Summary: "Atlantis" is the long-lost treasure we've been looking for!
Review: I saw this only yesterday, and this is destined to be a classic in the hearts of Disney action seekers, including mine. I loved this movie, and I can guarantee you that I will buy this movie when it comes out!

Summary: You might want to wait for the video if you have little ones
Review: Overall Atlantis is a good movie, a little more daring for Disney though. The movie wastes no time, within the first 5 minutes the team is on their way to Atlantis. The movie begins to taper off once they arrive in Atlantis, then it gets confusing for the little ones. My five year old had several questions during the movie. Several times there were sub-titles to be read on screen. I believe, perhaps Disney was aiming at an older preteen audience with this one. There was alot of use of guns in the film, also alot of dying. If you have little ones under 8 years old you may want to wait and see the video, otherwise you may find yourself trying to explain what is happening in the middle of the movie theater.

Summary: Pretty dang amazing
Review: Okay, I'll admit that I'm easily entertained, but WOW! What else can I say about a movie that I've seen twice in theaters, two days in a row? This is a funny, exciting, and all-around good movie. Though the film has its weak points (there are at least two at the end) there are some thoroughly surprising moments, some genuinely creepy moments, and some definately awesome moments. If you like adventure, you will probably like this movie. So go do yourself a favor, and go see it.

Review: I love Atlantis the lost empire so much that they know about going to the sea.

Summary: Different is not always better
Review: I am not a Disney hater, nor do I worship everything they put out. That said, I fail to understand how anyone can give this movie more than 2 stars. First, the actors: Michael J. Fox was an excellent pick, he is as boyish as ever and his 19th century "Gee-Whiz" character was tolerable. James Garner does an adequate job, but lets face it, this is no stretch for him. As for everyone else, they were entirely forgetable.

The animation: I really must question the relevence of the turn-of-the-century, Frank L. Baum, Tick-Tock look of this movie. The animation is creepy, and souless, save for the ironic insertion of CGI. If they wanted to do an edgy, adult, anime-style feature, DO IT, dont dumb it down for the American audience, that is just insulting.

The plot is indefensible, incoherent and extremely violent. All I heard throughout the theater was children asking their parents "what is that?, where is she going?, is she dead?..." and all I heard in reply was "I don't know, I don't know, I don't know...".

Shame on you Disney.

Summary: Atlantis is found!
Review: Movie Summary: Milo Thatch, linguist and museum boiler fix it boy, shares his late grandfather's obsession for finding the lost continent of Atlantis. Just when the museum he works for turns down his latest proposal for an expedition, an eccentric billionaire friend of Milo's grandfather turns up with the mysterious Shepherd's Journal which will lead Milo to Atlantis. He sends Milo out with a colorful group of experts on an expedition to find whatever is left of Atlantis. What they find is more than any of them ever imagined.

My Opinion: Atlantis is a very fun movie. It is an action adventure without any silliness (intentional) or musical numbers. I didn't even notice this until it was over. My 5 year old daughter enjoyed it very much. There are a lot of plot and story holes, but they won't bother the kids. It is kind of surprising though after seeing The Emperor's New Grove where the characters in the movie actually make fun of the story holes. I on the other hand was bothered by how all the equipment and trucks appeared from two small subs. And the fact that Kida can't read the Atlantian language is a bit weird. But over all, we really enjoyed this movie. The characters are very interesting and Michael J. Fox is terrific.

What You Should Do: If you have kids take them to see it. It is a fun summer movie. There is a bit of action and violence but kids of about 5 and up shouldn't have any problem with it.

Other Recommendations: The Iron Giant, Shrek

Summary: ATLANTIS - WOW!!
Review: This movie is a must see for children and adults of all ages! My children ages four through 18 were entranced throughout! Atlantis offers visual stimuli and humor for both the young and the old! One of the best animated films I've ever seen, and I've seen them all!

Summary: Wonderfully thought out
Review: The only complaint I have about this movie is the animation. It is good, but in some parts it is very unrealistic and well, bad.

The story line is good, a little bit predictable, but most movies are. This is very different from past Disney movies, which is why it is rated PG. People actually die in this movie, not just lions. But as always in the end, everything turns out fine.

Although confusing in some parts, the story line becomes apparent in the end, and it all comes together, in a way. This is a very fun movie, and it is for the whole family. I enjoyed it a lot, and hope to see it again.

Summary: Best Disney Flick in a while
Review: First of all, there was no music. Thank God. I loved this movie. I want to see it again. I grant, there were parts where the story got lost due to bad writing, but through most of it it was very good. The animation was very good (as compared to some of the previous Disney movies) and the sound was great. Finaly, a Disney movie that adults can watch and not feel suicidal tendencies.

Summary: the best disney's had in awhile
Review: I just saw disney's atlantis, and although i wasn't expecting much from the previews, but when i went to see it in the theater, it was a magical and beautiful experience. The graphics were excellent, and there wasn't a skinny ditzy girl or another character with a predictable sidekick. I found it very enchanting and the magical element is excellent for kids. at ever cornere i didn't really know what to expect and there were even some shocking points, also. most people have heard of the mythical legend of atlantis, and this movie creates a picture of what is might have been like. with beautifully drawn scenery. I have been a fan of disney for a long time, but after a certain point i noticed that they had begun to dwindle in the quality of the animation and the storyline. The reason this movie was only 4 stars was that i didnt' really the realism in the drawings of the characters, they were a little square, personally. They needed a little more depth personality wise. I wish that disney would retrun to the better days when lion king and beauty and the beast were the reigning stories....enough with the sequels of good movies. cinderella, little mermaid....c'mon!! ahem. back to my point. I would definitely recommend this movie to any disney fan out there whether you're a kid or a kid at heart, but prepared for some violence for the kids.....
