Rating: Summary: A Definite Must-Have for Any Wiggles Fan! Review: My two-year-old son loves the Wiggles, and this video is their best yet. Leaving behind the cheesy backdrops seen in their other videos, they head outdoors to the Australia Zoo to visit with Steve, Terri, Bindi and the animals. The animal costumes worn by the children and by Captain Feathersword are great, and my son loves watching the characters interact with all of the animals (dolphins, kuckaburras, koalas, snakes, camels and many more). The dialogue between Steve Irwin and the Wiggles also adds an educational element that is lacking in most of the other Wiggles videos. The songs are so catchy that we've ordered the CD so that he can sing along in the car as well!
Rating: Summary: Keep on Wiggling! Review: For someone who is an avid reader, my life changed dramatically sixteen months ago at the birth of my first grandchild. Instead of reviewing some terrific book, I find myself reviewing my first children's video. Grandma got introduced to the Wiggles last month. I find myself compulsively looking for Wiggles videos we don't own. Why is this a new passion? Simple answer is my grandchild adores them. The Wiggles - Wiggly Safari is the latest one we have added to the collection and probably my favorite. It features Big Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter whom I have seen on TV and think is hilarious. There are songs, dances, and animals galore. The scenery is bright and there is some action going on constantly. Along with the boys from Australia, come the sidekicks such as Dorothy, Wags, Henry, and my favorite Captain Feathersword. This is a cute video. My only complaint is I find myself humming some of the songs, which is damaging to my reputation as a tough high school teacher! It maybe not be as educational as Sesame Street (which my grandson refuses to watch) but it is just as entertaining. For something to entertain the little ones and give parents and grandparents a much-deserved break, you can't go wrong with this video.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Wiggles Video Review: I think this video sums up what the Wiggles are all about - singing fun songs for kids and having fun while they are doing it. This video features Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter as well as your Wiggle Favourites - Geoff, Murray, Anthony, Jeff, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Dorothy the Dinosaur. The Crocodile Hunter is a scream! If you have ever seen him you know that his enthusiasm for life and animals is infectious. A wonderful choice for the Wiggles to make a video with. Every song is about Australia wildlife and not only do you get to sing about it, you learn a little about the animal from the Crocodile Hunter and the Wiggles and you also get to see the animal in a very natural setting at Steve and Terri's Irwin's zoo (Australia Zoo, located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia). I cannot recommend this video high enough, especially if your toddler is already a fan. They'll learn alot about Australian animals and have fun doing the dance moves to each songs. I have two girls - almost 3 and 18 months and they love this video! They are huge Wiggles fans. You will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Catchy and captivating for both children and adults! Review: At first, I wasn't sure how my 21-month-old daughter would like this DVD, as it's quite a bit different from the Wiggles' television show. However, she loves it! It holds her attention even better than the TV show, and she sits as if in a trance when it's on. This DVD is set outdoors, at the Australian Zoo, and features the Wiggles and the Steve Irwin family interacting with various animals. The songs are probably the best of any of their videos-I find myself humming them alot! Also featured are the four dancers (two men and two women) that appear in most of the Wiggles Dvds-they're such a pleasure to watch, and genuinely seem to be having fun. Overall, I highly recommend this DVD! It's enjoyable for my daughter, and I enjoy it too!
Rating: Summary: Great fun for our whole family! Review: I have TWO TODDLERS and this video combines two of their favorite things-- the Wiggles and lots of gorgeous pictures of animals-- so of course Wiggly Safari is a huge hit at our house. My 2 1/2 year old just loves the Koala La La song and would watch it endlessly all day long if I would let her. But since I also have to sit through repeated showings of what my girls are watching, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this video is much more palatable for the adult ear than the Wiggles TV show (if I have to hear Fruit Salad one more time, I think I will lose my mind!). These songs seem less mindless repitition, the guys less silly, the dances more "real" choreography. I actually enjoy watching this with my girls. And the Wiggles ought to work together with Steve Irwin more often, since their on-camera styles match so perfectly. I always thought Steve acted more like a comical character from a silly kid's book than a real person. In this Wiggles video, his over-the-top eyes-a-popping enthusiasm actually works with his material instead of against it. The interview with all the guys was a nice addition for me since it enabled me to see that at least Steve, Anthony and Murray are just normal guys when they are not performing. Do Greg and Jeff ever talk without a script? Anyway, we loved going on this Wiggly Safari, and we'll definitely buy more Wiggles videos now that we have seen this one. By the way, the absolute best part of this video is seeing the look of pure joy in the eyes of Steve's little girl Bindy when she gets to interact with her heroes, the Wiggles. She looks like she is having so much fun, and you know that cannot be faked in a child so young. Seeing the action reflected in her eyes makes me want to take my daughters to a Wiggles concert ASAP! You are beautiful, Bindy!
Rating: Summary: Great movie but with mandatory previews Review: My two-year-old daughter and I adore the Wiggles and I think this is their best movie. My daughter dances, sings, and laughs throughout the film, and then she asks to see it again. It is refreshing to see the Wiggles outside at the Australia Zoo, rather than on an indoor set. The animals are interesting and the skits are entertaining. The songs are catchy and don't stick in your head to drive you crazy the way some kids' songs can. The one problem with the video has nothing to do with the Wiggles-- it is those mandatory previews. The fast forward function has been disabled, so every time my daughter wants to watch it, she has to wait through 6 minutes of previews for other Hit Entertainment productions. However, the Wiggles are always worth the wait.
Rating: Summary: The Second best Wiggles video so far BUT...... Review: The best Wiggles video we own is the Hoop-de-do Party. This one is the second best. The Wiggles team up w/ Steve Irwin aka The Crocodile Hunter to spotlight animals native to Australia. Unfortunatley, they spend more time on themselves and the dancers rather than the animals. During the song about the emus, not ONE REAL EMU was shown. Nor were any owls shown during that song - they showed concert footage. There were no kangaroos, and only a few crocodiles (When Steve Irwin is introduced at the beginning, he says to Murray, "My crocodiles would love a good seranade"...OK so where are the crocodiles, mate?) I wish the creative team would spotlight The Wiggles less (yes I know its their video)and the animals more. It would have been a great intro to Austrailian wildlife turns out only to be so-so. On the other hand, this video has more life than most Wiggle videos. It happens to be my daughter's favorite..and i have to admit mine too. So Wiggle on...
Rating: Summary: Horrible choice for a Wiggles video Review: My son loves the Wiggles so I picked this one out since it was about animals and the Crocodile Hunter. It was terrible. None of the songs were catchy and were all slow. Also, it was filmed outside at a zoo and not in their normal, colorful sets, so it wasn't as fun to watch for my son as usual. Even though he didn't even make it through two songs, I vowed to watch the whole thing and it seemed like the longest video ever and I really enjoy the Wiggles. Spare your children and don't buy this video.
Rating: Summary: THE WIGGLES ARE THE BEST !!!!!!!! Review: I think all of the wiggles videos are the best. i can not pick just one, my daughter and i just love them. but this video is full of great music and funny funny skits with the whole gang. the children love them because the wiggles know how to interact with our children. and thats why they are loved so much by our children. so lets not pick and choose cause we do not like it lets let our children love them cause they do.
Rating: Summary: Wiggles are great - just not in this video Review: I seldom write reviews (although I often read them), but I wanted to warn other parents out there before they purchase this video. My 19 month old son adores the Wiggles and adores animals so I thought this would be a great video. However, the songs are not very good and the coreography is terrible. The worst part is the editing. The video makes rapid cuts during the songs - never staying on the same image for more than 5-10 seconds - making you feel a little queasy watching it. Unlike other videos, kids can't copy the moves and dance along since the rapid cuts prevent them from following the coreography. I also think it is overstimulating for a young child to watch.
