomes a law (I learned what a veto was on "I'm Just a Bill") and more about electricity ("Electricity, Electricity") and gravity ("A Victim of Gravity") as a kid growing up in the 1970's. Also, when others wanted to play Hide and Seek and it was my turn to find them, sometimes I'd just sing "5-10-15-20...)!" Years later while watching "No More Kings," I noticed the animators goofed on the English flag, which at the time of the American Revolution, did not include the red cross of Northern Ireland (still a great song!). As a college student, I remember reading about many college students picketing at Washington D.C. to bring Schoolhouse Rock back on the air (it worked!). As an adult, I remember watching "Energy Blues" on TV and my brother remarked "You're the biggest kid I know!"

There are 3 hours worth of catchy and educational jingles, speaking of grammar ("Unpack Your Adjectives," "A Noun Is A Person, Place or Thing," "Interjections"), math ("My Hero Zero," "Three Is a Magic Number") American history("Elbow Room," "Mother Necessity") science (I remember the Science Rock jingles came out a few years later) and finances (the Money Rock series came out even later, as "Dollars and Sense" makes reference to Reba McIntyre and Wynonna Judd).

You can watch them all in one setting (if you have 3 whole hours to spare) or a little bit at a time (just be sure to watch them all!). In addition, there are commentaries on some of the songs ("Figure Eight," "Interplanet Janet," "The Preamble," to name some), the long lost "Weather Show," a never-before aired short series called "Scooter Computer and Mr. Chips," which probably was made in the 1980's), interviews with some of the producers and the newest song "I'm Gonna Send Your Vote to College," which talks about the electoral college and features the vocal talents of Bob Donough (who wrote all the Multiplication Rock jingles) and Jack Sheldon (whose voice can be heard on "Conjunction Junction" and "I'm Just a Bill"). Finally, there is a nice tribute to Tom Yohe, one of the chief animation masterminds behind the Schoolhouse Rock series.

If you have children, are a teacher or loved these songs as a kid, you will want a copy of this for yourself. As Lolly the Adverb Salesclerk remarked: "Indubetedly!"

Summary: Sharing my childhood memories with my children
Review: Only a true fan of SchoolHouse Rock would understand the pleasure I got from singing along with my favorite characters. My sister and I watched Schoolhouse Rock and the world was a wonderful place. Now multiply that by 100 and you know the joy I felt when my children not only sat through the DVD but now sing along with me. Even after 30 years, the tunes are still great and the graphics can hold the attention of our 'modern' children! Oh, and you learn something too, that's a bonus.

Summary: CLASSIC
Review: I bought this DVD and my kids, 11, 8, and 3 couldn't get enought of it. My 8 year old is learning multiplication and the songs has helped him so much. I was drilling him on his 3 tables and he got all of them right... How i asked...with a smile on his face he said "Schoolhouse Rock." That said it all. Verbs, adjectives, America, electricity conservation...They all have a favorite. They love it all.

Summary: My kids love Schoolhouse Rock and Scripture Rock
Review: First I got the video but then I saw this disc and got a DVD player and the DVD is much better!
My kids love the tape and the DVD. I'm amazed at how these songs hold up year after year. - Conjunction Junction, I'm Just A Bill- those are the best but the others are good too.
I got this for them and noticed that the made a Schoolhouse Rock for Bible called Scripture Rock and my kids love both Schoolhouse Rock and Scripture Rock.

Summary: The stuff we grew up on!
Review: Give your kids the wisdom we got on Saturday mornings.

Summary: 70's Saturday mornings and Captain Crunch revisited!
Review: I love this DVD! I grew up in front of the television with my cup of Captain Crunch and watching Schoolhouse Rock every Saturday morning. I remember more about basic mathematics, grammar and history from this series than from my elementary school classes. I can still sing the Preamble to the United States Constitution, "Figure Eight", "Conjunction Junction" and "I'm Just a Bill" more than 30 years later. It's a timeless educational classic for those of us who grew up in the '70s and for the generations that have followed!

Summary: I LOVED this DVD!
Review: Before I got this DVD, I had seen about 6 or 7 Schoolhouse Rock segments. Now I've seen them all. Even though the lessons were made for younger kids, I even learned some things from the videos. The songs stick in your head for days after watching them, making them a great tool for memorizing things for school in a fun way. The extras are also great, including a brand new song created just for the DVD, about the voting process and the Electoral College. This DVD is good clean fun for the whole family.

Summary: Wonderful for little children
Review: My husband and I sit with my 4 and 2 year old and watch these over and over. We love this collection on DVD. You can pick any song you like or shuffle them. A great learning tool. All the songs are there, what more can you ask for?

Summary: Great content, but defective DVDs
Review: My husband, toddler son, and I love this set for all the reasons mentioned in almost every review listed. We have encountered a problem, however, that I haven't seen addressed. Our first copy was so glitchy, it was mostly unwatchable. We exchanged it for a new copy, which is also extremely glitchy. We have a new, high quality DVD player and many new DVDs. This is the only one with any problems.

Perhaps we are just unlucky, but I am wondering if some of the reviewers who reported difficulty with navigation (IE skipping the ads) also have bad copies.

I'd definitely give 5 stars if it weren't for the poor quality of the DVD.

Summary: How Can You Not Buy This DVD?
Review: Ever get a song stuck in your head? Almost every one of these songs stay with you (they were designed that way!). Your kids will love it, it is educational, it is healthy, and it is funny!

My only complaint is that song is still stuck in my head..."Conjunction junction, what's your function...."
