Summary: Jem Truly Outrageous!!
Review: I have to thank Rhino for FINALLY putting this DVD out. I knew I bought a DVD player for a reason. I'd like to request that someone put out the cartoon "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" on DVD also. That cartoon was a great one also. I found out about it by watching Cartoon Network. It came out in the early 70's. It's quite shocking to see the things that go on with the Boyle family. I'd also love to see "Smurfs" on DVD too.

Now back to Jem I love everything about Jem. There are no cartoons out now that compare to Jem. I'm glad I still have my VHS episodes though because I'm leary when I read about the problems with certain eposides on the DVD. I hope Rhino fixes the problem. We Jem fans are die hard and we deserve the best. Thanks again!

Summary: I'm just thrilled! Thank you for releasing this!
Review: If you are a true child of the 80s this is a MUST OWN. Jem is the perfect cartoon for girls. It is aesthetically pleasing, sonically pleasing, with entertaining music video sequences, lots of characters, action, drama, high fashion, and unlike the crappy cartoons of today: it is a functional cartoon that specifically teaches girls GOOD MORALS. Every episode has a good lesson. Cartoons of today lack this and I seriously credit 80s cartoons to instilling some good morals in me- as cheesey as it may be. Jem was a big chapter in my elementary years and now I watch this DVD and it is JUST as good as I ever remembered it to be. Now that I'm older I can see it from a new perspective and realize exactly why I appriciated this cartoon so much. For me this is not one of those DVD collector's items that will just collect dust because I'm 24 and I still get into it. It's such a juicy cartoon. What a masterpiece. And yes I will be buying the 3rd season soon!

Summary: The best buy for Jem fans :)
Review: This is the greatest thing that happened in rerelease this year. I love Jem and the Holograms. This is the best buy if you are looking for Jem and the Holograms VHS. It's hours and hours of endless entertainment. I would suggest getting this rather than any individual VHS. It comes with many episodes to pick from. Mixed with the good and the bad so you have your pick. I purchased VHSs before the release because I didn't know about it but I have to say the VHSs were a disappointment. When I got the DVDs I spent hours and hours viewing them over and over. It bought back many fond memories. If you are a Jem fan go for it. If you have children (particularly girls) go for it.

Summary: Best cartoon in tv animation history!
Review: I don't think I need to tell Jem fans why they should get this so this is for those of you that don't know what Jem is about. Here's a synopsis from the dvd cover: After her father passes away, Jerrica Benton inherits half of his company, Starlight Music. The other half has been given to the ruthless Eric Raymond. Raymond plans to exploit Starlight to promote a new band called the Misfits. Jerrica doesn't believe that this was her father's plan, but she is powerless to do anything about it. That is until a remarkable computer companion named Synergy enters her life (thanks also to her father). With a huge supply of instruments left by her father and using Synergy's impressive holographic powers, Jerrica, her younger sister Kimber, and their friends are transformed into the rock band, "Jem and the Holograms." Now, as the lead singer, Jem, Jerrica sets out to make the Holograms dreams a reality, and at the same time keep a group of young girls, a boyfriend Rio, and the record company happy. --

This show was truly underrated. Thankfully a bunch of fans like myself kept an interest enough to get these classic cartoons out on dvd! I enjoyed this as a kid and I still love watching it today as an adult! Introduce your kids to this show because unlike many cartoons today, there aren't many that actually are entertaining with action and drama but also promote strong moral values. Throughout the series there are quality episodes that talk about sensitive topics like runaways, stealing, drugs, suicide, etc...but its also done in a manner that a child can understand and theres ALWAYS an emphasis on talking with a loved one if you ever have a problem. And when the show isn't about a moral issue, there's the popular fun feud to enjoy between Jem and their jealous rivals, The Misfits! The Misfits are constantly causing trouble for Jem and The Holograms and as a result both groups often get themselves in quite a bit of trouble as they travel around the world. One other clever little sub-plot is the love triangle Jerrica formed between herself, Rio, and Jem! Because she's hiding her identity as Jem to Rio, she's only managed to become jealous of herself!

There's also a few short original pop song segments thrown in that sound better than alot of 80s songs! Its just too bad they are only about a minute in length. To give you an example of what a great role model Jem can be to both boys and girls, here's a couple lines from the Jem and the Holograms song "How You Play The Game": 'it's how you play the game...how you play the game, that's where it begins, how you play the game (how you play the game), How are you're feeling at the finish, when its all over, that's what really matters, not who wins.' See! Sure, a little cheesy, but the kids could use positive messages like that. Anyways, buy this set! you can also check out the episode guide at http://www.tvtome.com/Jem/index.html
