Rating: Summary: Truly Outrageous!!! Review: Oh my goodness, what can I say? I loved this show growing up & I am absolutely tickled that Rhino has put this unforgetable classic on DVD. I can't wait for the rest of the episodes to be released. *hint, hint Rhino* I watch the episodes & sing along with the quick little songs, remembering the music video style they are presented in. Although, I must admit, I look at it now & marvel how people thought some of those color combos the girls wore were good matches. Yikes. Gotta love the 80's. Hey Rhino, while you're at it, how about putting another beloved 80's classic on DVD? I thinking, Rainbow Brite?? We can always hope.
Rating: Summary: Truly Outrageous! Review: At long last, this series gets some of the attention it deserves! Finally, the episodes can be seen in a quality that fans like me could only dream of -- because back in the 80s TV reception on the channel that aired Jem wasn't all that great. The songs are as wonderful as you remember them and this DVD is well worth the price for the music alone. But that's not all! Commentary by writer Christy Marx is FANTASTIC. Also, performer Samantha Newark ("the speaking voice of Jem") adds some insights. Plus, excerpts from the "Jem Bible" give background on the series most fans have never had access to before. Here's hoping Rhino sees fit to deliver MORE episodes and bonus features. This is one of the best DVD sets of any kind I have ever purchased. If you are still debating whether or not to get one yet -- just go ahead buy it! You'll be glad you did!
Rating: Summary: An Amazing surprise!!! Review: I was six years old when Jem first came on tv, and I still remember it like if it was yesterday. The songs, the costumes, and everything Jem had was totally amazing, and there's never been anything else like it. I used to transport myself into that little world that Jem create it, not just for me, but for many other little girls that used to love watching the show every Saturday to go play with their Jem dolls right after. I will always cherish that part of my childhood. Can't wait for the release of more Jem DVDs. I'm pretty sure a lot of people agree with me on that.
Rating: Summary: The best DVD ever!!!!(for jem fan) Review: The dvd is wonderful for people who love jem. Give it a try and you will be satisfied.
Rating: Summary: Outrageous!!! Review: Same as the other reviewers, I was stunned to discover Jem was out on DVD! I definitely hope all the other seasons will come out too! I loved it. The DVD is cool. Quality is great and so are the songs. The box cover was kinda cheap though and I did saw the mistake "passion and glitter" instead of glamour. But I don't care! What I care are the Jem DVDS! I loved the play songs feature also. And DEFINITELY loved the Christy Marx commentaries. She's pretty funny! I definitely recommend Jem to everyone!!!

Rating: Summary: It's About Time Review: Jem & the Holograms was my absolute favorite cartoon growing up in the 80s and I was so excited to see that the first and second seasons came out on DVD. Every episode is as I remember it and I still can't believe that I remember the songs from that show. The storylines are a little farfetched but hey I still enjoyed every bit of it. The show was really an animated soap opera but you felt like you were a part of it. Thumbs up to Rhino for releasing this set and taking me back. NEWSFLASH TO RHINO: Please release the remaining episodes soon (Season 3&4), you can guarantee that I will be in the stores waiting for it!!
Rating: Summary: totally outragous Review: I'M TOTALLY HAPPY WITH THE SET. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. I HOPE IT COMES IN A HURRY. YOU CAN'T GET ANY BETTER WITH CHRISTY GIVING BACKGROUND. I JUST WISH THE 'JEM BIBLE' WOULD HAVE BEEN DONE WITH SOMEONE TELLING ABOUT IT, INSTEAD OF HAVING TO READ... I'M LAZY CAN'T HELP IT.
Rating: Summary: Thank you, Rhino!!!!! Review: I have a new found respect for Rhino Home Video. In their infinite wisdom, they know what the people want! We want our '80s cartoons! After starting on GI Joe and Transformers, Rhino has FINALLY started releasing Jem!! I would like to personally say thank you to them! This cartoon is so much fun....it's an instant classic. The most interesting thing about this show is how it totally berates men. Rio is made out to be a dumb sod who can't figure out that Jem is really Jerrica in disguise. You would think they would kiss the same, right??!?!? I mean, they do it in EVERY EPISODE! Then, there is Eric Raymond! He's evil to the core....LOL...but oh sooo loveable! Now, on to my personal favorites, Zipper and Techrat! Zipper....the thug wannabe and Techrat...the nerdy guy with high-tech devices he can't use! Oh, of course, then there are Kimber's multiple boyfriends, and movie stars who croon after Jem to no avail..... Of course, we all know the MISFITS were the better band! Come on, the Misfits' songs were so good....compared to Jem's sap. Granted, she had a couple of good ones...like Glitter 'n Gold...but like most of the other reviewers...the Misfits are pretty awesome. The sound and picture quality of the show is really nice on DVD. It's just like watching it for the first time. The commentaries are very interesting too. It's neat to learn how a show develops over time. My recommendation: Go out and get this right away! The price may be a little steep, but hey, where else can you see real plots in a great cartoon classic!?
