Rating: Summary: Disappointment for the Wiggles Review: Otherwise known for providing phonenominal entertainment for youngsters in the form of goofy songs with adorable movements that all young-at-hearts can dance along with, this DVD is a sad derivaton. My 20 month-old hated it. Back to Yummy Yummy and The Wiggles Dance Party...
Rating: Summary: Boring - need more like Yummy Yummy Review: Our 20 month old son loves the Wiggles. He watches Yummy Yummy again and again. What happened to the focused shots and the dancing kids? We hate those back up dancers - they are terrible and boring. The songs are too complicated and muddled sounding compared to their clear and easy to follow songs on previous CD's. I hope they read this and go back to the original stuff. This CD isn't any good and doesn't even keep his attention. I wish we hadn't bought it.
Rating: Summary: Great video, great educational value! Review: The newest of the Wiggles video, this one really is different. They're back in the studio again but also out in the streets too. It's neat to see them at the Great Wall of China, New York City, etc., to introduce children to various occupations and how they help us. You don't usually hear words like "botanist" and "horticulturalist" in children's songs, but you'll hear it in this video! I just love the educational value of these videos and all the positive reinforcement they provide. It's just refreshing to see something positive for a change. My child loves this video and really enjoyed the "birdy" song. Pretty funny stuff there! Plus the out-takes of the making of the "Cold Spaghetti" western are great fun! That pirate is something else once again. He should get awards for what he does. Thanks Wiggles!
Rating: Summary: WIGGLES on TOP with Top of the Tots Review: Their songs keep on getting better and better... These are some of the best tunes they've ever written. I find myself singing them all day. My nearly 2-year-old LOVES THIS DVD! She loves the dogs and the airplanes and the firetrucks and the cows... I like the educational material incorporated into the songs/skits. I think the interesting and neat thing about The Wiggles is their ability to write songs that both kids and parents like. Some of my child's "music" for children is barely tolerable whereas I never get sick of anything by The Wiggles, especially their more recent releases. The only drawback to this DVD is there is very little "solo" Dorothy, Wags, Henry or Captain Feathersord scenes but for some reason the whole big group ensemble along with the dancers and children really works. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. IT'S WONDERFUL.
Rating: Summary: Great Fun for the Kids and Entire Family!!! Review: This "Wiggles" video has to be one of the best on the market, and it would appear that it may have been taken from their own TV show. In any case, it is set up in a "Variety Show" format, with all the regulars, like Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog, The Wiggles Dancers (great group!), Captain Feathersword, not to mention all the various children who have cameos in this video.
What makes this video so much a treasure is the fact that the Wiggles interview many "real life" people, like New York firefighters, a dentist, an Olympic medal winner, a grocer, bricklayers, and farmers, and they include original songs to highlight their professions. It not only makes for entertaining songs and dances, but it is educational as well.
The songs are the best, and they're all so easy to remember. Like "Swimming" "Tick Tock," and an interesting original, devoted to eating fruit and vegetables.
This is a great video, and highly recommended!!!
Rating: Summary: Almost back to the good old format Review: This is a wonderful change from the formats of the last few Wiggles DVD's. We're back to the skits, the songs and the dancing, with a great deal of educational material thrown in. The parts where people explain what they do, and the vists to New York and China were nice touches. It's also great to see the return of some of the children, but they should be in more of the songs, and there should be more of them, instead of those older back-up dancers in the horrible uniforms. (I really don't like those ever-present red uniforms that have appeared recently in Wiggly Safari and Wiggle Bay) The choreography is not as good as in the first videos, but it's improving. Captain Feathersword is getting a bit on the tubby side, and Henry the Octopus has changed a little also. The Wiggles are still in their unflattering "Star Trek" type pants. Even with all the above, this is a very entertaining DVD, and my son loves it. We're looking forward to getting "Cold Spaghetti" when it comes out in March.
Rating: Summary: Depends on what your child likes about the Wiggles Review: This is the only Wiggles video that my 2-year-old daughter has not liked. She is a huge Wiggles fan and will stand at the DVD player shouting "Wiggles" if she goes too long without seeing them. Unfortunately with this DVD she lost interest almost immediately. After 10 minutes she was asking me to put something else in. Considering the fact that she would have the Wiggles on the TV all day long if I let her that was quite a shock. Obviously just because she doesn't like this DVD doesn't mean that other children will not but I think there are several reasons why she didn't like it. First, the Wiggles themselves continue the trend of acting more like a band then a dance troupe. In most of the songs they are just playing instruments while the professional dancers do all of the work. Second, the dance routines are not as lively or complex as in previous Wiggles tapes. Third, the Wiggles themselves seem to get very little camera time doing anything interesting. Dorothy, Wags, and Henry are barely in the video at all and Captain Feathersword spends more time playing the drums than being his normal riotous self. He only has one or two scenes where he shows off his silliness and considering he is my daughter's favorite character that was a big negative. I think that if your child is one who likes to listen to the music CDs then this video should be fine. If your child cares less about the songs and more about what the Wiggles are doing onscreen then you might want to rent this DVD or borrow it from a friend as a test before buying it.
Rating: Summary: not the wiggliest Review: This movie is OK at best. What is most disappointing is that it is very unwiggly. There is no mention of Wiggle World, the songs sound like bad 70s tunes, and the Wiggly Dancers are retarded. Perhaps most disappointing is that the Wiggles don't seem to be the same four fun-loving, silly people that they were in their earlier work. Skip this one unless your child is a die-hard Wiggle fan who must have every Wiggle movie. I just hope the Wiggles haven't lost their wiggle for good.
Rating: Summary: HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! Review: THIS MOVIE IS SO STUPID!IT SUCKS!MY BROTHER HAS IT AND HE HATED IT SO MUCH THAT HE SCRIBBLED MARKER ALL OVER IT!WHOEVER THOUGHT UP THE WIGGLES SHOW IS WEIRD!
Rating: Summary: Not impressed Review: We have "Wiggly Play Time" and my 20 month old LOVES it. I was hoping to expand his repetoir of Wiggles music and bought this DVD today. I do NOT like it and neither does my son! The songs are way too complicated and the music is ten times more complex than the good ol' Wiggles tunes.
I'd skip this one if I were you. Hot Potato and Wiggly Play Time are great, however.
