Summary: -+ The +- Best dvd I have so far.
Review: Where to begin? how about here...

Simply placing the dvd inside of my player (pc) and turning on powerdvd And hitting play I was absolutly stunned.. There where little/hardly any visible artifacts on this disc (where as say "deep blue see") has lots and the bars (wide screen blink) The dual layer media on this disc is absolutly masterful, it has dolby 5 (not 5.1 unfortunatly) but the disc contains LOADs of extras.. like a full blown music video's, behind the scenes.. I can't wait for the collectors edition because I will buy that one too.

Summary: Disney issues new pressing of Tarzan
Review: The faulty sound on the original pressing of Tarzan is much discussed below. I got a call today from Dieney saying that they will replace the defective pressing with a new one on request. I can't wait.

Summary: This movie was wonderful!
Review: I thought this movie was wonderful! Unlike one of the comments below - Phil Collins' music was great! I can't see how anyone would disagree! It really added a nice touch to the movie. The real critic - my (almost) 3 year old son absolutely LOVES this movie and would like to watch it 3 times a day if I would let him. It was very good - even mom and dad couldn't stop watching (the first time, not the 31st!).

Summary: PROTEST MANDATORY COMMERCIALS
Review: I inserted my DVD with anticipation, since I heard many good things about Tarzan. However, Disney previews were the first thing to show up on the screen. I was thankful that I was watching a DVD, rather than a videotape, since I could immediately skip to the movie, rather than having to fast forward through the TEN MINUTES of commercials, as I do on my VCR. Imagine my unbelievable disgust when I realized that Disney had "locked" their TEN MINUTES of commercials such that I was unable to skip the commercials (similar to the "lockout" typically used to display the copyright notice). Since my kids like to watch movies over and over, that means that I will have to suffer through these TEN MINUTES of commercials EVERY SINGLE TIME! If you share my disgust for such "shove it down their throat" tactics, please let Disney know. How dare they mandate that we watch their commercials EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Summary: Snowboarding Tarzan!
Review: When I saw this at the cinema I thought that Phil Collins' music ruined what was a fine movie. However, having had a chance to watch it of DVD (particularly with all the 'extras') I think the move by Disney not to have 'unknowns' or characters doing the singing was OK (nice to see that the Grammy's agreed!).

An interesting departure but still with the Disney masterstrokes. The way that Tarzan negotiates the trees or the way he transforms from child to man is fantastic, the best I have seen Disney produce. And Jane! Minnie Driver's voice talents make her come to life in an incredible fashion.

The story - kept close to the original - has everything. Excitement, pathos, humour and redemption. The characters have real depth and the action superb.

Is this as good as Mulan? Perhaps not. It does not have that epic feel but it is a damn fine movie. And with all the 'extras' you get on the DVD it is well worth buying.

Summary: For once, Disney did it!
Review: I am a 12 year old girl who saw this movie in the theater last summer. I would probably recommend it. Even some of my friends who are up to age 17 loved it even more than me. It includes an awesome soundtrack. I would not recommend it, however, for a parent who's child did not like "Bambi". There are two sads parts in the movie, one almost exactly like "Bambi". I typically hate Disney movies such as "Snow White" or "Cinderella", but this movie was pretty good. The part when Tarzan is sliding down the trees is VERY stupid and unrealistic, and I did not see the first part of the movie, so I cannot tell you about that.

Summary: Good movie - Bad DVD - Buy the tape
Review: Regardless of what you may think of the movie (I enjoyed it), this DVD does not belong in anyone's collection. Disney has greatly abused the ability to lock-out control of the DVD player during the beginning of the disk, *forcing* you to sit through several previews and an ad. Shame! Ordinarily I'm a big fan of previews, and I don't even mind ads, but keep them in the bonus section where they belong! I won't buy another Disney movie on DVD while this disrespectful practice continues. I'm surprised more people didn't mention it here - I can only assume you've been watching the tape.

Summary: Blech
Review: This movie is just wierd. A guy surfing on trees? Talk about splinters! Sick humor and Rosie O'Donell is annoying. I do not reccomend this video.

Summary: OH~ Such a great movie!
Review: I wasn't smart and I never saw it in the theaters, but I watched it just the other day. It is SUCH a wonderful film. I laughed and cried and fell in love with all the characters. My little brother laughed at me because I got a little teary, but it was just so great! I was dubious at first that it would be good, but it was SO great!
