Rating: Summary: A cult classic you may never have heard of. Review: Anime was once a cult thing until today. Early in Anime history there were few titles that spurred. SOme were more succesful such as Akira and Transformers while others faded into obscurity such as Speed Racer and Voltron.Magnos is more of PG style Anime. Meaning for the sake of argument there is no foul language or sex/nudity. There is adult type situations however involving espionage and plenty of violence. This is almost like a mix between Voltron and Gundam Wing. What I mean by that is that the Heroes fly giant Robots but combat evil giant monsters. The story is that an evil race of Aliens known as PAliogots have awaken after a 10 million year slumber to conquer earth. To do this they create giant monsters to do their biding. Seemingly ivincible these monsters have destroyed cities like they were nothing. Then Sir NEvers creates Magnos a super powered robot which has the strength to destroy these creatures. IT is piloted by his Daughter Ester and the Worlds MArtial Arts Champion Janus. TOgether this team takes on he Paliogots head on. The action never lets up as the creatures get bigger and badder. The music fits the film well and overall this is an underrated title. If it wasn't for the fact that I discovered this DVD (I already owned the VHS) I would have thought that I was the only one who had ever seen this movie. This is not like your typical Anime like I said in which the focus is not on weird humor, loads of Nudity or GOre, and LAnguage. The focus is on the story and it is well told. It has a start middle and finish and over all this is a must buy for any Anime fan, if you can find it.
