Summary: If you aren't already a fan, try the CDs first...
Review: As avid, avid fans of the Ralph's World CDs, we rushed out in a torrential downpour to purchase this DVD on the first day it was available. We have all four of Ralph's CDs, and there is one at the ready near every CD player in the house or car. Our daughter (18 months) has been requesting "Ralph" by name for almost as long as she's been able to speak. You get the picture?

But I have to be honest. We are disappointed with the DVD. Ralph, who comes across as so free and expressive in his music, seems stilted and uncomfortable on camera. While the dancing kids are sometimes a nice touch, often they seem forced. The costumed characters also seem to fall short of their intended impact. The best thing about Ralph's music is the authenticity; he does not pander to our children, and he has a fabulous sense of the world from their perspective. This DVD is the antithesis of his music, in my opinion, which is a terrible shame.

So now you're wondering: what does my daughter think? Well, she'll watch it on occasion, but she doesn't ever request it like she does the CDs. In fact, if I'm trying to buy some time to cook dinner, I am better off putting on a Ralph's World CD.

I understand that this is the first of a series, so here's some feedback for the next one: be true to the music. Invest in having the whole band present so the songs don't have to be torn straight from the CDs. Musicians playing instruments are at least as interesting to kids as strange men on unicycles. And I'd rather see the kids singing and dancing along in their own way.

So if you are reading this and considering this DVD as a first foray into Ralph's World, do yourself a favor and pick up some of his CDs first. Once you have fallen in love with Ralph's music and his inimitable style, you will be more inclinded to forgive him for this DVD.

Summary: All My Colors
Review: As dedicated, self-proclaimed Ralph "groupies", our family is thoroughly enjoying Ralph's DVD. Our boys, ages 5 & almost 3 have been singing, dancing and smiling ever since we brought "Say Hello" home. We have seen Ralph perform 3x already, what a treat to see him "in person" anytime we want.

Summary: Ralph Rocks!
Review: Don't pass this one up! This is not one of those kids DVD's where you leave the room right when you put it on! Ralph is such a huge part of our world! My daughter is two (not even two and a half) and knows all of his songs! Now that we can see him on DVD we have even more fun then just singing along. She now does the dance moves to his songs! This is such a fun energy packed DVD I highly recommend it!

Summary: Ralph's World Rocks
Review: I am nine and I think this video is GREAT. Raph is way cool and I am learning the dances that the kids do. I think he is really funny and he has lots of really cool guitars. I love this video. You should definetely buy it.

Summary: Your Children Deserve Better
Review: If I could have chosen 0 stars I would have. I believe the quality of this production should have been better, it looks like it was shot in a rush. The camera work is sloppy. The skits are contrived and the audio/narration is poor. The songs are obviously lip-syncd. I would not subject my child to such a sub-par presentation. The dancing children seemed forced. I would not recommend this video to anyone.

Summary: Absolutely fantastic DVD for toddlers, preschoolers, and up!
Review: If you're looking for a DVD featuring children's music that adults will enjoy, too, definitely give this one a try! Ralph's World offers fun, listenable music that won't grate on adults' nerves like the offerings from some other popular children's artists. The DVD (and the Ralph's World music in general) is appropriate for a wide age range: I think that toddlers, preschoolers, and grade schoolers would all like it. Plus, this fun DVD features a group of talented children who dance and act along with the songs. Watching them, my preschoolers got up out of their seats and started dancing to the music! My kids give this video four thumbs WAY up!!

Summary: My toddler wants to be Ralph!
Review: My 21-month old son is obsessed with this DVD. Instead of being a zombie out in front of the TV like when other programs are on, he dances and sings his way through this. He even pretends to play the guitar to be just like Ralph. I have to admit that the production and editing is a little sloppy during some parts, but only the adults will notice that. Kids will only care that Ralph and cast are fun and colorful and engaging. Sometimes when I need to work or cook I turn the TV on and feel guilty when my son just sits like a lump and watches, but with this DVD I don't feel so bad because he's getting exercise and practicing his vocal skills.

I highly recommend this DVD and can't wait until the next one comes out.

Summary: You Want The Best? You Got The Best!
Review: My 3 year old son and 5 year old daughter prefer Ralph's World "Say Hello" to both The Wiggles and Barney. All that have been asking for is "Ralph video, Ralph video, Ralph video!".

The skits are cute, the children dancers are great, and Ralph's songs are just so dang catchy! The kid's love it so much that I usually treat them by pressing the "repeat" function on the DVD.

Buy this DVD and visit Ralph's World! Your kids will thank you.

Summary: There's a Boom Boom Boom in our Living Room!
Review: My 5 year old son loves Ralph's music and it is a treat to see him perform his songs along with the kids. Bought the video yesterday and he's watched it 3 times so far. I have no problem with my son singing, strumming along with and dancing to "Ralph's World". WAY cooler than Barney or the Wiggles...

A previous reviewer commented on the lip syncing and poor production work. This video is recommended for ages 1 thru 8 who will not notice this one way or the other. The quality is in the music, the backgrounds and the kids who are having a great time dancing.

Summary: We Love Ralph's World!
Review: My husband and I, and our kids too (3 and 1 1/2) love all Ralph's music. We get a lot of requests to play the "Big Rig Guy's" dvd. Our first exposure was with Under the Sea cd and now we all love the Say Hello dvd! Truly wonderful, catchy, feel good music. Our fave on the dvd is Freddy Bear the Teddy Bear!
