Summary: Spectacular ocean footage!
Review: Hawaii Underwater remains as one of the best videos ever produced on the ocean! The creatures filmed are very colorful and some may be intimidating. Renowned filmmaker Lew Trusty deserves much thanks for this magnificent movie! Though very short in time length (30 minutes), it seems that hundreds of ocean inhabitants have been easily photographed underwater. There is also much anticipation of Trusty producing and selling more of these remarkable types of videos on the market.

Review: Lew did an outstanding job of capturing our Hawaiian underwater population. While explaining how fragile the environment is and showing ways to help save it, he also heightens the excitment that surrounds it. The naming of the species at the end is some of the most educational footage available to a scuba diver today. As a PADI Certified Scuba Instructor I'm happy to have these kinds of materials to supplement my training. Great job Lew - it's always great diving with you.

Summary: a Great view of the reefs taken by one who loves them
Review: The Trustys have done it again. Always super photographers and writers, this view of Hawaiian reefs is one of their best. Lew takes you to the heart of the reef to visit the residents (his friends) he shows it in all its beauty, up close and personal. As a diver of 45+ years, a former Chief Engineer of U.S. Divers and a founder of the Underwater Socity I've seen lots of film. This is of the best. Lew has the touch and the feeling to make it live.

Summary: a pretty 25 minute DVD
Review: This DVD is pretty. But, as it does not disclose on the cover, it is only 25 minutes long, er, short! It's just too short. It does identify about a dozen sea creatures, and it does take you to a few dive spots. That's it. And as to the non-English support, it has no subtitles (the fish ID's were subtitled only) -- only dubbing.

Watch it once and you'll never watch it again. It was a waste of money for me.

Summary: This is the best underwater video on the market!
Review: Visually engaging and delightfully colorful, the Trustys take you on a personal guided tour of their Pacific playground. I was immediately enthralled by the vivid colors Lew was able to capture through his lense. What is clearly evident in this video is the love the Trustys have for their Hawaiian home. They share the beauty and wonder of Hawaii's underwater wildlife. As a teacher with 20+ years experience, I found this an extremely useful educational tool as well. It shows the great diversity of aquatic life. With dancing rays, shy Hawaiian monk seals and graceful dolfins, Hawaii Underwater is a great video for all.
