Summary: Childhood Video Still Entertaining
Review: I started watching "Christmas Eve On Sesame Street" when I was about 3 and I still love it at age 13. The plot, of Big Bird doubting a true Santa, due to Oscar the Grouch's ceaseless plots to spread Christmas distress and paranoia, touches your heart deeply, and the true meaning of Christmas shines brightly through this movie as it entertains with moving song, cute comedy and a satisfying love conquers doubt meaning. I highly recommend this movie for anyone who is searching for a family- friendly movie, a Christmas movie, or a wonderful Muppet or Sesame Street movie. This movie proves that the magic of the Muppets can accomplish anything, including the spreading of the meaning of Christmas in a fun way!

Summary: I am watching this movie every Christmas since 1987
Review: I was born in Germany but lived in Binghampton NY for the first 5 years of my live.We recorded the movie when it was on TV there and when we moved to Germany we watched the Video every Christmas till someone *not me :o)* deleted it on mistake. We couldnt watch it for 2 years or more till i finally got it on VHS from amazon.com I am glad that my family and I can watch it again. Oh does anyone know if there is a soundtrack of the movie ? This is a great Christmas Film even if you are no child anymore :O) That was my review

Summary: It's not Christmas without Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
Review: I've looked all over the house and can't find this video. We've been watching it since my children (now 10, 12, and 14) were very small and I can't get through the holidays without it so I ordered a new one. The story is heart-warming, the music is absolutely wonderful, and it's a "feel good" video. I guess I'm really ordering it for MYSELF, and not the kids - I think that you should do the same! Enjoy.

Summary: The true spirit of Christmas for all ages!!
Review: I've loved this Christmas special about as long as I've been alive!! I was soooooo happy when my sister found a years ago, it's been a treasure of the family collection.
I wondered if this was just a "my generation" thing sometimes.
Then, last Christmas I babysat for my little cousins, aged about 5 and 3. They loved it so much we HAD to watch it three times in a row!!
Buy it today and keep Christmas with you all thru the year!! :-D

Review: The Amazon.com review incorrectly credits Joe Raposo with writing the song "Keep Christmas With You." The lyrics were written by David Axlerod and the music by Sam Pottle.
Sam Pottle was the musical director of Sesame Street following Raposo, and David Axlerod wrote many lyrics for the show, including This Frog, Fuzzy and Blue, What's the Name of that Song, and A Song from Kermit.
The Sesame Street lyricist David Axlerod is NOT the David Axelrod who produced Radiohead and The Electric Prunes.

Summary: Sesame Street on Sesame - A Modern Classic
Review: There isn't enough that I can say about this not so well known show. I am now 29 years old and I remember watching this for the first time when I was about 3 or 4. I absolutely loved this show through out my entire childhood and even into my teens. I would check out the tv guide every December so I would be sure not to miss it. I loved this even more than Rudolp, Frosty, Charlie Brown and other Christmas favorites. I remember being fascinated by Santa's voice echoing from Cookie's belly and being sad for Big Bird when he wasn't sure if Santa would come. I felt very emotional for Bert and Ernie when they had to trade their dearest posessions (Rubber Duckie and Paper Clips Collection) to be able to get gifts for one another - a twist on the Gift of the Magi Christmas Story. Now an adult, this show continues to be a guilty pleasure that I watch several times in the month of December. I have passed the tradition onto my own daughter who is just as smitten with this tale as I was and am.
The song "I Believe in Miracles" continues to choke me up each time I see it. Ernie and Bert's rendition of "The Christmas Song" is also a sentimental treat for me. I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful little story.
Be prepared to see the cast of Sesame Street in their MUCH younger years. Even good old Mr. Hooper is in this movie, who only those of us in our late 20s remember.

Review: This classic holiday program is pure, utter magic for the whole family. I loved this program as a child, and it remains a must-see for me and my family at the holidays to this day. I (thankfully) grew up in the pre-Elmo Sesame Street era, and this show always brings back wonderful holiday memories. The music is unforgettable, especially "True Blue Miracle" and "Keep Christmas With You". The Sesame Muppets are in true form: Big Bird searching for the secret of how Santa gets down the chimney at Oscar's prompting; Cookie eats a pencil, typewriter, and phone while attempting to make his cookie wish list for Santa; Bert and Ernie take a lesson from O'Henry's "Gift of the Magi" as they give up what they treasure most to be able to make each other happy with the perfect gift, but it's Mr. Hooper who reminds them of what's really important. The ice skating party at the beginning is a gem-especially the side-splitting "snap the whip" scene! And at the end, everyone comes together to celebrate friendship and love, as Big Bird, who had gone missing, comes home and realizes it's not the gifts at Christmas that matter: what matters is giving the gift of love everyday to the people you care about. It's all done without being overly precious or preachy. My niece and nephews love it-I'm happy to see it move on to a new generation in our family. I haven't seen it on TV in years, which is a shame, and my VHS copy was taped off TV years ago and in bad shape, so I was thrilled to see it on DVD. Elmo who? You'll never even miss him. His nervous bundle of hyper-energy would be out of place in this sweet, warm, funny, wonderful holiday program. It's magic.

Summary: A great christmas special
Review: This is one of the few dvds I own of Sesame Street and the other one that I own of Sesame Street is Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird. Sesame Street has been on the air since the late 60's (and I think this is now the only longest show ever). Christmas Eve on Sesame Street starts in a christmas skating party in a skating rink near Sesame Street. And things are going good, Ernie nad friends play hockey with Bert's shoe as the hockey puck plus the friends are alos busy having a great time on the ice. Until Oscar is thrown all the way out the door down the stairs and out of out of the bulding. Big Bird and a kid goe to Oscar and he pops a question to Big Bird. His question is how does Santa Clause get down the skinny chimneys and also tels Big Bird that if Santa can't that there will be no Christmas presents under the tree. Plus if you don't think that is enough to have some fun every Christmas, this special has songs to listen to (even sing-along if you want). The songs are Feliz Navidad, A True Blue Miracle, Keep Christmas With You (All Though The Year), I Hate Christmas, and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. The best song in here (in my opinion) is Keep Christmas With You (All Though The Year). The only recored song in this special is Feliz Navidad and the rest are sung by the residents of Sesame Strett from Bert and Erine to Oscar. The song Bert and Erine sing is Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.

Summary: This is Sesame Street at its absolute best!
Review: This is probably the best Sesame Street video out there. This Christmas special from 1978 features the classic cast of the show (including Mr. Hooper). The storyline involves Big Bird trying to figure out how Santa Claus is able to get down every chimney in one night. Also included is a touching story dealing with how far Bert and Ernie will go to get each other something for Christmas. So, if you want a good holiday treat, or are just into nostalgia, this is THE Sesame Street video for you! END
