Rating: Summary: Excellent review for "Captain Jon Explores the Ocean" Review: "Captain Jon Explores the Ocean" is a wonderfully crafted film for all ages, children as well as adults. This film captures the true intensity and depth of the ocean life, exploring many layers to the ocean as we commonly know it today. This is the first of many more fantastic films to come from Status Productions. I highly reccomend it!
Rating: Summary: If your children loved Finding Nemo... Review: .. they'll also love Captain Jon. The fish, the dolphins, the music, the seaplane, it's fun!
Rating: Summary: MY KIDS LOVED IT!!!! Review: After Finding Nemo came out I got this movie for my son's birthday and the whole family has just LOVED IT!! They keep watching it again and again which is great because it's so educational too! We all can't wait for the next Captain John adventure!!
Rating: Summary: Not that great Review: At 32 minutes long and too much introduction, I found this DVD overpriced. Though the underwater photography is fine, it's also short on the good footage and there is way too much chatter. I was looking for a high-quality production that would engage my three-year old who is fascinated by the "Walking with Dinosaurs" BBC production. He liked the jumping dolphins but otherwise this DVD is WAY THIN. I don't recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Great introductory video to the oceans Review: Capt. Jon's video is a great tool to learn about the world's oceans. The underwater videos are exciting and colorful. The extra information about the ocean's animals at the end of the DVD is very educational. A great addition to movies like Finding Nemo.
Rating: Summary: Nice special features Review: Captain Jon captivated my nephew. He adored everything in the video from the brilliant underwater photagraphy to the fluid animation. Moreover, I learned a thing or two about the oceans. I highly recommend this DVD, and look forward to new videos from the this masterful production team!
Rating: Summary: Worth the wait! Review: Don't miss Relax with Fish - one of the special features - think of it as a classical 8 minute music video featuring the world's animals. My niece loves it! When's the next one?
Rating: Summary: Definitely a ... Review: I bought this title after the suggestion by Amazon when I purchased another title and after I read the glowing reviews. But when I watched it with my three year old I was completely disppointed. Granted some of the images are colorful, the video is filled with too much talk and some of the talk bordered on preaching. Some images, talk talk talk. Some more brief images, talk talk talk. It could not hold my three year old's attention at all. ... Instead, the Island of the Sharks DVD I bought is much much better.
Rating: Summary: Thanks Captain Jon! Review: I gave this as a Christmas present for my children (5 and 7) along with Finding Nemo. Captain Jon is someone to keep an eye on. I can't wait for Captain Jon's Island Adventure in 2004 (you'll see a preview of it on this DVD).
Rating: Summary: Refreshing Piece Review: I had questions about this DVD - but I gave it a shot. It's refreshing to see a new team of filmmakers tackle such a massive topic as the ocean. I think they do it well - the dolphins and the shipwrecks are the major highlights. I'm looking forward to their next installment.
