Summary: My Favorite Movie of all time
Review: What more is there to say? I'm 37, and Disney's Robin Hood is still my favorite movie ever. I doubt that'll ever change. This movie has it all, good music, humor, suspense, romance and an interesting plot to boot!!Who says a movie has to have ..., violence and foul language to be amazing? Today's filmmakers could learn a thing or two from Disney's Robin Hood and we would all benefit from it.

Summary: DVD brings backa legend
Review: And i'm not just talking about the Character. This movie has made its mark as being one of the best films of all time. Its music is inspirational and up lifting and its characters are unforgetable. THe story line is simple and fun but you never get bored. Looking back at my childhood, i see, top gun, Star wars and ROBIN HOOD! If you dont own this DVD go and buy it, if not for your kids, for yourself... and maid marion... what a fox.... sorry.

Summary: The Black Sheep Of Disney Movies
Review: Robin Hood is unlike any other Disney movie, and that is what makes it so wonderful. Most of the others are layden with over-produced sountracks, and lifeless characters. "Robin Hood" has perhaps the most likeable characters in the history of cartoon cinema, and the soundtrack is a classic. Roger Miller's voice is enthralling in this setting, and the tunes are tasteful and memorable. On the list with Fantasia, Cinderalla, Aladdin and Mary Poppins as the all-time great Disney flicks!

Summary: A Chaming Childhood favorite
Review: Long, long ago when this first came to theaters, I must have seen this movie (in theaters) at least ten times. This is one of the movies that got me into drawing and my current human/animal hybred charactors. This was made back before Disney became it's current incarnation of Di$ney, when the orriginal stock of animators were still producing theatrical animation. In the earley seventies, disney tried something new, processing penciled artwork onto cells in the equivelent of photocopying instead of had ink-tracing the original artwork onto cells, hence the strange look of the inks. I still love this movie. Though it is now apparent that the story lacks in developement and the charictors are a bit flat, this is a timeless movie for every generation of youngsters. Surprisingly, there is a lack of storytelling surrounding Robin Hood himself; rather Prince John and Sir Hiss wind up stealing the show! Robin is a sly fox, as is the foxy Marion. Ballou turns from gray to brown and slips on a green tunic to become Little John. Prince John is a cowerdly Lion (with a terminal thumb-sucking problem) and ol' bushel britches, the Sherriff of Knottingham (surprisingly, not as evil as portrayed in other Robin Hood films; here he is more of a likable charactor who just seems to be in the wrong job) is a wolf. Trivia for you fans of this film: The charactor of the sherriff was originally drawn up to be a goat, but this film came out just before the immage of the wolf shifted from the former fabled embodyment of evil to the better known current symbol of the family oriented symbol of wilderness, and the director decided to make him a wolf! Buy this one for your kids. This is from a time before disney turned into the baudy pop-oriented, simple tra-la-la single story-line hack house it sorrofully has become. IT's fun as well as watchable for adults!

Summary: Always been one of my favorites
Review: I've been watching "Robin Hood" since I was a kid and even though I don't watch cartoons that often now that I'm grown, it's still one of my favorite ones to watch when I do want to watch a good Disney movie. Robin Hood believes in stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. But to do that, he'll have to make his way to the castle and get past Prince John and Sir Hiss as slyly as he can. I like everything about "Robin Hood." I don't see any major flaws in the movie. It might not be one of the most popular of the Disney movies, but it's still one of the best. All of it is classic all the way from the beginning of the movie to the end. It has some of the most memorable parts of any Disney movie such as the archery contest where Robin Hood is disguised as a tall bird by wearing stilts and a long beak, when Sir Hiss the snake takes a flight inside a balloon, and of course when Robin Hood finally makes an attempt to steal from the rich and give to the poor. "Robin Hood" also has some good songs on top of being real entertaining. If you like watching a good Disney movie from time to time or if you know someone else who does, I recommend getting "Robin Hood."

Summary: Oo-de-Lally, indeed!
Review: I think I must have seen this film twelve or fifteen times at least-- it was an invaluable aid during my years as a desperate teenage babysitter! Yes, the animation's not the greatest, and Maid Marian _is_ kind of a ninny. But it's a charming little movie, full of laid-back humor and an immediate, handmade warmth that's completely lacking in the soulless CGI blockbusters Disney's been putting out lately. And the music! I don't care what kind of big names Disney has doing their music now-- no one tops Roger Miller. I'll take funny, intricate tunes like "The Phoney King of England" or "Not in Nottingham" any day over focus-grouped yeccch from "Beauty and the Beast" or "Mulan." If you've got kids that need to be entertained, or you're just feeling particularly young at heart, this is the flick for you. And down with that scurrrrvy Prrrince John!

Summary: Certainly Not Walt's Shining Moment . . .
Review: Forget what critics have been pounding about "The Sword in the Stone" and "The Black Cauldron" being Disney's least distinguished animated features. "Robin Hood" takes the cake (or gold?) as far as mediocrity is concerned. It starts off well enough but never sustains any significant emotion- our sympathies don't lie with the hero (depicted himself as rather shallow and bland) but with the villain, the only joy in the entire film. One part of the film is lifted directly from Snow White (and the attempts to hide this show!); the music is forgettable and Little John is a direct reprisal of Baloo from "The Jungle Book". Few of the voice performances are worth mentioning and the animation itself is not even good for the 70s (and this is a Disney film!) If you collect Disney films, buy it and you'll watch it once. If you don't, skip this one by and seek out the live-action Disney feature.

Summary: A Fun Film
Review: I agree with Lady Kluck. I must have watched this film 100 times growing up. It's warm and charming; witty and fun. All the charactors are loveable, both the good and the not so good. There's none of that dark evil you find lurking in so many Disney films. The songs are great to sing along with. It's not overly dramatic or overly sentimental. It's just merry ol' England. Disney wasn't able to recapture the cheerful comradary of Robin Hood until the recent Toy Story.

Review: Down with Leonard Maltin too! Undistinguished! This(in my not so humble opinion) is the greatest Disney movie ever.Animation not all there! Why? Because it has character and originality? Because it's not the perfect pixelation of Tarzan(ugh)? Give me a break, this movie was done by hand not SGI, what do you expect, perfection? "robin Hood" is as funny now as it was 20 years ago. Little John getting hit on by rhinos who love his gold filled [boots]? Hilarious! Twenty years from now how many people will get the jokes on Aladdin( they're dated already)? This movie is classic,a pinacle of achievment that none of Disney's latest "efforts" has matched. I highly reccomend this film for movie goers of all ages. So buy it already you procrastinating pythons!

Summary: My little special guy thinks it's great!
Review: Push aside what others say about this product, be it good or bad. The main thing is this is a movie for kids and what they think is important. When I got it, my little guy couldn't wait to watch it. After the first time, he watched it over and over again for about 4 times. The same for the second day. I think that it has alot of charm for the little ones as it deals with life in a rather dashing-do romantism.
