Rating: Summary: The BEST Barney Video & Great Christmas Video Review: My 4 and 2 year old girls LOVE this video this year and they LOVED it last year too. They ask for this Christmas video more than any other Christmas video. Well worth your money!
Rating: Summary: A great Christmas video for Barney fans! Review: My daughter, who just turned two at Christmas time, really likes Barney and this video was a big hit. I personally find it less annoying than other Barney videos for some reason. Perhaps it's just more acceptable to be sickeningly sweet at holiday time! My three year old niece also enjoyed watching it. This year she was old enough that holiday stuff could really be fun (she had fun when she was one but not quite the same) and I liked that she could have the typical things families do at Christmas (decorating, carols, etc.) reinforced in the video. Anyway - I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a nice holiday video for a small child.

Rating: Summary: Fun Holiday Video for the whole family Review: My twins (age 21 mo.) love Barney's - Night Before Christmas. It has been playing in our house every night since we brought it home. This is their 1st Christmas that they sort of understand and this video has been a wonderful way to introduce/show them all the wonderful things about Christmas. My daughter goes nuts when each of the characters show up, especially Barney! I have even found myself singing along to the old Christmas songs that I have forgot until now. Great addition to our video collection.
Rating: Summary: Good tool for dealing with Junior Review: Now if you ask me, and many parents do now and again, The Barney Phenomenon is frightening. I ain't never seen anything quite like it since I come up in Chesterfield County a coon's age ago. Don't get me wrong, this is praise - not criticism.
See, we got three youngin's, me and Mama. The twins are in school and well beyond being interested in Barney, but Junior, their big brother and our first born, took to Barney when he was just a little weed and he still likes to sit and slack-jaw at the television set whenever his Mama slides the Barney DVD in to the slot. Junior is round about 14 years old and he has all his mental faculties, least that's what the folks at the county health clinic informed us a while back, but that boy is as dumb as a sack of hammers. While his playmates are out starting to discover the fairer gender and are commencing to learn about how cars operate, and how to rebuild basic farm machinery, our Junior is still attached to Barney. Especially late in the day when his blood sugar runs low right before we sit down to get together as a family (the family that eats together, tends to stay together) and commence to eat the spoils of Mama's kitchen craft.
He gets all cranky and flustered and until we can shovel some calories in his cake hole, he is a real pain to be around... so we learned a while back to sit him down in front of the television set and allow him to just be alone and quiet and watch his old friend Barney and it calms his nerves and makes him manageable until we can get the table set and the vittles laid out. Then, we all gather round and sit at the table and wait until the last of the credits have rolled up the screen before Junior will come over and join us. For that reason, I know exactly what length each segment is and time it so as to have it conclude right at the expected time when Mama brings the vittles out to the table and we sit down to eat. On those rare occasions when I cipher the time wrong, then we have to sit there and quietly wait or else Junior gets all crabby and unmanageable.
At Christmas Time we like to place this one in the slot because it has real Christmas carols with the original words and tunes and we can all kind of hum along... but Junior don't like it when we hum too loud because it disturbs him, so we hum along kind of quiet like and respectful as the house fills up with the smells of Mama's cookin'.
The price we paid for this DVD is immaterial. What we got was a convenient way to manage Junior when his blood sugar gets down near the bottom of the scale. Barney is a hero in the Huckabee household and I don't mind at all when that DVD starts playing and that big walk-in puppet starts to sing and dance. Turn the volume up as far as I am concerned, as long as it pacifies Junior and allows us to eventually eat in peace.
By the way, last night we had pork chops and gravy, peas, corn, corn bread, mashed taters, iced tea, and cobbler for desert.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Tape for Christmas Review: This tape is absolutely wonderful. I have to stop my 3 year old from watching it all throughout the summer. As soon as Halloween is over, she is starting to watch her Christmas tapes and make a Christmas list. The first Christmas tape that goes in is Barney's Night Before Christmas. We all enjoy the cute songs, especially the one that they play when they are on an adorable train ride through Santa's workshop. In the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, they sang the song on the Barney Float. It made watching the parade so much fun for not only my daughter, but my husband, myself, and our 13 year old son(12 at the time). We hope to see it this year. If you get this tape, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
Rating: Summary: My son likes "waiting for Santa' better Review: This tape is cute but my son and I find it a little 'draggy'. There's not as much singing and dancing to keep his attention. He doesn't sit to watch the whole tape as he does for lots of other Barney tapes. My 19 month old son seems to like 'waiting for santa' much better. He watches the entire show and I can get things done around the house too that way. "waiting for Santa seems to have more singing and dancing that he enjoys to keep his attention.
Rating: Summary: Worth many times its weight in gold. Review: Until we got smart and bought this DVD, we spent more renting Barney's Night Before Christmas than the cost to own it. The kids (4 and 2 years old) just love it. It is a year-round entrancer. In addition to the video, the games included on the disc are a very nice bonus. The four-year-old also enjoys listening to the disc in Spanish.
Rating: Summary: Nephew Loves This Video Review: We purchased this video for my nephew and even though Christmas came and went, he still watched it for months after first receiving it. Even with the Christmas theme, it is a video that is enjoyable year-round.
Rating: Summary: Super-dee-dooper Christmas Video for the kids! Review: What else can you say, kids LOVE Barney. Parents will want to insert ear plugs and pretend to watch - but kids just love the purple dinosaur. So, if it's holiday time - this is the video that will entertain your child time, after time, after time,....you get the picture. p.s. It's also educational - like ALL Barney videos.
