Rating: Summary: Very Cute! Review: My 11 month old liked this DVD when she was 9 months old... but lost interest 10 minutes into it. I decided not to buy it yet but around Christmas when she is 17 months I think it will be perfect. It is very cute and entertaining and my 2 year old Nephew loves it!
Rating: Summary: WORST Christmas Video Review: My 2 year old daughter hated this video & I don't blame her. It was depressing - there were too many repetitions of them singing this depressing song before they finally get to the end and are happy again. Just a horrible Christmas video - Don't buy it!
Rating: Summary: santa and Elmo, how can you miss? Review: My 2 year old loves this video and watches it over and over (thank God Christmas is over and I have put it up till next year)! Maya Angelou tells the story and there is even a new raindeer "Lightning" who takes Elmo from winter to spring to summer and shows him that Christmas just wouldn't be special if it was all the time. Not much music (for the kids) but lots of humorous interactions with the characters.
Rating: Summary: Not all bad Review: My 2 yr old likes this video, mainly because she loves Elmo but also because she is infatuated with Santa and Christmas. The story does get a bit depressing, but that's sort of the point. The scenes with Big Bird make me want to turn it off, but it's pretty cute how the naive little Elmo thinks Christmas everyday is a great idea, then comes to the realization that it probably isn't. The storyline is really more suited toward an older child of perhaps 4 or 5. Also, while I truly enjoyed Charles Durning's Santa, I think a more "jolly" old St. Nick would've been more appropriate for the kids.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining, but... Review: My 22-month old daughter loves this video, she sits glued to the TV whenever I have it on. She is in love with Elmo, but I agree with the other customers. Santa is a bit grouchy, but with it being Christmas every day, it's part of the story. Watch for Bert and Ernie's reaction as they pass the TV sets showing "It's A Wonderful Life" towards the end of the video. Very clever!
Rating: Summary: A great Chrismas video! Review: My daughter is almost two and she wants to watch this video constantly. It's a very cute story about why Christmas should not be every day of the year, but the only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of the Easter Bunny. Trust me, this guy makes me want to turn off the video completely. He gives me the creeps! If it were not for his part in the video, I would have to say that this is our favorite Christmas video and one of our favorite Sesame Street videos (along with Let's Make Music). Geared towards older children, this movie is still fun for younger viewers who love the red and fuzzy Elmo.
Rating: Summary: Elmo Saves Christmas Review: My first older sister (...) loved this video. She loved Lightning, the little reindeer. Her favorite part was when he and Elmo flew around the world real fast. I wanted to review this video for her. She loved Elmo when she was younger and she still does. Elmo has been her favorite since she was 8 months old. She has loved the Rugrats, too, since she was about 4 years old. My second older sister (...) likes the Rugrats too. Although, she doesn't like Elmo. Instead she (...)watches Dora the Explorer. She also likes Between the Lions. (...)
Rating: Summary: A NEW Christmas favorite! Review: My roommate and I both loved this one! Elmo is completely adorable (as usual) and the movie is much better than "Elmo In Grouchland". Contrary to other reviewers, I think the story is a perfect Christmas fable. It shows that Christmas remains a special day because it only comes once a year, yet also explains how to keep the SPIRIT of Christmas alive all year long. Elmo's dismay at realizing how his wish to make his friends happy went terribly awry is sweetly sad, and he still saves the day. "Wish, wish, wish, wish... blitzen!" IF you want a Christmas present for kids of all ages, this is it.
Rating: Summary: Elmo Saves Christmas Review: My son really did not enjoy this dvd at all. I am hoping next year he may be more interested, but this dvd could not keep his interest at all. As an adult, I really did not enjoy the story at all. While I like to see a new twist on things, I thought it was kind of boring...
Rating: Summary: Skip this one, buy a different Elmo Review: My two year old loves Elmo BUT this story is a dud. This is a joyless production with none of the zip, humor and heart found in many other Sesame Street videos and DVD's. The songs are just not good - Charles Durning mumbles a boring little number and Harvey Fierstein's "musical" number seems as if it was written five minutes before taping. Their is just no quality to any of this. The rest of the characters on Sesame Street becomes depressed because every day is Christmas and they cannot get on with the lives. I'm afraid their feelings are contagious. Buy Elmo in Grouchland - lots of story, good songs, humor and very cute.
