Rating: Summary: PUPPETS? Review: Both my children, ages 3 and 1, love this video. Those puppets are creepy. They don't bother my 1 yr. old, but my 3 yr. old doesn't like them. My husband says they look like muppets on acid. They just make me laugh. Other than that, I recommend this DVD.
Rating: Summary: Still Yummy! Review: This DVD is worth purchasing because it has great songs which my son loves. Yes, it has those creepy looking puppets (don't know what they were thinking when they designed them), but my 18 month old son doesn't seem to be bothered by them. I was worried at first when I heard about puppets, but I think my husband and I are more scared than him. If you get past their creepiness, it's a pretty funny segment("Point Your Fingers"). I had borrowed the video when my son was about 1 year and bought the DVD months later despite it, I give it 4.5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Yummy Yummy is great! Review: The Yummy Yummy video is great- my son is one and he has been watching it since he was 8 months old. It really catches his attention and holds his interest. The only part that he isn't interested in is the "Magic skit". But he loves all of the other ones. We all like the "Puppets" segments, although there have been many reviews against them. They do look a little creepy but you have to admit, when they put their heads together and chant, "Fruit Salad, yummy yummy" it is funny- I still laugh after seeing it 100 times plus... My husband and I know all of the words to all of the songs and the guys at work laugh when I break into "Hot Potato" or "Fruit Salad". Good job Wiggles!
Rating: Summary: Can't stop dancing Review: My boys can't help but dance whenever this video is on. Each day, they learn a new move. I enjoy dancing with them as well and consider it my workout.
Rating: Summary: It's not about the Puppets, it's that you can't skip them Review: The content of this DVD is excellent (all the hits the kids are grooving to these days...) --EXCEPT FOR THE PUPPETS! They are really scary. Even I find them nightmarish. They really are straight out of a horror film. But that would be okay if this worked like a normal DVD. You could just skip the track and move on. But the tracks do not correspond to the beginning and ends to the songs. The first puppet sequence, for example, spans less than one track, so if you try to skip over the puppets, you skip over at least one other entire song. The same is true for the second puppet sequence. Bc the DVD is so poorly designed, you miss about 1/4 of the content. So my advice is DON'T SPEND THE EXTRA $$$ ON THE DVD. It isn't worth it. At least with the video, you can FF through the puppet sequence and see the good songs that you have to miss with the DVD.
Rating: Summary: Among the Classics!!! Review: This video begins by featuring "Quack, Quack, Quack," a really great introduction song, and its filled with action and easy to learn words. Our twin girls have it down pat. Then the video takes off, and like the title suggests- "Yummy Yummy" is one of many songs in this song and dance festival for the kids and adults alike.
There are a couple of Wiggles Puppet sequences, and if you're not used to it, you should give it a little time, for it grows on you. Then there are the standard songs- Pufferbellies," "Hot Potato, Hot Potato," among others, as well as a traditional song - "Shalom Alechem," which they perform with precision as well as have their dancers do a traditional Jewish dance while they perform it.
A wonderful video for the entire family!!!
Rating: Summary: Good dvd EXCEPT for the puppets Review: Overall this is a good dvd. I would probably give it a 5 stars IF not for the puppets--they scare my 15-month old. Whenever they appear on tv, I have to fast forward the dvd or my son runs scared (literally) to me. Whoever thought of that concept should be fired. My son loves puppets in general, like Elmo and Barney BUT these Wiggles puppets are downright scary with their big eyes and oversized heads. On top of that, they used squeaky voices and the beat of the music seems more appropriate for a night club than a kids' clubhouse!
If your child does not mind the puppets, its a very good dvd to have since it contains some of The Wiggles classic songs and some traditional songs. I just hope this is the last we see of these puppets.
