Summary: Wiggles aim a little higher but don't quite hit the mark
Review: The early Wiggles videos were simple: basic production values, and no storyline -- just a collection of songs performed one after another, sometimes accompanied by some cute child dancers. It seemed to be a great fit for toddlers and preschoolers, and the songs were catchy, silly and clever enough to earn their parents' approval too.

Since then the Wiggles have gradually moved away from that formula. Their songs, while not quite as simple and not quite as silly, are still pretty good -- catchy, clever and well-performed. The cute dancing kids were replaced by not-so-cute dancing adults, disappointing some fans. And in this video especially, they've added a storyline. But the storyline is unusual, to put it mildly. They seem to be going for zany comedy a la The Monkees, but they just don't connect. Neither preschoolers nor adults will laugh at this stuff. And with their typical low-budget production (a Western without horses?), most adults will end up feeling a little cheated. I'll still give them a few stars for decent songs -- I'd listen to this over Barney any day -- but I wish it was better.

Summary: Good!
Review: This is our 2nd Wiggles DVD, our first is Wiggle Bay. My 19 month old daughter loves anything that involves the Wiggles. She dances and sings with this DVD too. Although I can't compare it to their other DVD's, I would still recommend it. The bonus feature is good too!

Summary: Awful for parents. Kids may be entertained
Review: This movie is horrible. My two year old will watch this movie, but not with the same enthusiasm as other Wiggles videos. This is by far the worst Wiggles movie. My husband and I were extremely disappointed. Very hard for adults to sit through.

Summary: IT'S SURE FUN RIDING THE WIGGLY TRAIL!!!
Review: This time, the Wiggles are cowboys in their all new movie, (Cold Spagetti Western.) Four of the Wiggles' friends, Dorothy, Henry, Wags and Captain Feathersword are in this one, too...even Fernando and his son, Little Fernando.

I loved all of the new songs from the DVD movie including a favorite sene when the Wiggles rode donkies on their Wiggly Trail and how they help Fernando win the Country Cook-Off with Foodman.

Summary: Bravo Wiggles, You Did It Again!
Review: Unlike a lot of the other reviewers, I think this movie is awesome! My daughter watched it four times the first day we got it. Some of the other people say it is hodge podge and has western, Aussie, Hispanic and Italian all mixed in. SO WHAT! It's funny and has fun catchy songs! We have all the Wiggles movies and I don't like or dislike this one any different than the others, I am not one who thinks their earlier work is better. I like to see Greg, Anthony, Murray and Jeff evolve and change and KEEP GETTING BETTER! Go buy your copy today!

Summary: Disappointment
Review: We are big Wiggles fans in our house, and were very excited to finally see this new one. It was very disappointing. My son kept leaving the room, which he never does when the Wiggles are on. I think the problem is that they have lots of other people singing the songs, and sometimes the Wiggles are singing in such elaborate costumes, my son didn't even realize it was them. A lot of the songs are either sung with heavy accents, or for some reason hard to understand. Also, with the whole thing shot as live action somewhere in Australia (I assume) it didn't have the same fun and colorful feel as their sets. The best part to me was the bonus "Asian Postcard" which I'm sure is for adults because they are just filming their travels on tour from place to place in Asia. It was a great way to see these talented people as they really are, and get a sense of what life on the road is all about.

Summary: Wacky Wiggly Western
Review: We are major Wiggles fans here in this house, and we anxiously awaited the arrival of this movie. Unlike some of the others who have reviewed it, we think it's actually quite good! It's not their best, but it's definitely original, and my boys watch it repeatedly--just like they have with every other Wiggles video. We think it's a great movie, and I am glad we bought it! We have every other Wiggles movie, and I can't imagine not keeping our collection complete with their newest offering. Two thumbs up for the Wiggles! Keep on Wiggling, guys!

Summary: Can you hear the drums Fernando?*
Review: We don't own every Wiggles video, but we do own quite a few and this is, by far, my least favorite. However, the Wiggles aren't making these videos for me. My 2-1/2 year old son absolutely loves this video. I don't know how they do it but they're doing something right. I also don't know how they manage to put out a TV show, all these videos, and constantly tour. This video does look like it might have suffered from their overextension, but my son's not complaining at all.

*This is my favorite line in the movie

Summary: We loved this DVD
Review: We sadly had to return this DVD to the library and now we're waiting for our own DVD to be delivered. My twins are 4 and they keep saying how much they liked the "cowboy Wiggles". They are constantly singing Masta Pasta Maker which is a very catchy tune - how many Wiggles tunes aren't?!? When the 3 of us were fixing dinner the other night, and my son kept talking about how we were using the "secret ingredient" for our own meal - he was impressed!

Personally, I enjoyed the mini documentary about the Wiggles in China and Japan. You get to see them as people traveling and seeing sights like the great wall of China. My favorite scene is the four of them behind the curtain waiting to perform, their silliness lets us see them as humans and not just the Wiggles.

I'll be sad when my kids outgrow the Wiggles, so I'm enjoying these guys as much as I can now!

Summary: What happened here?
Review: We're all Wiggles fans in our family. We just had a Wiggles Birthday party, and have every Wiggles video and DVD released in the US format, and quite a few cd's too. (see my "So You'd Like To" guide for all the party details)

After several so-so recent efforts, we rejoiced with "Top of the Tots", because they went back to the old format, more or less, with educational and fun material. It had sing a-long songs and lots of Wiggly entertainment.

Now, after we eagerly awaited "Cold Spaghetti", and finally got it, I'm scraping my jaw from the floor. This is their most uninspired effort to date, and a huge disappointment.

Instead of being a western theme movie, which would have been truly excellent, Cold Spaghetti is a disjointed, unintelligible, low budget mix of Cowboy, Australian, Mexican, and Italian themes, with an incredibly impossible story line, even for kids.

The main "plot" involves a Western Cook Off, which instead of good old cowboy cooking, involves a French chef, a Chinese chef, a Russian chef and an Italian Chef. The winner's entry gets high marks for a basic, unadorned creation which has been sitting around on a table for hours awaiting a special ingredient which is simply poured on top of the cold dish.

The costumes are awful, especially Food Man, and here again are the marching band red uniforms on the Wiggly dancers, which haven't fit in with any theme so far, but yet - here they are again. The only good costumes were the Mariachi band and other Mexican costumes, which must have been authentic.

There's the usual predictable repetitive choreography, except for one Western theme dance, the Boot Scoot, which seems to be the only cowboy type dance they bothered to learn. Incidentally, Dorothy the Dinosaur already did it as a line dance in an earlier video, so even this is not new.

The redeeming features are the one or two (maximum) catchy songs, and the great Asian tour footage included as an extra feature.

This is a case of breach of promise, and could have been so much better. The idea is good, but thoroughly wasted. The documentary on the making of "Cold Spaghetti" on the "Top of the Tots" dvd is better than the actual movie.

My son watched this one a few times and went back to the early ones and "Top of the Tots". I suggest you do the same.
