Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL MOVIE Review: I am so pleased to find this movie. My children watched this movie and now I'm buying it for my grandson. A wonderful movie for the whole family.
Rating: Summary: A Message From Mr. Movie Buff Review: I can't believe I'm the first one reviewing this! The first Sesame Street Movie is about a meddling social worker, Miss Finch, who is convinced that Big Bird would be happier with his "own kind." After she convinces Big Bird of this, he travels to Oceanview, Illinois, to meet his new family, "The Dodos." But Big Bird doesn't seem to fit in, and is so lonesome and homesick, he sets off on foot for Sesame Street. That's when all of his friends from Sesame Street jump in, and start searching for Big Bird, who is also being chased by Miss Finch, and the Sleeze Brothers, who are just what their names suggest! Just when his friends almost find him, the Sleeze Brothers kidnap Big Bird, and Big Bird's friends show up to rescue him, in an exciting climax! I saw this at the theater when I was very little, loved it, and have owned three copies since! All your old Sesame Street pals, memorable music, and guest star cameos by John Candy, Chevy Chase, and Sandra Bernhard, make this movie a sensation!P.S. Maybe now that I've broken the ice, it'll make some of you other fans come forward too.
Rating: Summary: I STILL LOVE THE MUPPETS! Review: I have been a fan of the muppets for as long as I can remember. FOLLOW THAT BIRD is a wonderful film! Smiley, Placido Flamingo; these were my friends while I was growing up. FOLLOW THAT BIRD just re-enforces these precious memories and feelings of joy. And Knowing that Bob, Maria, Louise, Gordon and all the other inhabitents of SESAME STREET are still going strong today ... it makes watching the film even better. For these guys still exist in television ... they have taught half a dozen generations ... that's a great feeling ... that it's still a "Sunny day sweeping the clouds away." My only gripes? The DVD. No extras and no widescreen. However, I will buy FOLLOW THAT BIRD on DVD because all my other muppet films are in this format.
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL movie! Review: I have to agree with the other two reviews--as a married woman, I still love this movie. The songs are great, and the story is heartwarming--basically, it's about a bird adoption agent (Miss Finch) who thinks that Big Bird shouldn't be on Sesame Street because he doesn't have a bird family--she says he should be with his "own kind". She convinces him that being with only birds is best, and they ship him off to Illinois. When he becomes unhappy, he leaves, and both Miss Finch and the Sesame Street crew (along with two slimy brothers who want to catch Big Bird for profit at their amusement park) decide to "Follow that bird!" In the end, Miss Finch decides that you don't need to be with your "own kind" to be happy--that diversity is a good thing, and we can all live together and love one another! If you're a parent, your children will love this. (You will, too). Even now, I like to pop in the movie and watch it with my husband. It's a timeless movie, and I wish every house had a copy of this movie in their possession.
Rating: Summary: BIG BIRD AT HIS BEST Review: I MUST ADMIT THAT THIS IS OE OF MY FAVORITES. I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER AND CRYING WHEN THEY DYE BIG BIRD BLUE. ITS A CLASSIC FILM THAT EVERY FAMILY AND INDIVIDUAL MUST OWN. IT HAS ALL YOUR FAVORITES AND OSCAR THE GROUCH AT HIS BEST!
Rating: Summary: Sesame Street Presents:Follow That Bird Review: I remember seeing this movie on video when I was just about four or five years old. I still think about and I'm 12 years old. I remember that there was some drama, but this is comedy and family when I should be comedy, family, drama. The sadess parts of the movie is 1.Big Bird is not in Sesame Street and he really misses them. 2.Big Bird is panted blue and is taken away to a circuis. and (spoiler) My favorite song that was in it was "One Little Star" it will put tears in your eyes. The person I really hate in the flim is Miss Fintch because she wants to take Big Bird away to his family. This movie is an example of "The Muppets Take Manhattan" because they both have sad parts, sad music, and should have been a comedy, family, and drama. Thank you Jim Henson.
Rating: Summary: Good-but be careful Review: I remember watching this as a kid and my mother even has pictures of me balling everytime it came on. This movie has made me scarred for life...everything goes wrong over and over again and takes forever to let up. Poor Big Bird...give him a break. If your kid has a big heart and pitties others easily, do not let he/she watch this alone. I still get teary-eyed when he sings "I'm a Blue Bird." I don't think this movie is for everyone...be careful, at least watch it with your kids and pay attention to their reaction. If you kid(s) don't get sad at that part...you should think about what all they've been exposed to and make sure he/she still has a heart. I'm serious(...)
Rating: Summary: So I'm 23 Years Old, I Like This Movie and I Don't Care! Review: I saw this movie for the first time when I was about 8 years old, and even though I thought I had outgrown Sesame Street by that time, I was absolutely wrong. The story line for this movie is pretty simple: Big Bird feeling as though he has nobody (meaning other birds) to really talk to on Sesame Street decides to move out and live with a bird family called the "Dodos". However, once settled in with the Dodos, Big Bird decides that they are even too "brainless" for him. In the middle of the night, Big Bird sneaks out of the Dodos home and begins a kind of "lost" roadtrip. While Big Bird is out on the road, the rest of the Sesame Street gang, having received a rather sad home sick letter from Big Bird, set out on their own to try to find and bring back home their beloved friend. Eventually, the rest of the gang do find Big Bird being held captive by a couple of greedy exhibitionists. Of course, in the end they manage to free our giant feathered friend, the bad guys are caught, and everybody lives happily ever after. Even though not as good as the Muppet series of films (the first 3 Muppet films anyway), "Follow That Bird" truly is a magical film for all ages, and can be enjoyed by anyone who has an imagination and wants to relive some of their childhood memories. Seeing as how I am one of those people, I'm sure that I will be purchasing my copy of this video sometime in the near future. Thank you, Jim Henson.
Rating: Summary: How could you not love a movie from Sesame Street? Review: I saw this when I was little, and I loved it! Being a general fan of all of Jim Henson's Muppets, there was no way that I couldn't completely adore this delightful story about Big Bird's spectacular journey to and away from his "adopted family" and how sorely he is missed in the Sesame Street neighborhood.
Rating: Summary: A must watch..young and old Review: I watched this movie as a kid, over and over again. I finally wore out the first tape, then my parents bought me another. When i was younger, it would keep my occupied, the singing, the laughs, and different lifestyles of the characters in the movie. I was fascinated with the farm the little boy and girl live on. This movie didn't just last during my childhood, but i'm 17 now and i still love to watch the movie. It has meanings and morals all through the movie. And when you're older and watch the movie, you regroup with your inner child and it's is when you realize what the movie is telling you, that happiness is right in your neighborhood. I finally learned that after watching the movie for 17 years...
