Rating: Summary: great for the younger Wigglers! Review: We received this video as a gift when my daughter was just a baby. Even then she would bob her little head when she heard the Wiggles sing between shows on Playhouse Disney. Ever since then she's been hooked. She's now 20 months and although she still enjoys this video I must admit that she does prefer others now like Hoop Dee Doo and Toot Toot. This video just doesn't have as much going on as the others, and the songs and dances are very very simple. But I think this is exactly what was so great about it when my daughter was a bit younger. Sometimes kids shows just have so much going on that they just can't follow them. Yummy Yummy is just right for young toddlers in that respect. As far as the songs, they're some of our favorites. I embarrassed to admit it but my husband and I actually love the Pufferbillies song and even do the movements! And what Wiggle's collection would be complete without Fruit Salad? Overall I would say this is a very good video. As far as the puppets go, yes they are a bit weird but have never scared my daughter fortunately. Although they do drive my husband and me bonkers!! Buy this one, you won't be sorry.
Rating: Summary: Not so great - a disappointment for this Wiggles fan Review: The video is nothing but musical number after musical number. I wish there were more vignettes to mix things up a bit. Also, for the price it is quite short - just over 35 minutes long. I agree the puppets seem creepy to me, but my son enjoyed them, esp. the Captain Feathersword puppet.
Rating: Summary: one of the best Review: My two year old loves this video and the songs and dances are so fun....He gets up and dances and sings along....It's very cute....
Rating: Summary: My daughter is mesmerised by this. Review: I love the Wiggles. The Wiggles are an Australian quartet who sing upbeat numbers aimed at ages 1-8. My 17 month old loves them and will dance away and follow the movements whenever I put this on (a great diversion). The music is upbeat, much better that other music I have heard for kids and bearable even for adults (I hate Barney). There are a number of characters, Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword who all have their own quirks. As mentioned, there are two songs with puppets which I found creepy but my daughter loves, even one which is rather techno. She also enjoys the magic show and will talk away to the tv when it is on. I definitely recommend this.
Rating: Summary: This one has the songs you're looking for Review: Take it from a home where The Wiggles currently reign supreme (at least as far as my 22-month-old Wiggles-addicted daughter is concerned): This isn't the best Wiggles video (That honor would go to "It's a Wiggly Wiggly World.") But it's among the better ones. And if you're looking for the songs your kids know from the TV show, this tape will take care of quite a few. Yes, you'll tire quickly of "Fruit Salad," "Hot Potato" and the other songs so frequently repeated on the Disney Channel show, but your kids will love the ability to watch them on their own schedule, rather than the network's. And if you don't want to be chained to a TV schedule, either, so will you.
Rating: Summary: One of my son's favorites Review: My 17-month-old LOVES the Wiggles. This was our first video, but certainly not our last. The minute he hears the guys start talking, he's running into the room to see them. Ok, the puppets ARE scary, but not to my child. My husband and I are the ones that they freak out. My son is glued to the TV when the puppets come on. This is good, since the segment will give me that 2 minute chance to do the quick chores that I really don't want him "helping" with (ie: loading knives into the dishwasher). The only thing we have found that he loves more that the Wiggles is Elmo. I could do without the Barney ads, though. Not fans of the big, purple dino. Now if we could just get the Wiggles to come to our town.....
Rating: Summary: My 2 year old loves this video! Review: Our 2 year old son asks for this video by name as soon as he wakes up in the morning. He laughs, sings and dances all the way through it. He isn't very fond of the puppets though..i always have fast forward through those. But all and all our son LOVES this video!
Rating: Summary: My children love it Review: My children ages 11 months and 2 years old recieved this DVD as a gift. We did not know who the Wiggles were because we do not see them in our country. But from the first time they saw the Wiggles, they were hooked. Not a day goes by that they do not watch 'Yummy Yummy'. They enjoy and dance to every song. My 11 month old never keeps still long enough to notice anything. but when the Wiggles are on, he sits, claps and even dances to the songs. My children enjoyed them so much I purchased addition 'wiggles' dvd. My 2 year old has even become a little chef. She wants to make 'fruit salad'.
Rating: Summary: Not the best Wiggles DVD - good music but way weird puppets Review: This is the third in our Wiggles DVD collection and my third-favorite. It contains many great songs and the choreography is strong. Best ones include "Shaky Shaky," "Hot Potato'" "Fruit Salad," and "D.O.R.O.T.H.Y." The label also says it includes "Point Your Fingers and Do The Twist" along with "Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!" but only a closer look at the fine print reveals these songs are performed by PUPPETS. Not only that, the puppets' voices sounds like they are on helium and the tempo is sped up greatly. These two songs scared my 2 year old son, and we always have to skip them. My advice: get Toot Toot or Wiggly Safari but for the songs Yummy Yummy includes you could just set your VCR to playhouse disney and tape the songs you want.
Rating: Summary: Let this be last choice Review: My 15 month old son is a huge Wiggles fan (we own 7 of their videos) and this is the one video that really didn't keep his attention 100%. The 2 puppet skits should have been cut out. I noticed that my son doesn't relate to the dorky puppets at all, not to mention, they are hard on the eyes and do not look anything like the Wiggles themselves. We have found that Toot Toot, Wiggly World, and Hoop Dee Doo are the best attention keepers. These 3 videos also have the best songs. Yummy Yummy is ok, but not great. Their other videos are way better. If I had to choose an order of preference, this one would come last.
