Rating: Summary: Buy the DVD so you can skip the irritating songs. Review: My 15 month toddler is absolutely addicted to this video. Ask him "How big is baby?" and he throws up his hands like the kids in the song "So Big". He claps along with the kids, spins when they spin and so on. I like it, too, because MOST of the songs are very cute and educational. But I have to skip "Rub A Dub" with the ugly alien, and "Shout and Whisper" with the shouting. With time, I've learned to ignore the very dated costumes, which remind me of my high school days. The main drawback -- the embarrassment of being caught singing "I have a little potty of my very own..." in the grocery store. It's a catchy tune!
Rating: Summary: Typical Hap Palmer Style Review: My 18-month old baby loves Hap Palmer videos. I can't figure out the secret, but she is mesmerized even though the formula is rather outdated and "hokey". The songs are well, infantile, appropriately so, but cute and memorable. I highly recommend this video for as young as 9 months because of all the babies that are featured in the visual presentation.

Rating: Summary: Entertaining video songs that enchant toddlers. Review: My 2 year old says "sing songs" every day! This gives any parent 24 minutes of peace, although you may find yourself singing along. A must have for all new parents. Besides entertaining, the songs all have a lesson we want our kids to learn. I especially like "My Mommy Comes Back" and "Today I Took My Diapers Off".
Rating: Summary: My son loves it ... Review: My cousin gave this to us as a gift. It sat on a shelf until I finally gave in on videos when my son was 19 months. He absolutely loves it and will watch no other video. The video is engaging for a toddler--very low budget but of real kids running around doing stuff--and the songs range from entertaining to instructive. I only have one criticism. There is a song on the video about needing a blanket as a security object. If the blanket is taken away for washing, the child might be "lonely", "scared", "get angry" or "cry". The song does nothing but model insecurity for children who don't presently feel it and reinforce it for those who do. I was horrified when my son ran to get a blanket from his room while watching this song. He hasn't done that since but I could see this being a big influence on kids. The song should go. Otherwise it keeps my son out of my hair for a half an hour.
Rating: Summary: i watched it just the other day Review: My cousins and I used to watch Babysongs Vol. 1 constantly before bedtime or naptime. It's the best! I'm now 16, but when I was over at my grandparents, I had to show one of my cousins the tape. He wasn't as enthusiastic as I was. Finally when the "Baby's Good Doggy" song came on I tried to get him to see it by saying, "Jimmy, come look at these hot 12 year olds (remember the 2 girls who teach Sally a dance?)!It didn't work though. His loss.
Rating: Summary: 14 Years later still buying it Review: My daughter and I first watched Baby Songs as a filler on the Disney Channel. She would go nuts everytime they played one of the songs, so I bought the tape. It went through both my kids, and has been handed down several times. Now I am getting 2 more-- 1 for my nephew and 1 for my god-daughter. My 14 yo daughter got really excited to find out that the tape is still in existence and wants to watch it with the little ones as the songs are so catchy and memorable.
Rating: Summary: 3 years and still watching Review: My daughter has been watching this video for about 2 years now. She's old enough to sing along with the songs, little sound bytes from "Today I took my diapers off" accompany us everywhere. She has other videos, and has started to like longer ones, but these have been her absolute favorites. A little hokey looking maybe, but they can give you about 30 minutes of time for you....
Rating: Summary: Baby Songs will become a daily routine! Review: My daughter loved the Baby Songs video from the first time we put it in the VCR until we gave it to my nephews as a "hand-me-down." It was part of her morning routine for over a year and is now part of their night-time routine. The poor tape is nearly worn out. I will be purchasing one for the new expected nephew or niece.Hap Palmer has been a celebrity in Kindergarten classrooms around the country for years (in fact many of us parents learned the days of the week, months of the year, colors and numbers by singing his songs in school). Hap Palmer has the gift of truly understanding children and being able to communicate with them. Any toddler who is able to enjoy this tape is very lucky.
Rating: Summary: This is the one "must have" video for infants and toddlers. Review: My granddaughter loves no other video like her "songs". Far from just being entertaining, this video is starting her well on the road to a love of music. This is truly a child centered production (even if Nana does wake up singing).
