Rating: Summary: Another Wiggles hit Review: After a 2 year old friend of my sons came over with a Wiggles tape (It was Yummy, yummy!) My son kept asking for his own. Our first Wiggles experience was Wiggles Christmas-which was a HUGE hit. We invested in Yummy Yummy on cd for the car, and we now know every word to every song. I'm often told, MOMMY, TURN IT UP, PLEASE!! We were in Target and we saw Yummy Yummy and my son grabbed it, and put it in the cart! I think the pirates are a bit weird, but my son loves them, and that's all that really matters. We have Wiggle Time, Toot Toot, and Wake Up Jeff and I have to say that we love them all. Sean (who is almost 3) loves Captain Feathersword the best, and has told his parents that Me (his mom) is Dorothy the Dinosaur and my hubby is Henry the Octopus. The Wiggles really grow on you, and I get my exersise as well, dancing around with my son. Aerobics, nah, we have The Wiggles! I also recommend the cd for the car, you'll be singing all the way to school, the store, work , or wherever else you go!
Rating: Summary: The Gold Standard for children's videos Review: I love the Wiggles, my wife loves the Wiggles, and most importantly so do my 1 1/2 year-old son and 5 year-old daughter. As a musician myself, the songs are consistently first-rate--catchy, varied, and engagingly performed. The choreography is also excellent--elegantly designed to be both engaging to watch but easy to imitate, and very well performed by both the adults and children. None of the sappy sentimentality or general dimwittedness of Barney, just plain FUN. I don't quite understand the hair-splitting over Yummy Yummy vs. Wiggle Time--our family simply loves both tapes, and we've been watching both of them over and over. I've also been humming the songs at work as well, and more importantly not at all minding that. My daughter admits the puppets are "weird," but we all got over that one, and "Point Your Finger" is an amazingly fun little techno song. In short, these guys have a great thing going, and if you hate other kid-vids you might nonetheless just love the Wiggles.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: I rented this video for my son from the library and he must have watched it 20 times. We had seen the commercials on the Barney videos and I wondered if 30 minutes of what was on the commercial would be interesting to him. So, we rented it first. I read the comments about the puppets and I have to admit, they are my favorite part. I love "Point Your Finger". And my son (2 1/2) doesn't mind if I rewind it so I can see the puppets again. I assumed he would like all the Wiggles videos as much as he liked this one but we bought "Toot Toot" this weekend and he doesn't seem to like it. I guess we will have to invest in "Yummy Yummy" and rent the other ones first before buying them.
Rating: Summary: Exactly what I was looking for! Review: My 2 year old daughter loves this video. She has to watch it everyday, and knows all the words to the songs. I never thought I would find a video that she would actually sit and watch the whole way thru, but she did. The songs are wonderful and she is able to understand the words. She also enjoys the puppets and watches the other kids in the video. I recommend this video to any parent of a child that has a hard time finding videos they will actually watch.
Rating: Summary: hours of fun and entertainment Review: These videos are very entertaining to our 2 year old and 7 year old. Our 2 year old dances and wiggles just like the guys do in the videos. She even takes them to her babysitters and puts on a show for all the other kids. These shows have even helped her developmental and coordination skills. We highly recommend these videos to any parent. We have purchased every one of their videos. Hope there will be more to come in the near future.
Rating: Summary: More Hot Potatoes, Please! Review: The Wiggles are fantastic! After seeing them on the Today show in November, my 1 1/2 yr. old danced around the house singing "Hot Potatoes" all day. Santa brought Yummy Yummy and Wiggle Time videos and they're practically worn out already. My 5 yr. old loves them too. This is the only video--actually, T.V.--my 1 1/2 yr. old watches and I don't mind because she dances through the whole thing--there's no "down time" for her on this video except for the 2 minute magic show in the middle. She's constantly asking for "Hot potato" and for mommy to dance too. Even with frigid temperatures this winter, so far we don't have cabin fever yet thanks to these kiddie aerobics instructors.
Rating: Summary: THIS BEATS BARNEY! Review: My 1 year old would watch this over and over again if I would let her. She is so excited when I put this tape in. She dances, claps her hands, and plays along. When she's in the mood to watch it, she says "Karli watch Wiggles!" My husband and I even sing along and my 4 month old sits in her exersaucer and watches the bright colors dance around.
Rating: Summary: OK, but the puppets need to go... Review: My two boys constantly want to watch Wiggle Time. I bought Yummy Yummy to get a break from Wiggle Time and we're disappointed. Yummy Yummy has these strange puppets in it that spook my almost 3 year-old. The Hot Potato Song is the best song on the video and that is on the Wiggle Time video...so I recommend skipping this tape and sticking with Wiggle Time.
Rating: Summary: Our daughter loves the Wiggles - Great tapes for toddlers Review: Our 20 month old daughter is not that interested in many children's videos but she loves the Wiggles. The music and the dancing keep her attention and she likes to imitate the dances and actions. Of the 3 Wiggle videos that are currently available, this tape is their second best. If you're only buying one tape, I'd recommend "Wiggle Time" over this one. "Wake Up Jeff" is our least favorite Wiggles tape- it must have been done much earlier and with a very low budget. The costumes and props are very "cheap" looking. It's OK, but not as good as the others.Although we play this tape a lot, two of the songs are done by the "Wiggles Puppets." These are some of the strangest puppets I've ever seen and they almost have a demonic look about them. If I were a kid they'd give me nightmares. At first, our daughter was a little afraid of them but now she just tolerates them. There's also a magic sketch in each of the Wiggle videos but we usually fast-forward through it. Maybe when she gets older she'll find this to be interesting but it bores her now. Overall, I think that these are wonderful tapes. They hold our daughters interest. The songs and dances are fun for her to watch and she seems to like the Wiggles characters (Jeff, Murray, Anthony and Greg). It's the only tapes that we have she loves to hand to us, then point to the TV (play this one).
Rating: Summary: Be sure to get them all Review: I wasn't impressed with Yummy Yummy right away because I and my two sons (age 2 and 4) were spoiled with Wiggle Time. But the more we watched it, the catchier the tunes became. Then we got Wake Up Jeff. This one is a bit harder to get into because of the "outside the studio" action. My boys definitely LOVE the action and bring it with when we go to the local YMCA for child care. Instructors want to use the videos in their arobics classes! We can't wait for the Christmas video!
