Some of the humor will only be understand by adults.Aside from "A Christmas Story" which forever will
be in the top five all time greats for family fun.
The Princess Bride is right there. Humor.. belly laughs in this film.

Great scenes, acting, and the list of actors is wonderful. We named our dog "Fezzik" we loved this movie so much.
Its a pleasure to watch over and over and over. Each time
you'll find new things you missed. Even if you've never seen
this movie, your are guaranteed to love it.

Review: The Princess Bride is a classic.Originally written by S.Morgenstern the story is old but new at the same time.The book was rewritten with "the good parts" by William Goldman.Its a very enjoyable movie about Buttercup,the most beautiful girl in the world and her poor but perfect love,Westley.The story is generally a children type movie with being a story of True Love and High Adventure but its fun for the whole family(all & all no matter your age its really perfect for anyone!)If your looking at it the only advice I could give you is...Buy It!Just Buy It!You'll love it too!!!

Review: "The Princess Bride" is based on William Goldman's novel of the same name (which is also excellent!). I loved it as a kid, and I love it even more now! The movie starts out with a kid (Fred Savage) who is sick in bed. His Grandpa comes by to check on him and brings this wonderful book to read. At first reluctant, the boy agrees to hear it, and so begins one of the greatest adventures of all time. Westly (Cary Elwes) and Buttercup (Robin Wright) fall in love, and they must overcome many obsticles to be together. As Westly says, "Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while." The characters are unforgetable and are very well acted. I bet if you watch this movie you'll be quoting lines from it for the rest of your life! "Mawiage. That bwesed awangement, that dweam wifin a dweam." "You put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword, and we try and kill eachother like civilized people?" "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!" So if you love a good fairy tale with action and comedy, one for the whole family, "The Princess Bride" is sure to be "As you wish".

Review: Do you know why I am smiling: The PRINCESS BRIDE passes the "Eight Year old Boy Test",the "Ten year old girl Test" and the adult-with-kids test... ie: there are no scenes that they will want to "fast forward" through. The only slightly negative thing is the casting of buttercup. But Cary E, before he was the "night crawler" in Twister was great as Wesley - The Dread-Pirate-Roberts.

Review: I fell in love with this movie (and Fred Savage) as a child, and it has continued to entertain me! A grown-up fairy tale, it's a wonderful mix of pirates, princesses, intrigues, spies, dastardly villians and gorgeous heroes....it's got everything! The humour is something that you can only appreciate with age, so it works on many levels for all generations. It's a great film to relax with on a rainy day, or share with a friend. Definitely recommended!!!
