Summary: GREAT!!! EDUCATIONAL!!! MEZMERIZING!!1
Review: I bought this for my 2 year old Grandson (whom I babysit) and he watches it everyday. He has favorite parts of each one, the cow poop scene on "The Farm Tractors" selection, blowing up the rocks on "Building a House", and scraping up the pavement on "Building a Road". Each day it's something different, depending on his mood, but we always watch the "tractor show". It is educational, I learned alot (and I have a college degree)! I think it would be too boring without the music and he loves the guys and imitates their waves. He knows Rusty's and George's waves and will ask you how they wave....you'd better get them right! I would highly recommend this DVD. Believe it or not, it is very calming, and keeps their attention for a long time. A good thing to put on while you are trying to make supper.

Review: I can't wait to get this DVD - heard fantastic things about it - be beware. Amazon is advertising that this is available in 2 - 4 weeks. hmmmm . . .well I ordered mine on November 18, 2004 and haven't received it yet. They do apologize about once a month but I would rather they'd been accurate from the start.

Summary: The best gift EVER for my son!
Review: I ended up scouring the Internet and video shops for the last 6 months trying to find a DVD with construction equipment for my 3 year old son. Finally a DVD that is educational and fun. It has all the elements that my son likes.... heavy equipment!!!! A must for boys.

Summary: The best gift EVER for my son!
Review: I have never seen my boy mesmerized by one DVD..or better yet..mesmerized by anything like this, ever! I can put Big Machines One and Two in the DVD player, and he will be quiet, and watch over and over and over again (it replays from the beginning at the end). It is three episodes on one DVD. He loves this more than he loves anything else in the house. I highly recommend these DVDs. But beware, addiction occurs!

Summary: ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!
Review: My son has watched this dvd EVERY DAY since Christmas and is absolutely mesmerized. I even learned a few things about home construction and farm life, the first half-dozen times I watched it with him. He points out the same vehicles/tractors when we see them on the road and plays w/ his tonka trucks on the floor while watching. Not sure what we'd do without this. Planning to buy volume 2!

Summary: Boring and Poorly done
Review: Okay, below was my original review and I now have to take it all back. My boy, girl, and I absolutely love this movie. It took a while to adjust to it as it wasn't what we had expected. In particular I think the entire farm section is aboslute art! Rusty for President. Anyway, my wife has been nagging me to change this review. I sure hope I didn't cause too many people to pass up this video (BTW I'm ordering volume 2 and my buddy is buying 6 copies for all his nephews).

All I can say is when you get it, watch it once or twice before taking an opinion.

Sorry guys, I bought this because it seemed like the general feedback was positive. My list of problems;
1) Music plays over sound of the machines. My little boy (2 1/2) is always thrilled by the SOUNDS of the machines, not some cheap muzak.
2) What's with all the tight shots on the machines? My boy wants to see the whole thing, not some small moving part.
3) Poor monologue. Not sure what the point was but they spent too much time talking when my boy just wants to see the machines.

Can't recomend it.

Summary: Very Good
Review: Our two-year old loves trucks and tractors, so him liking this video comes as no surprise. We recommend this video because it's even intestesting for adults, which is great when he wants us to watch it with him. The "Farm Country" part is the best of the three in our opinion.
Big Machines 2 is already purchased and stashed away to be a birthday gift when he turns three. We are looking forward to seeing it.
