Summary: not quite right
Review: Another reviewer states that the box set for Batman Beyond is probably coming so it might not be a great idea to buy this DVD. According to tvshowsondvd.com Warner Bros is planning to release all of the Batman Beyond episodes to DVD but most likely in the single disc six episode format (that would only mean about 6 more discs to cover all the episodes). More are due out later this year but details haven't been released. I wouldn't hold my breath for season sets, this might be as good as it gets.
Then again, none of the plans are set in stone.

Summary: More Batman Beyond
Review: I've been waiting for more Batman Beyond on DVD ever since they released the original movie disc years ago. Finally, WB is giving us more - not in season sets however, but in transfers of its old VHS tapes.

This disc contains two of the old VHS compilation tapes, "Tech Wars" and "Disappearing Inque", for a total of six episodes. The six episodes are: Heroes, Lost Soul, Splicers, Black Out, Disappearing Inque, and Shriek. While Heroes is a bit of a dud, the other five episodes are all great entertainment.

So is this disc worth a purchase? Well, it contains 6 episodes - 2 more than most of what WB's other animated Batman discs offer. It's also better than the other Batman Beyond compilation DVD recently released (School Dayz/Spellbound) which rehashes three episodes from the "Batman Beyond: The Movie" disc. HOWEVER, it appears that WB is dumping these compilation discs on us NOW to get all its VHS properties on DVD before starting on season sets. A box set of BTAS has been confirmed. Batman Beyond can't be too far behind, though it might still be a few years.

Batman Beyond's a great series, and 6 episodes is worth the price of the disc. If you can't wait for the box sets, then this disc has enough value to be worth a purchase.

Summary: Should be five but...
Review: Man, I have to say that as a grown-up, I really liked this show. I felt alot of the episodes, especially the earlier ones were targeted towards the older crowd. If you knew your Batman mythos than there were hidden gems in each episode. So if I'm rambling about how much I liked this show than why did I give it 4 instead of 5 stars? Because there are only a few episodes. Where is the Season 1 box sets that we crave? Yes I bought this disk but I would prefer to by the season. Otherwise, if you need your Batman Beyond fix, buy the disk.
